On February 2 I traveled from Sacramento California to Memphis Tennessee. I got to Thrifty rental at 9:20 pm. The guy that was waiting on me told me it was going to be about 40 to 45 min wait, because they had to wash the car. I looked around and there was a line of people waiting for the same thing. I wait approximately 55 min. Before the guy call me up to the counter. I really think this is so unprofessional and unnecessary. Because I prepaid for the car so my car should have been waiting on me. Know one wants to get off a long ride and still have to wait an hour for a car. It's just bad business. I declined to pay for gas, returned car full, got a bill for $149.16 for "Fuel & service." There is no way to actually talk to someone about this. I have 13 (counted) phone calls to national and local numbers with no option to actually talk to someone (except I did leave my number on a voicemail for the local Hertz, the only one I could find). There was a vague mention of needing a "fuel receipt" on one robot message but there was no information about what to do with it. It is possible that Thrifty just automatically charges everyone for fuel (or "service") and waits to see who contests it. I have spent so far over an hour just trying to reach someone in their billing dept. Tried another number, was transferred, and call dropped after about 10 mins.

I went through Priceline to book a flight and car rental. Once I got to the car rental place in DFW,I told the guy at the counter that I had paid via Priceline for my rental. He said ok, asked me about pre-paying for fuel; which I said fine. Thinking I was only getting charged for the fuel, he slide my card. Then handed me a receipt and told me I'd be charged $441 and some change, and have a total of $950 dollars held until I bring the car back. I told him, I'd just like to cancel it, because they didn't know when I'd be able to get into a car and having that much money into a rental car, is plain ridiculous! The guy at the counter said I'd get a full refund, but I'd have to call Priceline, since I booked from them. Was no help what-so-ever. So I called Priceline, they refunded me the amount I paid online and told me the rest of the 950 I had to go through the rental place. So I called thrifty again and they said they couldn't help me, I had to call priceline, even though, they refunded me on there end. After almost 3 days on the phone I finally got someone to kind help me, told me once I dropped the vehicle off, I'd receive my refund. Not understanding I NEVER TOOK A CAR! Back and forth for 3 days, and they finally claimed they would refund me. I should've received my money back Monday (May 10) and currently I am still waiting in it.

I would recommend NEVER going through THRIFTY CAR RENTAL. They have awful customer service in store and on the phone.

I am snowed in in Denver. Roads are closed as is the return location. When I extended after my first flight cancel it was a mere $13 but my flight was cancelled again due to them closing the runways as well as access to the car rental return location so when I extended the vehicle you guys charged me over &200 additional despite that it was out of my control. Despite that it is not a full week my rate was changed completely. When I asked for a supervisor I was told one wasn't available. I'm being treated unfairly as well as overpriced and if nothing is done to rectify it I will be reporting the company to the better business bureau.

We reserved a rental car in Houston thru Thrifty car rental B98415249 in the name of Brian Keith Mccoy but had to cancel due to covid issues. The car was booked thru thrifty sister company Economy booking and we were charged $422.98. Now we are told that there will be a $100.00 cancelation fee and the balance of 322.98 cannot be refunded for 90 days. This is exactly why rental car companies are going out of business, This is the worst example of poor business practice I've ever been thru. Thrifty car rental refuses to help me get my money back. If you rent from this company count on getting screwed. My phone number is 6154409870.

On December the 18th I called and made a reservation to go pick my grand babies up from Gulfport Ms I was to pick the car up at Greenville Spatenburge Airport.I call the front desk of the airport to confirm my reservation to find out they will not let me get the car because I'm using my debit card when I specifically told the lady I had a debit card this went on for 2 days everyone at customer service said yes I can use my debit card but where I was to pick rental car up at said no I had 2 forms of ID and my Visa debit card I spoke to Havana, Tim, James They all told me that I will not get a car So all this time me thinking every thing is ok to find out I can't get a rental car So Thanks Thrify for ruining my Christmas to where I can't get my grand babies I searched everywhere to try and find someone to take a debit card and thought y'all did but I was wrong Felisha Phelps

DO NOT rent from Thifty. I prepaid for a car and when I landed at DFW there was no car available. I paid for 5 days and the customer service rep on the phone said that they "could not guarantee" a refund. I spent the morning on hold trying to sort this out. Hopefully my credit card company can successfully dispute the charges.

I have tried calling concerning a billing question at the 800-847-4389. It only pertains to rentals not billing. I can not locate a viable number to call to talk to a human about an outrageous bill of $97.35 for 2 toll booth charges. Both PennDot and Thrifty are using toll booths to gouge rental car users in Pennsylvania.

St. Louis, MO 4174 Cypress Rd. St. Ann, MO 63074 I want to complain about this location attempt to cancel legitimate reservations to give our cars to last minute renters at high rates. Due to rain storms across country, our flight from DC got in 1hr 30 mins late. By time we off-boarded and took airport shuttle to Thrifty car rental on Cypress, we were 2 1/2 hours after our reserved time. When we arrived the staff said they were told to cancel any reservation over 2 hours late. We planned this trip months in advance and due to the Solar Eclipse we knew there would be demand so we made reservation. Instead of honoring our reservations, they told us to leave and go find rental car place. We knew their would be no more cars in the region and last minute rates would be 4X higher, so we said honor our reservations because you know we can't control flights and weather. They told us leave or they will call police on us and say we were causing a problem instead of saying we cancel people reservations if 2 hours late because of flights. They called the police on us. We told them they were wrong to treat us like this. But they said, due to solar eclipse they made this rule for the day, they did not care that our flights were late because of weather and 2 hours is the rule of the day so leave. It was horrible!!!!! 3 families were stranded...a mother was crying, elderly couple who called from Detroit about the weather (even dialing the number in front of police and we watched the phone at counter ring and was answered by another front desk person-WE ALL COULD HEAR THE OLD MAN SAY, "THIS IS THE NUMBER>>I CALL YOU DIRECTLY ABOUT THE WEATHER AND YOU SAID NO PROBLEM". This was horrible treatment. The police and other customers agreed that this was wrong treatment. The police went back to their car saying we can't make them do right. I told the men behind the counter that they know if this happened to them, it would be cruel and wrong. The other families left in taxis. I refused to leave. The police said they could not leave because of me. Finally after 2 hours of torture, I mentioned calling media and I have a video of the incident. I can show you video of the people who issued this treatment based on direction they were given. Looking out for the well-being of the business, one smart employee took action to resolve the issue. I did get a car, but went through HELL, embarrassment, anger, fury and belittling to get a car I rightfully reserved. The owner made this rule or somebody did, but when people fly to a place and reserve with Thrifty they don't have the right to treat us like this. There is so much more I can say and show! I would like to hear that is has been address with this location. Cancelling our legitimate reservations to save cars for last minute renters to gauge them, but screw us over, is heinous!!!!!

This company is completely crooked! They charged me twice for the one rental. Were rude when I asked for a refund at the main desk and told me it was not there problem. Also, they don't make customer service number easy to find on their web sight and when I finally did get the customer service number I spent forever on hold.

On 8/31/2016, my flight was delayed into Austin, TX. Upon phoning Thrifty, they wanted flight information to verify delay, but said they would hold the reservation for car until 9/01. Manager of Austin Airport's Thrifty told me on 9/01: 1) she had no clue who manager Michael was (whom I had spoken to on 8/31), 2) that even if she did know manager Michael (whom she thought was corporate) that corporate's computers don't communicate with Austin Airport's computers, 3) that I could wait around for 2 hours to see if a car came in but NO GUARANTEE. When I explained to manager that I needed the rental to get my little's brothers memorial, she said: "Well...you can go somewhere else if you want." I was completely appalled at the treatment I was given. Result: The car rental rep next door heard every word with eyes wide open saying Thrifty's treatment of me "was messed up on so many levels." They put me in a car within 10 minutes for a better price than Thrifty and offered condolences to the death in my family.

I rented a car July 5th had to bring it back 2 hours later but I went to turn the car in July 7th they said that I could have a couple hours till actually 5 hours because of the inconvenience of having to return a car I apparently hit the brakes hard enough to make safety lights come on it was concerned for the safety of the car returned it exchanged for another car now I'm being charged for the extra hours 7 to be exact I told them I would be late 5 o'clock didn't show up till 7 so they charge me for a whole nother day I'm not happy with the service someone please call me back from your corporate office thank you very much

I will avoid profanity. However, during a 60-minute series of holds and 7 transfers yesterday I received no help whatsoever. It was a simple question re insurance within an on-line quote for a booking NOT YET MADE. Those I spoke to insisted on a (non-existent) Confirmation Number and at least five of them had sufficiently strong accents that I had difficulty understanding them. Being from the UK, I also have an accent, but speak slowly and clearly in order that they may understand ME. I wish they would do the same.

I am massively unimpressed by Thrifty and will certainly not attempt to use them in the future.

I had a reservation for 10/10/15 in LAS. When I arrived we were advised that they wouldn't have cars for an hour. I figured I had to wait because I had already paid for the car. Upon checking in we approached the customer service person (if that what you want to call him) and asked what he needed a conformation #? He has the nastiest man I have ever encounters in my life as he was popping peanuts in his mouth sipping on a powered didn't he apparently got offended when I told him that a little civility would go a long way so the he "I ain't helping you" all while chomping on those peanuts. I called customer service who was NO help, they told me to go to Dollar (Which was at the same counter by the way). I've spoken to several customer service people and two supervisors all of which have given me the run around. Save yourself the hassle and don't book through Thrifty/Dollar at Vegas and if you see the man chomping on peanuts and sipping on his power drying, get a refund right away and use another company; even if you have to pay more money. I NEVER got my can; thank you Priceline for refunding my money!!

Thirsty rental Philly airport worst service ever ! 1 hour wait in line . Our reservation was for 11am got to rep and were suppose to get car at 12:10 no car people after U.S. Got car at 10 maybe 15 got there cars and left ? Patrick the supervision was very disorganized & only 1 rep at desk I think her name was Alina it was covered by sweater! Finally at 1;05 got car we were very hot sweatie. I have never been treated so rudely everyone complaining no inventory. Just got line after half wait with customer service with Yolanda supervision could not do anything but not on account our dissatisfaction. They may offer voucher for next rental . Because the rental was in my husbands name he would have to call.. If we get vouchers that will be the last time I use Thirfty rental car to get frequent flyer miles with Southwest Air.

This is WORST COMPANY with home I have had the (dis)pleasure of working! They have refused to be of assistance in my situation and have been rude on the phone. I had a car crash on the way to the airport to fly to the destination to use their rental car.

Hello my charges have been deducted from my account but my refund of 172.00 has not been charged back to my account. I was told it would be 3 to 5 days and it's been beyond that now.

Reserved a car in April 2014 for a trip in October 2014 at the Dayton Airport. Arrived on 10/16 at Thrifty, only to wait an hour to find out they had no cars available. Thrifty offered to find me a car with another agency. They found a car for me at Hertz at double the rate. They gave me a form to submit along with my receipt to reimburse me for the additional cost. In November I sent the form in and later received a letter stating I would receive my reimbursement would come under a letter with a different. cover. I sent customer service an email on 12/4 asking for status on request. No response. I finally called customer service on 12/22 only to find out there has been a change in the accounting system and my request will be process in a few weeks. They said they are doing everything they can to assist me. The chance of me renting another vehicle from them is zero; but I am doing everything I can to consider them a option.

Was at the Orlando International Airport Thrifty car rental, Ms Bonnie decide she was going to be rude, as well as, short with me upon renting a car. They were already short on personal to handle the customers waiting in line for some time. I have renting cars before numerous times from this airport, and Thrifty always seems to be the worse in customer service. They are more of hustlers then sales representative by far

I was in Killeen Texas Airport. I went to drop off my rental car. The agent at the desk told me she could not help me nor talk with me till 0800 am. Mind you my flight check in was at 0815 and there was a massive line. I ask Shelia Smith the agent can I ask a question and she stated to me they don't do no businesses before 0800. I was upset and walk off. There was three of us from Fort Bragg who had rental cars that she told this too. My concern is that she was rude and unprofessional and if she don't like her job as customer service then she should not be at the desk. I will not ever rent a car in Killeen Texas by this company with agent like her. The manager wasn't much help either she did not address her rude clerk behavior
