It's a customer service from hell! I waited bout 35 minutes to talk to a person to be referred back to their stupid website. A monkey could have done a better job! I got scamed by a so called "ebay shop" and was told that they are not part of ebay...... wtf?? They got so big that they think they are untouchable but craigslist will kill'em like facebook killed myspace just wait and watch!

Thanks for this site. I got ahold of eBay customer service in about 10 minutes. Unfortunately the eBay buyer who claimed they did not get the item I sent them through email (an iTunes gift card code) filed the claim through PayPal and now I am on hold with them... sigh.

I feel as though eBay make it difficult to speak with a live person on the "customer Service" line to get a simple answer to a simple question. They have the customer jump through a bunch in the hopes, "press this number", "enter this code" that the customer will become so frustrated they just give up. So in a couple of words...IT SUCKS!

Here's my nightmare. Hope yours is not as bad.
Owing to product misrepresentation, FOUR times I tried to effect bid cancellation for active listing using their automated system -- FOUR times it responded by REFUSING identical and FLAWLESS input. Attempts at direct phone contact even more pathetic: there exists -- in wholesale contrast to instructions published -- NO “live support” at 1 P.M. 08-31-10 and only a ceaseless maze of ineffectual recordings on using any available toll free number/s, which incidentally required retrieving from a Google data query to find one that worked!! The Taliban could not set it up any better: this experience has cost me in excess of two and a half hours -- congrats eBums on the customer relations!!!
Summation:
-- "Contact Us" page is endless loop which does nothing but return the customer to the original question!
-- Exhausing ALL other options, I resort to a a Google data query hoping to retrieve a working phone number.
-- CONTRARY to instructions published for contact #'s stated on THEIR website, there is NO "Live Support Button" option, NO redirect to a service representatnive and NO other form of phone contact published on their website!
Time laspse from final attempt on finding a working number for telephone contact to hearing a live voice? In excess of fifteen minutes air time, lost calls AND lost business! Screw eBay!

I had to laugh at the person claiming to be "eBay customer service" below - suggesting pushing "contact us" on the site - HELLO! IT DOESN'T WORK. That just puts you on a never ending automated FAQ search tool - no way to contact anyone. That's why we're all searching for sites like this online to try to figure out some way - any way - to actually get customer service from eBay. They are pathetic.

Thank you for starting this page! I spent almost an hour waiting on ebays live chat. I was getting so frustrated. Thank goodness i stumbled across this page.
There was a long wait (over 30min) on the phone with ebay, but they answered my questions and issued me a refund promptly.
The customer support I'd rate as good, but contacting them seems to be the problem.

This site was amazing. I was beginning to get soo frusterated and ready to pull my hair out because I couldnt find a contact link to contact ebay. You would think for as big as a company they are and how many people they cater to that they would have an easy link for proper customer service techniques. I just want to thank you for this site. This has been the only way I could contact ebay. I have never incounter worst customer service in my life! To solve one issue I have waited on live chat for hours than it be my turn and it would disconnected. I never was able to get to live chat again. They say that they are available by phone, email, and on live chat, this is not the case just try to contact them and you will be more than mad. I supposably talked to a manager yesterday and I was told everything was taken care of and not to do anything else I would get an email (I did but for a guy named Richard) I know he had to go through everything I did to get a hold of someone so I than spend hours to contact ebay again because I want him after all his effort to get his email- I ask him (that manager) how do I know what he is saying to be true and that it is so hard to actually get to a person he gave me two phone numbers had me read them back to him. The first was no longer in service the second went nowhere. I found this out when I tried contacting them about the wrong email. I was told durning that call everything this "manager" told me was not true and that can't happen. Of course it didn't happen so I call again today hours on hold again and was told they were connecting me with a manager only to be hung up on again. I call again (every time you have to give all the info. about you and your case and have them put you on hold so they can review your case and so on) I am told once again all is taken care of and is there anything else? (I highly doubt anything is taken care of but) I told them they should make it easier for their customer's to contact them and was told that it simply can't happen due to call volume. I told her that they are losing more customer's by not being able to contact someone and being lied to and hung up on and perhaps they should think about that. (dispite the fact they state all over the place on their site about buyer protection -a joke). Thanks again for a way to try to resolve my issue.

I guess I'm one of the few who wants to PRAISE ebay's customer service. I called the ebay toll-free number (thanks to this website) and they SAVED me!!! We were offered a product online that was supposedly going through eBay Motors. I called eBay (hold time was only 12 minutes) and they confirmed that the "transaction" email we received was indeed a scam. If it weren't for eBay customer service, we would have taken a huge loss. Thank you eBay! my advice: verify any "ebay" transactions with none other than EBAY!!!

I am desperately searching for any and all persons who have recently purchased a 1955 Chevy Bel Air on eBay that turned-out to be a fraudulent transaction. My friend has become a victim to this scam and purchased this car w/in the past week. I wont do a deep dive in the particulars, but lets just say he found the car on eBay and was walked right down the road including "Live-Chat" and "eBay buyer's protection" to loosing his money. The folks at eBay have not been very supportive, although they have not turned a blind eye, yet, to the situation. If you know anyone who has had this experience, please reply here. These people are VERY sophisticated and, to be quite honest, have had to have worked or still work for eBay to have pulled-off this scam with he accuracy of which they were able. The steps they used were very calculated and very professional. Just as you would have expected to get when dealing with eBay's buyer protection.
BE VERY CAREFUL IN YOUR DEALINGS WITH ANYONE VIA EBAY!!!!!
The lack of verification and awareness eBay provides its users is horrible and is a direct stimulus for what happened to my friend. This invisibility allows acts like this to take place.
And before anyone ponders my involvement.... I have been witness to the whole transaction, from beginning to end and have many years of corporate security under my belt. As well as cyber crime experience. These people are up to speed on the intricate workings of eBay and have a top-notch spoof site that you bounced to from their eBay ad.
All I can say is... If it seems too good to be true.... It probably is and isn't worth the risk. If you cannot physically inspect the item before paying... NO DEAL!!!!!

I purchased pirated software from China on e-bay paying with my credit card through PayPal. E-bay wanted me to resolve issue with China supplier by shipping product back to China. I called my credit card company and entered dispute with PayPal, who I actually paid. My credit card company is having me send the product back to PayPal (in United States) and they will wrestle with PayPal to return my money. PayPal can then deal with e-bay and the China supplier. E-bay owns PayPal. All because I couldn't get any live help from e-bay.

Ebay customer service is the WORST thing I ever had to deal with. I was on hold for 45 mins and the representatives do not know what they are doing. NO help at all. The guy just told me he will get back to me and put me on hold for 20 min and the last thing you know he hung up on me!!!

Ebay customer support if full of s***! I called in earlier today ans spoke with a rep who couldnt resolve any of my problems then told me she would call be back within 10 mins with an answer but never called back. So I called back and the recording stated I had a hold time of 5 mins and 45 mins later still no one had come to the phone! Pissed off i just hung up. I must say Ebay customer support is the worst I've ever dealt with!!!!

is the worst customer service i've ever had to deal with. i've been dealing with a issue that's over a month old. they keep telling me i have to call back every 4-7 days and i've called 5 times. getting a representative on the line is near impossible. as i write this i'm on hold trying to resolve an issue and have yet to actually speak to someone it's been 54 mins. and the last time i called i wanted 49 mines then finally spoke to someone that gave canned/robot answers then when i asked to speak to a supervisor they put me on hold for another 7 minutes to only then come back on the line and hang up on me.

eBay SUCKS! I can't find any customer service phone number, and they just want you to enter your question and search answers online. I was billed for NO reason. The invoice did not list the reason why I should pay. The chat service takes an hour to wait. This is HORRIBLE and a BIG waste of my time! I will NEVER BUY and SELL from eBay - NEVER NEVER!

ebay's customer service for sellers sucks....i've been trying to get their live chat to work but can't get anything but that stupid EMMA thing. Anyway, I think the reason that you have 2 bids show on your item but the price hasn't changed is that the same buyer placed a higher bid. The price of your item won't increase until another buyer places a bid. At that time, it will bump up to either the new bidder's or the old bidder's highest bid necessary to purchase the item. I waited over an hour to 'chat' as my item had two bids, but the amount hadn't changed from my .99 start. When I got the agent -Rapunzel AR-I asked my question at 10:58:36 (08-12-10) it took her almost 1 1/2 minutes between response times. I asked if it was such a difficult question - why was it taking so long after I waited for over an hour. She cut me off at 11:05:14. She never answered my question. I think they are paid by the hour and don't care if they answer a question or not. So I tried to get a phone number to make a report on her. You have to ask a question, and I don't know what the magic is to getting a pin number so you can get a phone number. I tried two different numbers listed on a webpage, I got ebay but first number disconnected me constantly and the second gave (false) directions to get a pin number to be able to phone them. Everything is circular with no resolution. Horrible!

I went through crappy ebay shipping to print out a label, it didn't print. I waited over 30 minutes for live chat, no one ever answered that, and over 30 minutes for someone to finually answer the phone. When someone did, (gave the name as Andrew), I expressed how unhappy I was having to wait so long, and I got disconnected. Called back again and it took me over an hour to finually get something done. I had to got through the printing lable off ebay again and I won't get my money back from the first failure for about 2 weeks. WHAT A SCAM. If ebay keeps this up, they will be out of business.
COME ON GOOGLE, GIVE THEM SOME GOOD COMPETETION.

ebay is the most user unfriendly company I have ever had the misfortune to do business with. A pin number to contact customer service! I have been waiting for over aweek for the item I purchased. I cant even find out if it has been shipped!
I will NEVER buy anything from this company again.

" RIDICULOUS " Absolutely no- way they will EVER get my business ever again. I had an account for over two years with NO issues over being a BUYER ...but the first time I tried to sell some of my designer wallets I found in the back of my closet- the BUYER decided that they wanted their money back even though it was PAYPAL & EBAY who were " holding " my funds because I am a new seller! I told the buyer what had happened- and even forwarded the email they sent to me informing me that the funds " could " be held for up to three weeks! The buyer paid in ONE day & it took Ebay 12 days to post the payment & then the buyer was given a REFUND AFTER they mailed me out a check! I cannot log into my account because it is now " blocked " even though I have PAID PAYPAL ...( of course, I was also responsible for the FEES for posting the item ).....AND EBAY TOOK THEIR FEE to process it, but I had to RE- PAY the BUYER the FULL AMOUNT & I still have the UNSOLD ITEM....... NEVER AGAIN- RIDICULOUS! Oh yeah, BTW: I was on their ONLINE help chat : an hour of trying to explain it and then having the customer service person tell me that I was just not " doing it right "...LMAO

Trying to get a customer rep is absolutely ridiculous. I finally got thru to one after about 40 minutes of clicking different links. The barely English speaking person said she would take care of my problem. The seller said he couldn't complete transaction but ebay keeps sending me notices to pay for the item. Went to live chat tonight and got the run around after waiting for 53 minutes. Chat person kept telling me to go on line and file a complaint. What did I do the day before? When I said their web site is not user friendly, he disconnected the session. EBAY SUCKS and I won't use them anymore. If you run into a problem you get NO support whatsoever. I am now on hold for 30 minutes so far.

eBay Owes me $40.00 for prematurely placing a shipping charge that could NOT be deleted.And I have send eBay several e-mails that eBay dos NOT have my permission to withdraw any funds from my Bank Account until they credit my $40.00 loses for which I have explained numerous times by e-mails, they are ignoring all my e-mails and are creating much displeasure, animosity and anger to a good client and acting like thief's, that are out of control. I DO NOT TAKE ORDERS FROM eBay or any other organization that are DISHONEST AND ACT ONLY FOR THEIR OWN INTEREST, I am very upset with the billing or any department that are not taking appropriate action for my Problem CREATED BY eBay. For their information I have already filed several complaints with the appropriate Government agencies, State and Federal and if necessary I'll take legal action against eBay for this amount and more. I'd like to make it clear one more time that you do NOT have my permission to take any fund until I get a credit for $40.00.

must have a pin to continue, and your site neither warns of needing a pin, nor instructs you how to get a pin. completely phukin worthless. you people at ebay need to get your act together. i have been trying to contact you for several hours. i finally got your corporate 800 number, through another site, and of course it directed me back to the website "click on live support in upper right hand corner of our home page", BS there is no link for live support under the support column, why? you people obviously pay shmucks in a think tank to come up with ways to piss people off. my problem is i was promised a refund, and never got it. Someone purchased an item that was not as described, however i initially closed this case because i thought i had settled with the seller. apparently, he was only concerned with his negative reputation, and not honoring what he said hed do. i really regret this experience, probably wont purchase items off ebay again, and will make sure my friends and family dont use your site, unless theyre looking to get really pissed off, because for me this has been an aggrivating and stressful experience, why the hell would i want to go through all this crap again. its really frickin simple, under contact us, you should have a phone number to speak to a live representative, that barely speaks english, let alone fully comprehends it. bob

to contact customer support, just go to help at the top of any screen. then put in customer service. It will bring up options. live help thru chat, or email or call them. they will give you the number and a six digit code to put in. that is all there is to it. Plus you do the same on paypal. I have never had a problem in the 15 or more yrs. that i have been on ebay as a buyer and seller.

I found it impossible to find the customer service phone number on the eBay website. Everything points toward correspondence by email. I had to use Google to search for the number. It seems eBay prefers email, but that communication medium is not always the best solution to resolving a problem.

I completely disagree with all the comments below. I responded to a listing on Craigslist for a vehicle purchase that ultimately was a complete scam. I received a bogus response email set up by the seller from Ebay Motors Customer Support, explaining my buy/sell agreement would be handled by a protection escrow account to be facilitated with a money transfer to an ebay agent. The seller gave an excuse for not being able to supply vin# which completely alarmed me to research. I contacted ebay live customer support who verified my suspense and explained in complete professional detail why this was a scam. BEWARE OF CASE ID# VPP# for initial transactions! Oh an the customer service waiting time was a respectable 4 mins.
Thank you Ebay customer support for saving me thousands of dollars in this scam!

We are going in circles with this e-mail communications, it has become annoying just to receive this pre-written e-mails that have the same content and with suggested link in them I am send to the same place over and over again, the eBay chat is pathetic, and solve nothing except time consuming in my case for many hours and NO result.Are they reading my e-mails what I have written time and time again, I'll be short this time, I don't need any of this pre written advice in is useless and leads to no resolution. Advice and directions are becoming very annoying and they all say the same thing and nothing is done except the same polite gibberish I have to hear over and over again, and all the chatting personal are waiting for their turn, and then the following e-mail comes with a different name and the same content, we are going in circles with eBay, Someone should read my e-mails again to get it,- GET IT>??? eBay owes me $ 40.00, and I need this amount to be credited, just the way you pull money from my account, the same away credit it. Worst customer "service" I've seen. Calling numbers on this website, and after hours, getting a hold of someone- worthless, they just transfer you to the "right department" and then you're on hold again for 45+ minutes and no one ever picks up. Sad such a huge company that doesn't do anything for its customers.

After purchasing and paying for the item, received it but wanted to return it. The seller had a return policy and agreed to refund me. Once the package was delivered back to the seller, I heard no response about my refund. I tried contacting the seller every couple days and then filed a complaint on Resolution Center. After a week, nothing. To my dismay, the seller is "No Longer Registered." I called here and although waited about half hr, calmly explained my situation to two separate reps and was assured I would receive my refund back w/in 48 hrs. I've had a very positive outcome and hope you do as well. Remember it's the seller/buyer's fault, not customer service.

Ebay customer service is horrible! To contact them through ebay you have to ask questions, but it will never give me contact info even though they claim you can chat, email or call, luckily I got the number through contacthelp.
My problem is buyer's ebay contact name and paypal name are different, ebay shows paid but paypal holding money, neither can resolve issue and ebay still wants thier fees for an item that I still have yet to get money for (on hold through paypal 2 wks now)
What a joke.
Also with out negative feedback, how can we let others know of potential problems, I buy and sell off ebay but you have to take care of your sellers to, without them there would be no ebay for the buyers.

I, too, got ripped off 3 times by overseas buyers saying they never got their items. I know it is a lie but ebay refunded them, plus shipping and then the buyer still has the audacity to leave negative feedback! What a travesty!

I just got ripped off by a customer too.. I emailed ebay and its not the respond team I wanted . I haven't tried calling yet. I just want my money I know the person got his item my the messages he sent me though ebay but they won't do anything about it. I hate not being able not to leave negative feedback to the buyer who rips you off to worn other sellers. That is not fair they can rip us off and leave negative but we have to leave them positive I DON'T THINK SO.

I was stolen twice by EBAY sellers, many times asking for help to this company and PAYPAL and no answer, the only thing they said.. "sorry". I was trying to recover my money, really desperate and one of those sellers (Chinese by the way) just ignored me so far, and the American one, just did not refund my money saying a bunch of lies to me and playing dumb. He sold my items getting a good profit, selling twice wow!! what a experience with these people.

wow it has been 4 days with many emails and hours on the phone trying to get the NON-AMERICAN'S to comprehend the problem/situation with no avail. Why would we want to keep doing business with this horrible company. Can't log in can't get help with logging in just the biggest run around. We have Nothing good to say about this company started in California now has all its call centers in a foreign country. Do you really feel secure knowing foreigners have accuse to sensitive information?

The most aggravating thing of all during my selling experience on eBay is when some buyer in Florida paid by credit card. Paypal authorized payment and advised me to ship the item. A month later, after the thief in Florida got the item, I got notice from Paypal that they had reversed the payment. On top of that, they charged me a fee of $10 to reverse the charge. So that thief in Florida kept my item and I was charged $10 fee for charge-back, shipping cost and the cost of the item WHICH THE GUY KEPT.
Figure that one out. When I spoke to eBay and Paypal, they justified their actions and I was penalized AGAIN. They always take the side of the buyer, no matter what their ratings are. It is incredible that they do not protect the seller. Without sellers where the hell would they be?

By the way, when I did get through the representative was very helpful. He confirmed that the item was a scam. no seller by that name existed. Keep your eyes open everyone! :)

Ebay is Joke no matter what they will take the side of the buyer over the seller anyday. I had a problem, with this idiot buyer who bid on a broken Iphone that I was selling, and I even asked the buyer " are you sure about your bid" because he had zero feedback and was a new member so it makes me to believe that he has got a suspended account and he made a new one, so after everything he kept bidding on item, and Ijust went through 2 items got people won and they never paid, but of course nothing happens to them.So this A-hole won the item, paid for it then I sent it kept emailing like it was text messaging and I replied to all of them he got the item, then 2 days later he filed a report with ebay saying that I lied to him about the phone and I do not respond to him, Ebay being Ebay didn't give a rats ace about what I said even though the description of item says broken Iphone maybe be missing parts,is not working they gave this jerk a full refund,when I sent the item some parts were still working so he changed the good parts and put his own bad parts in it and they can care less, I will never use them again

TO CALL EBAY CUSTOMER SERVICE........... you have to go to Paypal then click on Help>Contact us by phone or email>call us. At that point it will give you a six digit PIN that is good for 60 minutes. After you have that PIN then you can call customer service number listed on this page, after you have entered the PIN just follow the prompts and it will take you to a customer service rep. (an actual person!!! YAY finally!!!)

A lot of seller are crying foul, but believe me some of them are real crooks. They lie in their descriptions, doctor photos, inflate values and switch items. That why as a buyer, I’m leaving eBay. I’ve also had problems with eBay customer service, in one instance I got a favorable and unfavorable ruling on a disputed case with in two minutes of each other. So I guess I lost $69.00, that a lot of money. Signed Confused!

I have an issue regarding a pulled transaction, so I called this number and I was able to reach a real person in under 6 minutes, while going through some computer until reaching the option of talking with the real representative.
The discussion was formal and the representative was friendly. Could be the weekend or something, but although I have to wait 8 days to resolve my situation, he was very polite and helpful.
Overall 8lvl performance.

Awful customer service. Nasty on the phone, horrible phone manners,they do not answer your questions and become argumentative with you as you are trying to explain your issue. How ebay has been around for so long, i dont know. I guess it is due to smucks like me that dont realize what you are dealing with until you need them. 2 calls and on hold for 45 minutes each and never got anythign resolved. EBAY youo stink! Fix it!

I not sure what to say...I have been unable to reach anyone in Customer Service either by email or by telephone for several weeks now.
The last time I spoke with someone was almost a month ago...there was a problem with ordering an extra item by mistake. Next thing I know I see something about "Case Pending" & "Case Resolved" - I don't want this to go against me in any way...so I ended up ordering another item so I would not have a problem. I have always been so happy with Ebay, BUT not being able to SPEAK with anyone in Customer Service eithe4r by Email or by telephone is just NOT right. I would like to know WHY the telephone number was taken off the Contact Info. No one responds even to emails. I think the people who buy on Ebay and the Sellers have the right to know why this is happening...PLEASE tell us...as this affects both the sellers and the buyers, and I for one do not want any Negative Feedback because Of lack of Communications between Ebay - Sellers, & Customers. The rating is for when I was able to speak to Customer Service... unfortunately, the problem was not resolved.
PLEASE Don't keep this going too long...there are a lot of customers that are NOT happy with what is going on..

I'm with you 100% seems NO matter WHAT you do or how many POS FB a Seller has they side with the buyer (note he only has (50) me over 1,300. I think if us seeler coudl fina ANOTHER site to sell on we shoudl jsut do it. It's O.K. Ebay takes our fees etc....to pay the employees and the big wheels line thier pockets. I can't imagine the new FB policy aobut leaving neg ofr a Buer is working. How do you figure that. Sellers need to stamp on Ebay for NOT resectin gus. I package every time with care, even with palstic for bad weather areas before boxing. I've been told item was wet, Smelled of smoke etc...I don't smoke and try my best to keep item dry. why would weather have anything to do with me anyway. I've been called horriable nasty names of buyers. etc.... Ebay needs to know they DO have peopel that just sit aorudn all day and to nothing but harrass sellers and make our lives mesirable and I can bet we are jsut trying to make ends meet while WE pay for the Walfare in this country--yet these couch potatoes, have pc's but to torture us---butr cna't feed thier own children.

FeeBay bites the big one. A bunch of morons that don't care about sellers problems but if a buyer has a problem 99.9% of the time they'll side with the buyer. I have been selling on it over 6 years and now i'm done with them for good. A lady bought some toys from me and I shipped them using USPS but I didn't purchase additional delivery confirmation cause she didn't pay for it. I mail it and she claims she never received it. I have the original receipt that shows it was mailed to her exact town, the date and time, and zip code. She opened a case against me and Ebay naturally sided with her cause they "can't track the package" with the receipt from the post office. The case was opened for approximately 3 days and then it was automatically closed decided in her favor even after I responded about it. They keep emailing me to pay some bogus resolution fee (which I refuse to pay) or they'll send to collections. They can kiss my ass those bunch of braindead zombies!!! Don't sell on there you'll have many problems as a seller.

Called eBay today for an item I had sold but the buyer didn't pay for. I won't bore with the details but did follow all the guidlines but didn't close the case properly. I couldn't get a number to call so found this site and called the number. They kicked me off once but if you call press # a few times and then follow the promps you will get a live person and they were very helpful and very pleasent to deal with. They refunded my money but when asked how in the future to get a hold of someone they hung up on me!

I just called eBay today because I had an issue with my User ID (I won't go in details because it would be sooooo long :) )
So I called eBay.Yes it took 30 minutes before somebody answered me, but at last, I spoke with a REAL person, and the lady down there at eBay's phone service center answered my question and helped me solve my problem. Yes there could be improvement on the phone service, but at least you speak with real people....Just try to speak to somebody at Microsoft's.....

Alright, I posted a comment on 2/23 regarding a situation where one of eBay's sellers was using my 14 year old son's phone number and he was receiving phone calls from unhappy buyers. I have yet to receive anything from eBay regarding the removal of my son's phone number from this account. After I previously left my comments on this site, I contacted eBay by email using their customer service option. On that site they say they will respond to you within 24-48 hours, I still haven't received any response from them. I have emailed them again, we'll see what happens. Today is 2/26.

I just got off the phone with eBay customer service after calling them a second time because the first guy "Jose" hung up on me when I insisted twice to speak to a supervisor. You see, my 14 yr. old son's phone number is being used fraudulently by an eBay member who is making buyers very unhappy, and so they are calling my son trying to reach "sunnyshadesup" to give her a piece of their mind. I was on the phone with customer service for 45 minutes trying to get them to remove my son's phone number from the account, which they said was already sanctioned, but that I would have to wait for "sunnyshadesup" to remove the number and that should happen within 24-48 hours. I had to threaten them with a lawsuit if they didn't remove the phone number tonight. After putting me on hold for about the 8th time, I was told they would remove the number tonight and that they would immediately fax me confirmation on that. So now I'm checking my email, nothing there yet.
Why can they not handle people without scripted conversations and why can't the people who are responsible for the chaos there take care of it and keep the public happy. I am very unhappy with eBay now, and will never use them again.

i kinda get upset and hope at some point e bay will work on keeping sellers content as well as buyers..i do undertand the importance of customer satisfaction..i pay a huge amount of my profit to e bay to run what should be "my store" however i get e mails that upset me regarding sellers standards..i understand this is important as well..however i believe buyers have learned how to threaten their sellers w/ negative feed back..if i did in fact run "my store" i could make "my" decisions...do i make mistakes ? you betcha..but more than once i've had in my ad "no refunds" and have waivered if i myself believed what the customer is saying is right; i have almost 400 positive feedback shouldn't that tell e bay something about my business practices? i take alot from my buyers..i just wished that e bay would let their sellers run their businesses..when that buyer bids; he knows firsthand what his shipping charges are etc..and he bids anyway...how can that come back on me the seller when he complains after winning the item? i have so many ???'s do i think a seller should rob someone on shipping absolutely "not" but the buyer doesn't realize that the handling fees and delivery confirmation are included; they complain because they see possibly another seller charging less shipping..as stated however, they know if they read my ad what is to be charged before bidding so why is it i not only take threats but risk punishment w/ e bays? these are things i would like to know thanks kathy

Of all the internet companies out there, EBay is the most difficult bar none to use. If you need to straighten out a problem or get a live person to help you, forget it. Have written to the CEO suggesting he try his own service out and then compare it to the others that are real simple to use, no response.

Recently I requested to contact by phone. The website actually gave me a phone number and a pin# to enter for my issue.
Once this was entered, several times the automated machine didn't come close to understanding my question. I then hit "0" several times and the machine said it would get me a customer service representative.
10:45am EST to 12:00pm I waited for a rep. Just elevator music and a rambling machine voice telling me I could go to the website and have all my wonderful questions answered.
They won this battle, I finally hung up. Even though I was a bit curious about how much longer they were going to keep me on hold for.
10 year casual buyer and seller (over 700 feedback) and I am starting to hate ebay for so many reasons these days. Something competative in popularity needs to come along and kick some sense into them.

I bought a telephone through ebay India. It was not as it was described so I returned it. Ebay refused to pay me back even though seller told me that they can refund me the money. They closed on the case on their own. And now they are telling me that I cannot open the case since it is already 45 days. How can they close a case without settling with me.

I was patient with a company that sent the wrong item. They kept promising me the correct one was in the mail.I phone and emailed 2-3 times per week.Well, the 45 days elapsed and now I can't file claim. The customer support rep said they would still send a letter to the company and impose "sanctions", whatever they may be. At least I got a live person. The phone prompts didn't help.

I called 866-934-9647 and when I didn't choose one of the two options (both about item problems) I was connected to an operator who helped me with a problem I had about my account. I had to be transferred to another operator and was put on hold for a while, but my problem was sorted out for me. I probably should have called 1-800-701-3229 for an account problem. I tried this number afterward just to see how it worked and the menu seemed pretty straightforward. All in all I can't fault eBay on the help I received, although I wish these numbers were on their website somewhere. My problem involved changing my account over from one country to another and was not covered in any of their email help topics and I really needed to speak to a person.

I have found success when calling this phone # even though other reviews on this customer service phone number were not good.
Any who, I have found if you call early in the morning around 7:00am or 8:00am eastern time zone, you reach a live person quickly. I only waited for 20 seconds. If you push any options such as 1 or 2 you get someone and they will be able to answer whatever question you have even though the menu option is not matching your question.
The person was very helpful in my issue. My issue was that I could not pay for an item on an item I won. I have been trying numerously to contact the buyer to inform him my credit card is not working and therefore cannot pay the item. The buyer would not respond regardless. So, I called ebay to inform them and see if there was a way to get in touch with the buyer another way to avoid getting a strike on my account. I've been in good standing the entire time I've had my account. The customer service representative helped me find buyer contact information right away without hesitation. He was very nice and helpful. I was told that my account will not be closed if seller fails to communicate with me and tries to do a strike on my account because I did what I was supposed to do for communication. The customer service representative put notation on my account. He reminded me to try not to have too many of these in the future. They are very helpful on any matter you may have.
If you are friendly back to them and honest, then they will help you without hesitation or issues.

ebay customer support is HORRIBLE don't listen to a word they say, they are nothing but LIARS they will not help you they will tell you one thing then tell you to call back in a couple days then the next person will tell you that the other person lied. The lady i talked to told me to call back for Alex in the resolution team and Alex doesn't exist. If you need something resolved use pay pal if possible, if not just forget about getting your money back.

Ebay customer online support is not user friendly at all. It just runs you through the hoops. I had a very hard time trying to get their telephone number, email address or even someone to chat with about my problem. They need to do something about it or else risk losing a lot more customers.

I was able to get through to a live person, but only after 5 minutes of navigating through the phone tree. Not sure if it's a new feature, but they added a thing at the beginning where you have to enter your phone number with a pin number you set up. If you keep hitting 0 and it will give you other options. It will then ask you if you've filed a dispute, if you say no, it tells you how to do it. Then gives you more options. Eventually you get an option to speak to an agent.

HORRIBLE! After waiting for 2 1/2 hours to chat with someone on their "live chat" sessions, I finally was told that I would be given a refund in the amount of $160.20. I waited and waited and it finally showed up on my account page. Problem was, they never refunded it back to my credit card. After a few emails, someone from ebay confirmed the amount of refund I was owed. On my account page, they only showed 99.15 as a refund and -61.05 under the payment category...uh, hello, when the - is in front of the number that means a credit. When I called and spoke to a supervisor, after much arguing, he unwillingly confirmed the amount of my refund. Problem now is they only refunded me 99.15....so they are screwing me out of the other 61.05. I re-emailed them with the proof that they promised me 160.20 and they have NOT responded and on my account page on ebay conveniently says "account balance temporarily unavailable". I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH EBAY AGAIN...THEY ARE HORRIBLE.

I made a purchase on ebay and paid via paypal. Ebay e-mailed me that the transaction was cancelled by them and gave the indication that the seller's listing was fraudulent. They never reversed the paypal transaction. A few weeks later item arrived which I never expected since the ebay had cancelled the transaction. I contacted ebay and they had me on hold a long time only to refer me to paypal. They said paypal is familiar with this type of situation and would handle the refund. I filed the claim. Paypal wants me to ship the item back with tracking. Annoying and inconvenient but I understand. Horrible customer service at paypal for this situation and they suggested I call ebay back if I am unhappy with the resolution. I am now out almost an hour in phone calls, need to take a trip to UPS and need to pay for the shipping on an item that ebay cancelled and the seller is no longer a registered user for.

though i have now been a victim of two fraudulent e-bay "buyers" and am really annoyed that e-bay doesn't have a system to at least attempt to weed these people out...this number did work and i spoke to a person right away. she couldn't help much but at least i spoke to someone, i guess that was nice. e-bay really is a horrible company, i've wasted a ton of time on fraud. you would think a well established company like this would be more helpful.

the money order was signed and cashed at
a bank 8 days later at a bank
eBay did NOTHING
they sent scripted messages
nothing so when you send money on eBay it
does not matter what format either paypal
or whatever your taking a chance
the only way you get your item is if the seller
is honest enough if not forget it
eBay just wants fees

A class action suit against ebay should be filed. I have sold approximately 17 items on ebay at auction. Nothing more than 30 dollars. After 14 items were sold I became upset with ebay because I paid 500.00 to debscustomwebs.com for a web design as she stated she was a certified ebay web designer. She did nothing. After months of trying to get the design I called ebay. They said there was nothing they could do as it was over 45 days. How did I know how long a web design would take. I stopped selling at auction. Then about 2 weeks ago I met an artisan from Lima Peru. He is young married man with child to support and I have given him money to help. I told him I could advertise his jewelry on ebay and sell for him. We entered a partnership. I have sold 3 items of his for a maximum of 26.00 which includes shipping and insurance from Lima, Peru. Ebay suspended my account. I have spent 3 days trying to find out why and no one seems to know. They say I must respond to the suspension but no one knows why I was suspended. How do I answer a question when no one knows the question. This is absurd. Ebay should be sued through class action. I will spearhead the effort contact me at turfrico@cs.com and I'll get everyone's address and complaint and contact my attorney. Thanks

I called the customer service line to get some information about my account.
I have only been a member on Ebay selling items for about 2 months.
They told me I owe them $150.25 for Aprils monthly fees.
I have only sold a little over $200 in items since I started selling on Ebay last month.
Apparently they are allowed to charge whatever they feel like.
I do all the foot work, packaging, and listing the items.
There has got to be something that can be done about this, they are ripping people off left and right.
They are making more money off of me than what I am making selling my things on their site....

I am so sorry I ever started with Ebay and Paypal. They are both a rip off. Ebay has counted each of my items twice and then double charged each of them. I emailed 3x but haven't receieved a response. It's b**t as they charged me over $ 65.00 Also, when I tried to get the minimal funds released from Paypal, they said they could only release it to a bank account which I would never give them. They can take money out from my credit card but convemiently can't credit it back. When I said I'll take it in a check, they are going to charge me an additional $ 1.50. Nickle and diming everywhere from both companies. Ebay doesn't have any cust serviuce phone number to call. Concenient. I'm done with both these companies and feel like they are a scam. I'm furious

Beware what you do on Ebay. They will rip you off like there's no tomorrow. I have sold and purched items on Ebay within the past month or two and couple of months later after selling nd purchasing, I have been getting fee upon fee upon fee from them. They have terms and condition that are not noted on Ebay or at the time of either purchase or sell. Also, when you sell an item, after your first attempt to sell and no one purchases and do a second attempt to resell and you alter any information to the description of the item you are selling, they will charge you an Insertion fee. I have been on the phone and online trying to resolve my issues, but get a different responses from different Customer Service reps. I would not trust this company non whatsoever.

I don't think you can use the words customer and service together when referring to eBay! I just received an e-mail stating my account with eBay has been suspended due to the fact that I let a suspended user use my account. I had no idea what they were talking about. When I asked for clarification from ebay and told them emphatically that I had not let anyone use my ebay account, let alone someone who was suspended, they basically said, "Well, you're still suspended until you pay their charges." I tried to get the contact information for the person who had supposedly used my account and they wouldn't give me that information either. So I've been suspended, have no recourse to be reinstated and can't even get anyone to give me specifics on why I was suspended. For a huge company, they have some of the worst customer service I've ever seen. I would say do your business with a company that cares about your business with them. Ebay obviously only cares about it's bottom line!

I'm giving up on ebay. Now, since ebay has forced yes forced you to us paypal they don't even have a clue they are sabotaging themselves. Most people don't want to be forced to give out banking or credit card info if at all posible. Who is paypal to be trusted with everybodies information! DA! idenity theft, errors, ect... Therefore, I predict ebay's customer base is going to fall off of the map. Who you ask will this effect? Unfortunatly the sellers. My opinion of the ebay corp. leadership, if you want to call it that, regarding their new policy is: a decision made out of the neccessity of greed or just educated idiots. I personally, will no longer buy on ebay until this policy is reversed!

I am a selling ebay since 1997..I have ALL EXCELLENT FEEDBACK..except recently..since they changed the feedback area..I can't sell on ebay now because of my shipping costs were too high. Well, I researched this, and it the STARS scale 1-5..they recently added. I had just started using EBAYs SIZE AND WEIGHT..ps is off. When an item recently sold, it showed me as shipping $10.24. To the buyer it showed $24.04. I contacted ebay..India? joke.He told me that when others buy my items make sure my shipping is cheap and they add that on my record. Course I had to remind him I couldn't sell on ebay as they took me off. I got the bad shipping DSR. So even though I have NEVER had a complaint on Item, shipping sent out, quality, etc. on the star system it went down and they stopped my selling ability. There is NO protection on ebay for sellers just buyers. He also reminded me it will drop off in 1 year..Does anyone know of a better auction site? joy

There seriously needs to be another way of trying to get a hold of someone in your multi -billion dollar company. The Live Help isn't much help when you are trying to get quick information and resources to take care of a situation. Now for over a week I have been trying to get some time of help with revising and relisting my items on ebay. I have been told the same thing over and over when I sent your company an email. I am important and someone with contact me regarding my situation. Guess what, I'm still waiting for that help and one of my listing is no longer up. I tried to find out how to get my listing fees back since my item didn't sale and still nothing from your company. You need to seriouly get a better way of communicating with your seller and buyers other than the live help and email. You need actual people who will be able to handle any type of questions and give us sellers and buyers the answers and responses we need. There's no customer service number other than this one which you need and invitation and regristration number for. This isn't helpful at all. I just need some questions answered regarding some items I need to relist. I am not trying to cause any chaos or problems, I just need some human to human voice contact help regarding this matter. This number is useless. The rep I got couldn't look up my account and did nothing but try to pass me off to their "Live Help" (this must be the support page that times out on me). E-Bay seems to be doing everything possible to avoid dealing with anyone.
I'm giving serious thought to cancelling my E-Bay and Paypal accounts. They closed a dispute I had despite the fact it hasn't been resolved. Now I can't even get to a human to discuss the matter?

Ebay, as a multi billion dollar company can afford to invest in a customer service operation and the fact that they have not, is pure severance from all responsibility. I love to use ebay, or loved to, before they decided to block my account, but never until becoming a seller did I realize that as a company and entity they are useless with issues. The lack of timely responses to emails, the fact that you have to search directories to find any phone number to call them, it's poor, poor management. Anyone else want to show then ow to run a multi billion dollar com[any, cause I do. When I called the number above and it said it was invitation only I just played it off like I was supposed to be there, then the person I was speaking with said, hang on a second where did you get this number and I said, "I had to look it up online somewhere, I just need to know why my account was suspended cause I don't see any reason why, and I wrote back to the email like it said to and I need to know how long it will take for this to be handled." Ebay, "5-7 days, Thank sir goodbye" Talk about the cold shoulder. Oh, oh, so sorry to disturb you elitists, I may have been taking up the precious time of the more important people, WELL NEWS FLASH EBAY, us small sellers and consumers are the reason you can function, percentage wise, we make ebay more money than all the power sellers put together, the only reason I Don't condone a strike right now is because it wont help our economy, but I'd love once things start looking up. eBay's customer support is lacking the human quality. I called this line and heard that I wasn't invited to call. Why is this company so hard to contact or get information from? This company needs to be overhauled. There are too many problems(to list) and they know it, the company needs to bring some real people who understand the problems. Live Help is a joke. Everything is automated and they are still have the price gouging go on. Customer service is a bad thing with your customers, whether sellers or buyers.

Short introduction of myself and company. I used to be a daily ebay shopper, and now a Power Seller. Ebay sure has changed in the recent years to a incompetent cocky business. A lots of sellers are complaining there are barely protection for them. And Ebay does not do much to protect buyers from bad sellers, besides a dispute console that takes forever to resolve if it resolves any issue at all. Now Ebay are not allowing sellers to leave any buyer negative feedbacks, even the buyer doesn't pay, the buyer will not receive negative feedback, then why even bother using this flawed system? So if a buyer doesn't pay, he or she mostly likely will get slapped on the hand. Feedbacks? As a seller, I don't even look at it, as a buyer, I don't really care, if I don't get my purchased item, I'll just call my credit card and file a dispute.
Their phone customer service is not top notch, it's just ok, and even for a Powerseller like me, I couldn't get a phone number off the ebay website, I had to search on Goggle to find it. Why hide? Not hiring enough reps?

I called and got the information I was looking for. All the eBay bucks are delayed and I will have to pay with my money rather than their money for an Item I won that only gives me 24 hours to pay.
I can't understand how this company will survive only allowing select customers to call in. I was pleasantly told (the person was truly very nice and pleasant) this is a one time call since I was not a invited customer.
I'm looking for a new sale/buyer site. any ideas? Craig's List is good and free.
