The customer support for windows live is absolutely worthless. I only have an account so that I can use Xbox Live and the representative was not interested in resolving the connection issue. I am paying money for a service and getting nothing in response to technical issues beyond my control. Shame on you Microsoft!

Been trying for weeks to get information I need for my xbox. I am currently locked out of my account. I know my ID, but have forgotten my password, and NO customer service that seems to care. So far this experience sucks. People spend lots and lots of money to be able to play the xbox. but let one thing go bad, and it is HELL getting in touch with someone to help straighten things out.

I bought a new Dirt 3 retail game. It requires Windows Live in order to play, so I tried to sign in which I haven't used for a pretty long while. It didn't work. I repeatedly typed in characters all right, but it kept saying it was incorrect. And so on and on. They steal our money! I couldn't find a way to contact live person until I typed in "Windows Live Customer Care" and then I see comments that they couldn't get live person. Well, I'll keep trying or maybe find a way to steal anything from them for justice. Lol.

I have a new iPad. To try it out, I sent some short (10-30) videos to family. None arrived. Next morning I find a message advising my email was frozen 'due to unusual activity', and that I had to log back on to deactivate the whole thing. When I did this it rejected my email address and password. To get onto a support line, you have to enter your access- hello!!!! It rejects it Eventually I get diverted to an American site that promises to fix it for a charge of $22. Like a lamb, and desperate, I passed over my details. NEXT SCREEN UP asks me to add my email address- and of course, it rejects it!!! Worse, I cannot go back to retract the payment. This is like the Twilight Zone, except you can't stop the madness. There is, apparently, no help. I cannot deactivate because I am unverified, and I cannot reverify, because I cannot log on. -David M.

I suppose if you are not paying for your email account you can not get any help - the Window Live Online Help is useless - Finally I just went to another provider - Lost all my email

I am having the same problem the other guy trying to get his blue flames everything he said has happened to me. They will hang up on you they are rude and they really don't care.

This is the worst customer "support" ever. I AM DONE. All I wanted was blue flames for my Halo: Reach avatar. Don't even attempt to get through to them. They won't do anything. They don't really care about you. If you do succeed in getting an email from them, it's automated, general, and doesn't answer your questions. I have been trying to get my password back for like a week. 5-6 days. I stopped counting. And those are just the days I went online and asked for help; that doesn't include the ridiculous amount of time it took for me to get the useless automated replies. NEVER again am I going to try to be nice when companies' customer support sucks. I'm never this harsh. Well, I guess there's a first time for everything, huh? After a week of trying to deal with robots over the phone and online and some rude lady with a heavy accent, (probably getting paid 5 cents an hour in a different country,) I'm done. I hope you have a better time than I did and I sincerely hope you have a nice day. I'll pray for you right now.

Okay, now, to be fair, I'll explain my ratings.
Reachability: 1 because unless you like talking to robots, you're out of luck
Cancellation/Return Process: 1 because it was misleading, confusing, and obviously unhelpful
Issue Resolution: 1 because... What resolution?
Friendliness: 2 because at least the robots didn't hang up on me
Product/Service Knowledge: 2 because the lady transferred me to the wrong department

P.S. I just got a wonderfully stupid email from them recommending that I make a new account instead of recovering the old one. Helpful. The funny thing is that if I did, THAT WOULD DEFEAT THE WHOLE PURPOSE. I need this account because it's linked to my gamertag and I don't really feel like regaining all of my progress in all of the games I've ever played. I think I'll politely tell the robot that now.

This entire process is a joke what customer service phone number????? Even IF you can get a "live" person they're idiots. Good luck...

i didn't have a problem at all with the rep i talked to.our account was screwed up from a typo and she figured it out and fixed it in less than 5 mins.sorry you guys had bad exp with them but i have nothing bad to say after getting through to a real person.

Windows Live customer support absolutely sucks. Three transfers later and waiting 48 hours that was supposedly a for sure and still my Windows Live account is blocked. Dear Windows, ya suck

My account has been blocked the system asked me to send my phone number, even I tried to reach there a contact and somebody was talking to me by phone and promised me to help me, but after two days nothing has happened. It's frustating.

I am very upset here. I am blocked from my email account. I have tried changing my password like they said that would unblock my account and it hasn't. I get my bills in that account. It would be nice that when they tell you to contact "Customer Support" they should provide a phone number or an email address to talk to them. I had to go to search to get the phone number.

Are you kidding me. This sucks. What customer service, there is NONE. I have been blocked from using my e-mail, because it says my account has been blocked because somebody hacked into it so I do what they say and nothing happens. So i finally get ahold of customer service and i can't understand a flipping thing she is saying. Then she wants me to pay for an e-mail account, really. Thats when i said some expliciate words and hung up. Amazing!!!!!!!

My alternate email is my phone number via the service provider but it can only accept 150 characters so I can't see the full message to reset my acount password and send the information I have to hotmail's customer service seem useless as they are too over protective. And they don't seem to really care.

Got a message the other day that my account had been blocked tried at least 10 times in the last 2 days to follow there process to get account unblocked so I can get into my emails & my contact list they have an email account for me, have no idea where they got it from nothing I have ever used for an email address, they keeping telling me they are sending a new code for me to use, well that is all fine & good but I am looked out & can not retreave any mew codes even if they were to send it to my correct email address, I have done the new password like they wanted but nothing changes, so I opened a new gmail account, I guess these people are not on the same planet as me. Hi, I am still awaiting a reply from Support. I have the screen up where it says "My question has been opened up to all the computer experts/a computer specialist was checking the problem". This has been going on since 6:00 p.m. this evening. I have not heard anything since. Do you know if the problem has been resolved? The time here in the Bahamas is 10:44 p.m.

Called the billing number today and even though a representative answered as a billing associate, he was more than happy to help me resolve my blocked challenges. The key is go to this page: http://www.windowslivehelp.com/solution.aspx?solutionid=6ea0c7b3-1473-4176-b03f-145b951dcb41 and go through 'Windows Live Validation'. It will ask you for a secondary email address to send a new pass code within 48-72 hours.

I can remember when you could call a help number at Microsoft and get wonderful advise and solutions for not a penny! Now, as someone said, they lead the world in rotten customer service. But since they are a monopoly, practically, they can treat their customers like s--- because they know we have no where else to do. Ah, for another Bill and Paul somewhere out there! For even worse sercice, try getting help with Facebook! OMG!!!

The once iconic company founded by the brilliant Bill Gates is now the gold standard for poor (non-existent) customer service and arrogance. I have spent 10 days trying to solve a password problem for my son's XBOX. As others have stated, the Live Forum is useless. Threads are deleted, replies ignored, etc. Most phone numbers dialed result in a series of steps ending in abrupt termination. I am trying to buy a Gold membership and they can't even find a way to accept my money. They are completely out of step with the XBOX people - no communication or synergy. One can only hope that Google continues their march over this sorry excuse for a technology paragon. Microsoft is hopeless and worthless.

Also when you use this number 1800-386-5550, when it ask you for a phone number, type in the same number if you dont have a premium account. Then they will say there is no record of that account. Then You say you do not have an alternate phone number and they will ask if you want an agent. It took an hour to finally figure this out, but at least it works. On hold now. ;)

I have been calling since January 1st before this semester started because I can not access my email. How do you expect customers to access their email and you won't return calls to reset their password? Poor customer service, extremly poor customer service. Please show more consideration toward customers otherwise customers will not do bsuiness with you company!

Respresentatives are rude to cusotmers!

I have been having issues accessing my account for over a week now. Windows Live Solution Center is having a Melt Down or something and keeps coming up with error messages. I have filled out the requested information three times to be given access to my own account and so far two have accepted my identity. However, I have received no email from them about a password reset and at least 80% of the time when I try to access the private forum it will not let me and the rest of the times it will not let me post information to the forum. So I called Microsoft and got a hold of a lady named "Stephanie" who kept telling me to ask my question at Windows Live though I kept telling her that the system isn't working currently. She acted like she didn't care or could not understand the content of the problem at hand. She finally brushed me off and then hung up. I have been a user of hotmail and Microsoft for ten years, but I find myself today transferring my information to a new gmail account. If this is the norm for Microsoft and its products and customer service people I rather spend more money or what have you with their competitors.

Tried to receive help with my hijacked Live email account and was told "This is free and the only help you will receive is on line". I've been trying to correct this problem for over a month!!

Worthless. XBox Live sent me to them for password assistance...don't bother calling this number for anything related to a Live account.
