During oil change at Jiffy Lube the shield beneath the oil pan was not secured. I was not notified when I picked up my Jag S-Type that they could not secure it. I had driven it less than 300 miles when I heard something dragging beneath the car. I Stopped and saw the connecting points on rear end of the shield had been detached and the rear ende of the shield was dragging. I stopped at a service station. It was put on a lift and secured enough to return to Jiffy Lube in Westminster, Md. Zack secured it but indicated that the inside of the front passenger tire was worn due to needing an alignment. The wear according to another source said the thin line wear was due to a bracket that was not secured at Jiffy Lube.
Zack offered me two front tires plus alignment at a cost of $500 -$600. My source claimed I may not need two new tires and one new tire at most and that I may not need an alignment. since alignment may not have been the problem. In our rural community trust and handshakes between customers and local business are still very much a part of our culture. I would like to come away feeling that I can trust Jiffy Lube. Any thoughts?
