My BMW 740il was hit (while parked) by a driver insured by Allstate. At first I was happy to know they had Allsatate insurance. That did not last long. We got some estimates and went to see the claims adjuster (John Smith, that's his real name) at David Martin Agency in Central Point, Or. From the start he was clearly trying to low ball us. I let him know that I have an ASE Certified Tech, have a A/S in automotive technology and over 25 years exp. Then he changed the way he was talking to my daughter and myself. He agreed that it did need a new hood. I had upgraded to Xenon Headlamps about 2 years ago. I had noticed the estimate showed non xenon headlamp. When I mentioned that to him he tells me my car does not have them. I assured him it did. He gets an attitude with me. So, I take outside, open the hood and show him the sticker on the assemble that says xenon assembly. Now he wants to see if the marks (on the headlamp) are just paint from the car the hit us and if they will buff off. They also wanted proof that the car pulling to the right was from being hit. It just spent $1600.00 dollars on tires and alinment. So, I have the lens buffed. It is scratched all the way across the lens and the toe was off on the right front (the side it was hit on). I had to pay for a full alinment. Allsatate wants to pay for just the one wheel, not for the headlamp and they want me to pay for half the paint on the hood. The estimate was $4,300.00. I was willing to go with a used lamp assembly. I wasn't going to ask for a rental car. I guess I will see them in court
