Register.com and Internet Names for Business are absolutely the worst companies to try to get your Domain names codes to transfer them; the aggravating part is they pass the buck from one to the other back and forth; claiming they don't have the codes and the partner company has to call them on your behave to get the codes, so the customer has no say on getting the code because is some else's hands; at the end you don't know who has the codes. They tell you that you have to call the partner but the partner who has the codes doesn't answer emails of phone calls, in the mean time your website is down. I don't ever want o come across these companies and they should be avoided at all costs.

I had indeed experienced the same feeling when I couldn't get any help from Register.com although I've logged many tickets, called various times and still no answers. The Support should be reviewed.....

On 08/11/2011(11August2011) i made a online transaction of $93.95 to register.com for purchasing a Domain(www.crapomedia.com). But later i thought it was too expensive and asked you peoples to cancel the order, before activating it. They told that we have canceled the order, but I had checked with my bank, the amount has not credited back to my Account till today.

I registered my domain, and upgraded my email package with REGISTER . COM to 10+ email package. THey have charged me for this service, But I am unable to logon to any email account. I have contacted them daily and they dont do anything besides asking me to repeat the same process over and over again. I have been told every day that this has been routed to the correct department and they will get into touch with me, and I am still waiting ... I have requested managers details via the support messenger and via the support email address, they are refusing to supply me with this information. I am stuck with a call centre that I cannot escalate a issue with for resolution, they keep on closing the incedents instead of keeping them open till resolved and I have paid for a service that lasts for 365 days - the time taken for them to hopefully one day fix this issue. . . I HAVE NEVER BEEN DENIED THE RIGHT TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER BEFORE !!! SHAME ON YOU AND SHAME ON YOUR CALL CENTRE !!! I AM BEING ROBBED!!!

For the first time ever my email is not working and the phone line is busy. Your service has been excellent until now and now it is worthless. People rely upon you for their business and you are letting them down.

I can't get through to speak to a customer service rep... have been waiting for a very long tim. I have tried several times. I can't pull up email and my website is not up! What's going on?

Just an awful service. Tech support is Ok but email site is so so slow. Ancient and hard to work with. Just up with the "modern" version and it is far worse than the "classic."

It's obvious that Register.com, like the old AOL, purposely makes it difficult for customers to leave their service. To get an "Auth Code" to transfer a domain name to another company, you have to call Register.com Mon-Fri between 9 and 5. They keep you on hold for 15-20 minutes, then transfer you to somebody else, hold again for 15-20 mins and hope the call doesn't drop. Then the customer service rep stalls as long as possible by trying to convince you to stay with them. They know that busy people who work "normal" jobs can't take this kind of time during the work day to make these calls, and they probably get a lot of people who just give up and retain Register.com because they're too tired to fight. This is deplorable customer service...and if their prices were more competitive with Godaddy, maybe they wouldn't have so many people like me switching!

I've had a terrible experience with Register.com.

I have been trying to transfer my domain away from them for over 6 months now, and they continue to use delay tactics to postpone the transfer. Additionally, every time I contact them to reinitiate the transfer process, they try to re-sell me hosting services or ad-clogged parked domain pages.

Customer service has been responsive and polite, but ultimately unable to complete the transaction as I have requested.
