Like the many others listed here, I'm a relatively new customer, had no good connection to the internet for 2-3 days, have yet to talk to but one service rep and was assigned a case #...3 days ago...still no service on inet...I will be cancelling my service tomorrow like some many on this page... lousy support, lousy connection, total rip off... I will post on RipOff website tomorrow as well

Your customer service lines suck.... Can not get through on any of them... I have tried for 2 days waiting for more than 30 minutes and never getting through. You will loose this customer and I will never say anything good about you services...

You are the SORRIEST of any business that I have ever done business with. You are deceptive, lying, unscrupulous and unethical. I don't understand how your company continues. I have an appointment with a reputable (which you ARE NOT!) company to connect me with their internet service this Thursday, December 22. They have even sent a maintenance crew out this past Sunday to upgrade trunk lines to ensure quality. Regarding HughesNet, I am so glad to get rid of their sorry butts. Their world of deception will soon collapse around them. Thousands of angry and even enraged customer complaints at various blogs and web sites.

This service and company is ridiculous!!! I don't know how you can even try and get new business when your current customers aren't happy or even getting through on the phone to communicate their issues. I can't communicate though Wi-Fi because it doesn't work!!!!

We have been disconnected 5 times, been on the phone over 2 hours holding.
We were not advised that our internet speed would decrease with usage, that the speed is less than yhe local carrier, thst we would have to climb on the roof and remove their equipment, when we wwre lied to.

This company is a complete and total rip off!!! The service is terrible. I wasn't even able to do simple things such as send an email from my computer. I switched companies and have had no issues since. Whats worse is when I tried to call and cancel the lady kept telling me they had better service and wanted to give me a free upgrade. I agreed as long as there was no contract. I still canceled bc there was no difference in my service, but they wanted their equipment back. I mailed it back and never heard from them again. Then, I had a charge of $217 on my checking account from them saying I did not return their equipment and I did. I did not keep my receipt for the tracking number b/c it had been well over a month since I sent it back and hadn't heard anything. Now I'm stuck paying them for something I never should've taken in the first place. I bought the first equipment they installed, but they had no problem taking that with them and not refunding me for it when I upgraded. I never asked for it b/c I don't want their equipment. It is of no use to me. DO NOT EVER GET HUGHES NET. WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH AND SERVICE EVER!!

As of today I have cancelled my account with Hughes Net. I have never been so displeased with the service of a company. You have gone above and beyond to make it nearly impossible to work with you. I will make sure that I inform anyone and everyone I know how displeased I am with your service. You have absolutely zero customer service skills.

Each comment is correct about Hughes. A Federal investigation into consumer fraud, FCC violations, and anti-trust must be launched so that this company and any associated government representatives who received indirect campaign funds or lobbying funds can be brought to justice. To allow this company and others like it to continue their fraudulent and unprofessional practices is objectionable. I recommend all customers to complain directly to the Attorney Gen. Consumer Protection divisions of their respective states as well as complain to their representatives and threaten to put them out of office if justice in the courts is not served against this corporation. I also recommend a class action lawsuit for over billing, double billing, lack of service, consumer fraud etc. be filed by the thousands of current and former customers. It is time to do something besides complain less thieves like this and their government cronies continue.
With regards to the complaints read, all are on point: rude, incompetent customer service, below broadband speeds, and data limits that make the 56k modem era look pleasing.

I am very unsatisfied with my service. I would like to be contacted regarding my account. I have been treated wrongly and would not recommend this company to anyone. I want to know how to disintegrate the contract asap. I am so upset. We have a complete outage and only am able to contact through my cell phone service. My case number is Extremely disappointed in the service and is not close to what was promised when I reached out to this company.

I've only had Hughesnet 3 months. It's aweful so far. The only good thing about it was the installer. He was very nice and knowledgeable.Got it for kid's school assignment. I watched some movies the first 2 weeks, then never again because service says it was used up, so I upgraded, paid you more money. After 2 1/2months of not watching any movies and paying you and Netflix but not getting to watch because you zap off our gigs, I haven't even tried, until the other morning at 2:30 am I tried forever to just watch one movie during the bonus hours we never get to use and your service wouldn't even work then. today I tried to google something and your service was completely down, none of your phone numbers worked, finally mashed #1 for new service, then he transferred me and your number said it couldn't be called.If we are never going to get to actually use your service, I need you to buy back the satellite and I'll figure something else out, It's not worth it. When I can get on your service is so slow. If you can't do something, I'll add my reviews to all the other bad one's for you. Thank God I have internet on my phone, it's the only thing we're ever able to use. I haven't said anything yet to all the facebook friends that ask about how good or bad Hughes net is, but I will if you can't provide a good service, you are expensive

Because this is written in English, I am probably wasting my time, as most of the idiots at hughes either can't speak, or don't understand simply English. They must be trained by the mental midget moron in the White House. I just called and was connected to some idiot who must have just walked out of the jungle in the Philippines. She barely spoke English; talked like and auctioneer, and could not answer my questions. She then read from a script and made the usual lame excuses as to why hughes.net could not help. I always record my telephone calls (for training purposes, of course). She just bought some priceless advertising for hughes.net...you can guess as to how positive it is going to be. I wonder how soon I wll hear back from 60 Minutes? They offer $100.00 for referrals, but I would prefer to pay my friends $100 to not sign up with these human parasites, who make the idiot in the White House look like a saint. I would never offend anyone by suggesting they sign up for hughes.net. They make users understand how the Jews in Germany must have felt under the Gestapo....you are not allowed to complain, and you take what they give you and pay their ourtageous premiums which are nothing short of simple financial rape. They keep raising the monthly premiums and regularly delete chanels. Customers are forced to pay for non-English-speaking channels which come bundled with other channels which hawk nothing but garbage and call it "merchandise". They are an insult to both human decency and basic intelligence. The only word to describe them is,,,PARASITES!!!

I would have to agree with the customer service at Hughes Net. It is extremely hard to understand the operators that are from another country. We live in a very rural area and they are the only company available to us. We did have an issue with the service not working and they would send a technician for $29.00 which we refused to pay since we carried the insurance on the equipment as well. The technician we had for the original install and the service work was Bruce L. from the Indiana area and he was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!! I wanted to post something positive that became of the issues we had with Hughes Net. He was a delight and extremely polite. I would try to request him if possible.

This is the absolute worst service I've ever had.The connection barely works, the data is limited, and the customer service ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!!! They are a bait and switch company. They promised there was not a contract and offered a good price at $35, however now that the service is at the house the cost is $65 with a two year contract. THESE PEOPLE ARE LYING PIECES OF S%&!. Never do business with such a company. I don't mind paying for good service, but no service is hard to pay for.

Dishonest. Lied to me stating it would work in my area. It did not and when I tried to cancel for misleading me, they sent collection after me. They also claim none of my calls to them which were over 20, were not on file. Every person I talked to did not seem to know what they were doing and would recite the same thing. NEVER do business with Hughes Net.

TERRIBLE customer service!!! Very rude and if I wasn't tied to a contract I would find another provider. I highly DO NOT recommend Hughes Net! And their upgrade was a joke! I couldn't tell any difference in it, in fact it is slower!!!!

I have been trying to get my pole reset for a while now . We have made numerous calls. My husband talked to your customer service and they finally said they would send out someone to fix it for $29.99. We have your insurance. They sent out a tech and he looked at the modem and said "no it's not the modem it's your pole- it's loose because it wasn't installed right." So now after waiting several more days I get a call that a tech is going to be coming out. When I called back, they said I would have to pay $145.00. I called your customer service (in the Phillipines- and they said that my service is working. I tried and tried to explain that we sometimes can get it to work if we prop wood against the pole and move it around for hours- the pole is so loose in its hole that it can be moved approx 8" all the way around. They either can't understand me or don't want to understand the problem. I asked to speak with another agent or the supervisor and was told that I can not. My husband and I own a service company and if we would treat customers the way that we have been treated, we would not be in business. Also, the government had given you a contract in our area to help people be able to afford your service and I wonder if they are aware of the negative reviews your are getting.

What customer service. It is impossible to reach a live person, unless you need tech support and then it is Kuala Lampur or some such place. Prior to updating to Gen 4 I would have recommended Hughes Net to anyone. Ever since the upgrade I have had nothing but trouble. If I weren't tied to a new contract, I would change service.

This is the worst company ever. The internet runs really slow and they charge for additional usage. I would never recommend them to anyone. They also charge your debit card when you no longer have the service. What a joke? Buyer be ware.....

Your employee, Travis Mabee, of Hinsdale, NY, installed my new equiptment on February 25, 2014. He had my husband dig the hole for the post the dish was going on. He "installed" the dish, then told me in three days he would be back to re pinpoint the dish (as it was only at 80 percent). I called five days after the installation, no response! Then texted him lastnight (March 29, 2014). He responded this morning with yelling and threatening to call the cops on me for having a want for him to complete his job. He claims my computer is the problem. The actual problem is, I try to just get connected and i\I get a notification that there are no connections. Then randomly the connections are available. That is not a result of the computer, it's the dish not being at 100 percent.
