To Whom It May Concern:
If you ever want to give a gift that wont last long give someone a Magnavox! I spent a good sum of money on the damn TV and now they want more to fix it! Get the hell out of here!!! The only good thing I can say is; technical support Mika 8635 was wonderful and sweet even though I was yelling! Give that woman a raise for having to deal with upset Magnavox customers like myself!

A Very Upset Stud!!!!

Ironically I just received an invitation from Magnavox Corp. to purchase an extended Magnavox Extended Service Plan on my 26" LED TV before the warranty expired. My TV's input power supply had failed last month, so I tried to find out if I had any opportunity to get it fixed at a service center under the warranty provisions. Well its like emailing and calling a brick wall. Thought you might like to see the come-on they sent with the extended Service Plan invitation.
"Since you invested in a Magnavox LCD TV, you've been enjoying advances in LCD TV design and technology.

Before you know it, your manufacturer's warranty will expire, so there's never been a better time to extend your coverage. Maximize the life of your product and avoid unexpected repair bills by purchasing a Magnavox Extended Service Plan. It's simple! Just click on View Offers Now and enter your invitation number to select your extended coverage term.

Our extensive nationwide service network consists of factory trained technicians who are committed to keeping your product in good working order. After all, no one knows more about your LCD TV than we do!"

What a pile of horse hockey!

I called to ask about a problem I was having with an electronic product I had purchased less than 30 days ago. After spending some time on the phone with the customer service rep she advised that the unit was defective and needed to be serviced and that they were showing it was out of warranty. I told her I had ordered it less than 30 days ago. She asked where I ordered it from. I told her Amazon. She said there is no way of knowing how many people may have bought and returned the unit before I received it. Okay, that is true. But what she told me next was a real hoot. She said the original purchase date was in 2003! I told her this product did not exist in 2003. She said it could have. I assured her this one was not 10 years old. Nonetheless, Magnavox does not intend to do anything to remedy the situation and the lady I spoke to was rude as well. I called Amazon and spoke to a very courteous lady and explained the situation. She said I could return the unit for a complete refund or receive a replacement item. And of course they would send me a prepaid shipping label for the return. Yeah for Amazon, boo for Magnavox. I would have to agree with the comments made by others - stay away from Magnavox products.

I am going on every site possible to warned people about Magnavox TV's and their warranty manufacturer Funai.
I purchased a Magnavox TV from Target Store in 2012 during black Friday sale. It went out on me before the 90days warranty with Target. I was able to return it to the store and exchange it for a new one. The new TV only lasted for 10 months and I had to go through the manufacturer warranty, which is a company call Funai. I called them and I was told that my TV was still under warranty with them and that I had to pay $110.00 for them to send a box out for me send it back for repairs by FED-X. I was also told that if my TV could not be fixed they would send out a re-furbished TV like new.

I was a little upset about me having to make an additional payment to get the
TV repaired. I received the box within 2weeks and I immediately packed the TV into the box and called FED-X to pick it up. I was without a TV for six weeks, and it was very difficult for me not having a TV to watch football games.

The TV had a power problem, it would not stay powered up for some reason another. When I received the TV, back it was all scratched up around the screen and scratches’ on the screen it was horrible looking. I could not believe Funai would send me such a defected TV.

I called them the next day after receiving the TV and explained to them the defects on the TV, I was told to take pictures of the damage and send those pictures by email, and someone would call me back once they received the pictures. The next day I received a called from Funai Rep. apologizing and they would send me out another box for me to return the TV to them in for repairs. I told the Rep. that I had been without a TV for six week and that I was a disabled woman and my TV was entertainment for me. I asked if I could talk to her supervisor and she put me on hold for a few minutes. I had suggested to her if they could send me another TV out by FED-X and when I receive the TV, I would give FED-X the defected one to be mailed back in this way being that it was their fault on their end I would not be without a TV for so long.

The supervisor told me she would have to call me back after she talks to her supervisor. I waited four days and no call and I had to call her back just to be told her boss have
declined my request. Therefore, now I have to be without a TV again four to 8 weeks.

I thought consumers should know about this matter and I would not buy another Magnavox TV. I am going to go to Best Buy or Fry’s to purchase me a TV and give the Magnavox away to charity.

I have tried to get help three times now since yesterday and the people I have talked to are incompetant. Please where can I get my answers answered. Everyone was American but seemed to be ethnic and unaware of how to talk to people.
STUPID but glad that they are working now and hopefully off of welfare.

I have been reading a lot of the responses here and every single one of them are justified. I currently work customer support for Magnavox and the policies in place are abysmal. Outside of your 90 days? Good luck unless you have a tv less than 26". 32's run 70 for repair, anything larger runs $110. Up to two weeks to get labels and/or packaging. Don't use the out of warranty repair service. You pay up to $150 and if we can't fix your tv, you're out of luck. The people here think our support is just another paycheck and don't really care for quality support. Pay a little more for brands like Sony, Vizio, and LG... You'll appreciate less of a headache in the long run with those companies.

The worse company. Do not buy a tv from them. Called because ive had my tv for a little over 3 months and the sound went bad. Customer service is no help. All they want is your money to send the tv to them to fix. Why is there a problem so soon with a 3 month tv? Customer service asked me to do one thing and then said there is something internally wrong with the tv. Your out of the 90 day warranty, but for $70 you can send it in to us to look at and fix. What the heck, you didnt help me at all.

This company is completely unreachable when it comes to customer service.
Apparently this company sees a distinction between Philips Magnavox products and Magnavox products. I don't.
My tv simply says Magnavox on it. So when I want to call someone for help with the sound on the tv, Magnavox won't help because it's ``not one of their products.'' If you try calling the other number for Philips Magnavox, there's a recording telling you no one is going to answer and that you should look up help in the yellow pages.
What kind of messed up company is this???? I will never ever by a Magnavox anything until the day I die.

DO NOT BUY MAGNAVOX!!!! I have a 40" LED TV I purchased new. After 9 months it stopped working, I called the Warrenty number and their customer service representatives are aweful! After an hour she finally submitted my request and informed me it would take 2 weeks for me to recieve packaging, 4-8 weeks for the repair, and approx. 2 weeks for return shipping. She then asked if I still wanted to proceed?
Sony, Samsung I have dealt with their warrenty and it is easy and fast, this is a joke!!!!

I called in for support with my TV and gave the model number listed on my manual and also on the back of my TV and the rep. said she could not help me unless I gave her the correct model number. I told her that was the only model number I had and she kept insisting it was the wrong number and could not help me unless I gave her the right number. What other number is there except for the number on the back of the TV and on the manual. She offered no help.

Worthless company. Having blown non-salvageable $79.99, my next best option is to vent anonymously online.

I bought a $79.99 Blu-Ray player as an accessory to my new HD television on Black Friday of '11. The Blu-Ray player stopped working after having it for less than a year. I did not call until today, so I guess that is my fault. Customer support did not offer any help, as I was "way over warranty," which supposedly ended on 11//28/12. Her recommendation: plug the DVD player into a different TV or try a different HDMI cable. Having already explored those options, as any reasonable human being would, she recommended I purchase a new DVD player. Fan--tastic, $79.99 (plus tax) down the drain.

Absolutely the worst company i have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Never will I buy anything from Magnavox again. They suck!!!!!

Bought a 32' TV and here I am not even a year later and the cable bolt ripped out of the back of the TV. They want almost $100 to fix it when I only paid $200 for it. Now why would I pay half the amount the TV cost in the first place to be fixed. It hasn't even been a year and I think it should be fixed for free. I will never purchase magnavox ever again!!

In my experiences customer support has helped me learn more about the product I've purchased from, even if they can't answer my questions right away I've had help from Apple and Sony and everybody. When I contacted Magnavox about my issues they couldn't tell me anything but to buy a new TV. The representative went as far as to tell me she "can't just snap my fingers and magically deliver the answer's I'm looking for" even after I explained my issue she couldn't direct me to anyone for help.
Stupid, dumb, Magnavox.

You can't have support representatives that can't even offer sympathy in why you contacted them in the first place. Grow some manners.

I bought a 26 inch Magnavox TV at Sam's Club. In trying to connect the TV to our cable network and a DVD/VCR, it didn't want to work. The set came with a support number (866-341-3738); while I have not had very good luck with most customer support personnel, the lady who helped me with these issues was knowledgeable, patient, and very helpful. If the TV is as good as the customer support, they have my business for life!

Bought a MDR515H DVR on 7-7-11. Warranty was good to 7-7-12. On 7-20-12 unit stopped working. Called Magnovox customer service same day. After being on hold for over 40 minutes was told there was nothing they would do. I know the year warranty had expired but it was only 13 days after. They could have done something. There will never be another magnovox product in my house.

I too have attempted to talk with tech support for a Magnavox LCD TV and was referred from one phone number to another and finally to a website which greets you with the following message: "You don't have permission to access /support/ on this server." So I guess I was being told to GFM. Well, I am crossing Magnavox and the parent company Philips off my list. What a lousy way to run a business.

I figure I made a mistake purchasing a Magnavox 41 inch LCD tv today. I have call 5 different numbers to register the product and 4 told me I called the wrong number, 2 gave me a different number that was wrong and the 1-886-433-3135 no one would speak to me after waiting on line for 11 minutes and 11 seconds.

It appears to me that Magnavox is not customer service oriented.

Magnavox sucks and so does the customer service and there warranty department. I've been trying to get my tv fixed for over a month and a half and do you think that someone would help me hell no

I called the Magnavox Support number and was on the phone for at least 30 minutes. This is ridiculous. They say I am such an important customer yet I can't get through to them. As a result, I will stop buying Magnavox equipment if I cannot get help when needed. NOT SATISFIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a 46" LCD from Target last July and at the end of June it failed. Later I find out after many calls to their crappy "customer support" that the TV had a 90 day warranty for labor and a year for parts. What the hell kind of company does this?! I've NEVER had ANY kind of issues like this as most items that have a year warranty covers both parts AND labor - had I known (which I do now) I would not have bought this POS TV and I will NEVER buy ANYTHING from them again!!

1 year warranty, but only 90 days labor? WTF? I bought a 37" model 37mf301b in January and its dead in June, now they want $110 to fix it. Based on the nearly $400 after taxes I spent on this POS, I would expect to get at least a year out of it, and had that been the case I wouldn't be fussing about it. I still have a 36" Tube TV from maganvox that is working with minimal issues some 13 years after I purchased it for $500+, yet they cant make a LCD that can last a full year for $350? The long and short of it, is if a company has no confidence in their own product why should we as consumers feel differently. If you cant stand behind your product for a reasonable term, then obviously you don't deserve our business, and shouldn't be surprised by declining profits. Thanks for enlightening me about your commitment to quality and customer service, message received.

They seem not to care about the customers after the sale. No support by computer or over the phone. Like all the other comments, will not purchase another magnavox product and will tell everyone I see.
