Broken Record But Worst Customer Service Ever Since Capital Took Over. I've Been Trying To Make A Payment For 5 Days Now Over The Phone Using My Debit Card. I've Sent Emails No Response; I Will Be Charged A Late Fee If I Don't Get This Paid And It Won't Be My Fault.

The Phone Number Is Useless Because Is Doesn't Recognize My Account Number Or Social Security Number - Then It Doesn't Give The Option Of Speaking With A Rep.!

This issue with money laundering is typical of HSBC's arrogant attitude. They refused to release money my wife and I had in Singapore (she is Singaporean) making it necessary to fly there at my expense. This was despite having had paid about USD100 for a bank guaranteed signature and an insurance premium to get this. They just ignored our correspondence. HSBC is owned by Swire another notable British arrogant elitist company. I dealt w/ the egotisitical Swire captains despite paying their charter. You would have had to say who is the client here and who is the glorified taxi driver - Swire, HSBC and BP should be banned from doing business in the USA.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, when you call the
customer service, you have to WAIT for approximately HALF AN HOUR, before anyone ANSWERS your call.
Then when they finally answer, they ALWAYS tell you, 'oh, we apologize, our call volume is high'
Yeah right, their call volume has been high for more than a year now.
I don't understand at all.

I have found it almost impossible to deal with HSBC now that you have closed upstate banks. I need to set up an In Trust account by moving funds from an Advanced Savings Account in NYC branch (2411 Broadway) where I have POA for an aged relative. Your customer service line is always busy OR there is sometimes a message saying that the number is out of service.
This is NO WAY to assist customers.

Worst company ever! I paid my insurance for job loss faithfully while I was working and paying off my cc. When I became unemployed I filed a claim and was told I was approved. Six months later I received a notice with back fees and a rejection letter statng that I did not provide the necessary paperwork!!!!!! Unbelievable as they then started calling me everyday, sometimes ten times a day. I had to report them to the fair credit reporting agency to get them to stop harassing me for a bill that they told me was taken care of! Unbelievable but true. Now I understand

IS IT TO MUCH TO ASK... That if the company issues something in the USA ... That they have customer rep's in the same country??? I don't know about any of you.. But talking to someone that has a out source job... just doesn't feel safe to me, for some reason.

Also since capital one has bought the hsbc accounts . Has anyone ese been told that you are not you, and been locked out of your accounts???? I Hate both companies now more then ever....

I too am having trouble trying to set up automatic payment..have been on my computer 1 hr.no success!! Rejects my ss.# rejects my card# and CANNOT find account #!! Tried to email HSBC for help.. Guess What..Not Working!!Unbelieveable!!!!!! Cannot reach live person. Now, I have to go back to Best Buy where I bought my washer and dryer to get HELP!! This Stinks!! I have never had problems like this with any other company. When I try to send this, it probably will not take this either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I needed to contact a live person to see about having my name removed as an authorized user on my ex-husband's account. This was adversely affecting my credit score. I used the tips on this site to get a live person in new accounts and he transferred me to the appropriate department where I received fast, friendly service and my request was immediately taken care of. The direct number for HSBC credit card accounts and the Capital One accounts that they also manage is 888-385-8916. Hope this helps!

I contacted them in July to request a copy of my title to be sent since I had lost the copy I was given at purchase. They have given me the run around over and over and now it is October and they are telling me the paperwork will take 30 days to arrive. When it shows, I'll put money on it that it's the wrong paperwork. These folks can't seem to get it right.

Worst Customer service. My husband lost his card. We dont have join account. Atleast cant they put mastercard on hold until they reach him. Stupid people. She hung up on me. The first I do is I will make sure me and allthe friends never use this company.

I have called numerous times this morning to make a telephone payment. Consistently, my social security number and account number are called invalid. I am extremely frustrated. I have made telephone payments before without this problem.

I received a letter from GM to transfer credit card balances for 0% rate. I wrote a check and transferred $ 1900. The next month I received my statement with $24 interest charge. I contacted customer service and the manager told me they made a mistake and would credit the charge back. The next statement came with another interest charge and no credit from the previous month. Again, we are so sorry but we will credit that to your account. This is the third month and now they have decided the check they gladly accepted was not under the zero percent. They never called me to discuss the matter. Now they said too bad, we are not crediting the account, and it is remaining at 13.99%. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. They are liars!

Over a year ago I paid off a credit account I had with them through Best Buy. Somehow they "never received the payment" even though I faxed them proof it was paid off.
They sold my account to over 20 different collection agencies, who have threatened to take my home, car, take me to court, and one even said they would send the cops to my home to arrest me.
I have sent each company proof I have paid off the money I owed, and it goes silent for a few months, until the calls start up again. It is impossible to reach anyone at HSBC, and anyone I can get a hold of can't help me.

TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! I have never received a notice that my debit cards will expire on SEPTEMBER 2010. And, I never received an updated debit card. I was out of the country on vacation anticipating using that card. I stopped at one of the banking locations while out of the country....NO HELP THERE EITHER. This bank sucks! And of course, they can't help you and don't really attempt to. My accounts with both will be cancelled!

All I can say is UNBELIEVABLE! Just today I received a notice that our debit cards will expire on july 13. my son is out of the country and is depending on that card for support for the summer. I think a notice about something like that should have been send out long before June 19th for a July 13 deadline. This bank has always sucked and now it sucks even more. And of course, they can't help you. Neither can Key Bank. Oh well, all of my accounts with both will be cancelled!

Seems to me they have no idea where the accts are at. Tried all info, up and including social insurance #, still they could not find me in the system. Called with the actual account number and still they said it was not in their system.

Horrible company to deal with, no customer service, and outrageous interests on their loans!

I was approved for a hardship payment for my mortgage, IF I mailed my 2 months by the 19th of each month. May no problem. mailed June to SAME address and now they are saying we haven't received it and will not grant me the hardship. They want another payment!!!! until I get the other back. I am on disability, and live month to month no extra income. What a company.........10 - 1 the payment is setting there somewhere.

Horrible company to try and deal with online. Tyring to make a payment and couldn't talk to a live person and website refused to recogize my credit card number, social security number or any other form of ID.

Here is a nice little tidbit for all of you unlucky HSBC customers. I found out HSBC was going through bankruptcy as far back as 2004! One year before I took out a home loan with them. WHYYYY were they even accepting any new loans???!! They managed to keep it under wraps til 2009. Nice. We now have to walk away from it, high interest of 12%, which is insane! Playing the waiting game with them. They have no leg to stand on, I WILL win.

WORSE COMPANY EVER!!!! You can not talk to a person easily, they never return my calls as 'promised' and they are rude!!! Will not be using them again as they have cuased me nothing but stress and hours of waiting on the phone only to be disconnected/told the person has left/or be transferred 5 times until someone can help me.
