It would be very helpful for your company to be more customer friendly, such as having an actual person to speak to. This is so frustrating trying to dispute items on my credit report and I have no one to speak to. Your Customer Service is the worst, and your a Customer Service based business. It would be probably a financial gain for your company to read all of the complaints, and fix the problem.

I called 15 times today and every time the phone call lasted for approximately 1 1/2 minutes. As soon as they asked me for my SSN the called dropped. I called from 3 different phones, so it wasn't on my end!!! Once or twice would have been no big deal, but 15 times!!!????? Experian plays a lot of games. I never did get to a point where I provided my entire SSN. Anybody else experienced this problem?

Experian is reporting my dad's info onto my report. We have the same name so I figured it would be a simple fix like it was with the other 2 agencies. I had a copy of the issue from my bank but when I called there was no way to speak with a human without a report number, which experian appears to sell for only a dollar. I gave in and bought the report, noticing the fine print saying I had to call some number within 7 days or be charged $19 monthly. Ugh.

I hit approve and get an error message. Recheck my info, perfect, try again and it shows me my report. There were false cards and my personal information was packed full of mistakes. I click to dispute the first innacurate card and it wouldn't let me then gave me a number to call.

After ten minutes on the phone and not getting anything close to a person on the line I try the dispute online again and once I hit send it gave me an error message saying I was no longer allowed to dispute online. For security purposes it wouldn't tell me why.

At this point it's getting ridiculous but far from over. Try for an hour to contact an actual person just in time to hear a message stating that they had just closed for the weekend. Guess I have to wait to start the process.

So today I called the number to prevent the $19 monthly charges. Extremely hard to understand the person but am basically told that I will have no way to clear up my dispute if I refuse to pay since they will immediately close the account with which I filed the dispute. They offer me half off as if it's a favor to only pay half the amount monthly for them to fix their own mistakes but hey I have a few days to figure it out before they charge and I do need to get this stuff removed.

I then try to sign into my experian account and it locks me out saying I triggered a security issue and to call some number to set it right. Call and after ten minutes they unlock it claiming I entered my info wrong, which absolutely did not happen. Finally I get back in, try to finish up filing the disputes and inaccurate personal info, and when I go to send it get a message that I am no longer allowed to file disputes online and must call some number. Call and no humans available until next Monday.

Out of curiosity I check my credit card company. Experian has charged me 3 separate one dollar fees. This means they set up three different accounts for which will be billed $19 EACH at the seven day mark. Serious scam. I call my card company who did a conference call with experian and cancelled all three accounts. I get a confirmation number and am told they have fifteen days to refund the two extra charges which I clearly never agreed to and we eventually get them to cancel any future charges and their insane revolving membership fees. The woman was furious at me for going through my card company, didn't even try to act professional.

Now I have wasted hours of my life, realize they have my report so backwards it's scary and seriously feel as if experian themselves are scamming me. I am now worse off than before I attempted to fix the original mistake, which is on their end, not mine. This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with and it is scary that they have access to anyone's credit information.

714 area code # worked. It is directly to their HQ in LA. In 15 min I had an answer. Quite amazing....why couldnt they just put this number on their website etc (I think I know) but I agree I hate the credit reporting companies as much as I hate banks...

Use the 717 number, an have your Pin ready! I was immediately transferred to a live person who FINALLY was able to help me out. If you are trying to remove your freeze, make sure the info you are entering is the same info that you used when you set up the freeze!

I had to call four different numbers before I got a real person on the line. Unfortunately they really can't even do much to help. I hate credit reporting agencies because unlike the protection that we have with medical info and HIPPA regulations, our other personal information...all of it can be purchased by anyone and false reports, including incorrect names and addresses, can end up on your report and be almost impossible to get rid of.

Terrible. Just Terrible! Cant access my report because I'm not answering their questions correctly. Obviously their info is wrong! The point is to view my report and speak to someone to fix the discrepencies. Duh!

Experian SUCKS - Useless, useless no one helps at all, just keep passing you around with different numbers for you to call and be placed on hold forever waiting for someone to help. Looks like my only option is to get an attorney involved and maybe they can get some sort of resolution for what I believe to be a false claim in collection.

I got through to a real person person with this number (800-493-1058). After giving report number and soc. sec. last 4 digits I hit 1 to file a dispute. Next I hit 0 (zero) instead of giving the credit item number. I didn't get asked to give the item number again. The virtual operator came back and went through items to choose, either hit 1 or 2. I hit 2. Sorry can't remember what it was for but it got me to the next level to be able to talk directly to a live person. Word to the wise ~ Be wary signing up for the monthly services for monitoring your credit report. It can be impossible to cancel and if you have errors that show up on your report they can't solve them. Also Put a Freeze on all your accounts with the three credit bureaus. No one can then make changes to your accounts without you being contacted. If you need a loan you can unfreeze your account. There is a charge to freeze and unfreeze but it is well worth it. Clark Howard from HLN recommends this too. Good luck!!!!

This company is a cluster ... they are as unethical as the banks that they report to. I too purchased a credit report thru freecreditreport.com and since I did not have a report number was unable to dispute three items on the report. I ended up having to order another report. What a crock of S#@*!

I tried to receive my free annual credit report for both my wife and I and each time I received a message saying they were unable to honor the request and showed a form I could fill out and send in requesting the report by mail. If I needed the report in a hurry I could get it by overnight delivery for $20.00. I think the government should take a look at this company. I am going to see if there is some way I can file a complaint with the FTC.

I called to get more information about a creditor on my report that was just reported. I tried to find as much information about the creditor to inquire what the debt was to settle this myself. In my attempt to find the information I found out the creditor is very shady and puts past debts that have been written off or settled back on a report, In other words re-aging a debt making it legally collectable. Since this company buys junk debit and outsources it collections there is little I can do to contact them if I no longer have any collection letters with issuing agency information.
So I called Experian to see if they can help since they put the information on my report……..
In my efforts to get information from Experian to find out what/how this information was reported and if they had contact information for the company since my attempts have failed I get zero help.
Ultimately the customer service is a waste of time if you have not paid for a credit report directly from their website they want nothing to do with you. If you have a report number but it is not from their website they can’t help you and direct you to claim a dispute online. Again the online service will not let you claim a dispute unless you have a report directly from their company. I don’t trust this company since it has no means to verify information and lets any creditor report information that may be fraudulent. And the only way to deal with them if you haven’t paid for their report is by mail. Consumer beware!

I was listed as a defaulter by British Gas when I did not owe them anything. What I did find out was that if someone is putting adverse information about you on Experian then they have to inform you by law. This was not done in my case and Experian do not appear to have systems in place to ensure that this has been done. These companies should be rigorously supervised by the government.

I cancelled THE DAY I tried to get my credit report! There was some issue with the way I answered a question (which may indicate fraud, you know) so my credit report would have to come in the mail. The mail is the problem! My mail gets stolen! So I said forget it and they reminded me of my 30 days free and all this other crap to try to get me to stay. I canceled. So, today, 2 days after giving these crooks my credit card number (I had a free 30 day trial!!!) I have a $29.99 charge!!! I can't get a hold of ANYONE!!!!

I have tried to contact Experian over 7 times this morning. Every time they get my debit card number tor reverse charges the phone hangs up. Other people have complained of the same issue. This company is a FRAUD and set up to cheat the people of the United States of America.

Experian made a mistake on my credit report by listing my son's home on my report. I cannot find a way to talk to anyone to get this fixed. My bank says this is an Experian problem. The report number they gave me does not work for the Experian online report dispute program. This is very poor customer service in my point of view!

I called the number listed next to the charge on my bank statement 877-297-7790.Within 5 minutes, the customer representative pleasantly and effetively issued a refund and stoppoed future charges. After seeing all the bad experiences on these comments, i am grateful that mine was so easy.

They refused to give me my annual free credit report online, with no reason for the refusal. They insisted I mail in a bunch of identifying information. When I tried to call, I could not reach a person. After an hour or so going through various menus, I gave up. This company is the worst.

The alternate number given by this number when the office is closed is no good. It's a constant busy signal.

This is THE worst company ever. I would urge anyone that has had a problem with them to file a complaint with the FTC.

I have now been cut off over 6 times today but I ask the customer service rep and they are reporting no phone issues.

You listed a phone number that I could reach a live person and NO one was there and I need to resolve my problem!! I am a mature person and don't have a lot of computer skills!,
