Why are you soliciting feedback when nothing operationally changes at the monopoly called Air Canada? This comment thread is a PUBLIC RELATIONS illusion because, as customers who are forced to fly with you, we generally agree that in 2013, IF we had a choice, you would be OUT OF BUSINESS.

Your airline does not deserve to be functioning, because you make incredible claims about service and offer NONE.

customer service could Possibly be the worst out there. over two hours on hold to make minor change. Why on earth would anyone want to use this airline!!! They seriously need to consult whats brings customers, not deter them.. brutal

Booked my flight and got my boarding pass on line. Never saw any opportunity to ask for wheelchair service. Called Customer Support, was told to leave a message and willbe called back. Never happened. Asked Aeroplan to help, they keptme on the line for hours. What to do?Both my wife and I in need of wheelchairs.

2013 Feb 22, on hold for an hour very late in the evening, gave up.

2013 Feb 23, on hold for 45min, in the morning, gave up, had to leave the house

2013 Feb 24, wtf it's morning, 1888-247-2262 line is busy, how can that happen. Did we lose all of them through the weather?

Why do I have to call an agent to add/book kid's ticket. It's 2013 and it's still operating like the 90s. In fact if they did everything correctly they could save money by providing full service online. We are talking about Air Canada, world worse customer support.

I always have the worst experience when it comes to travelling with Air Canada. I was on phone with them for 1 hour for couple of times to reconfirm my parents tickets but was useless and finally after 4 days when I got to talk to the agent, it even was a disaster, I had some body on phone who does not understand me and can not make me understand. The problem is, we do not have any other choice, we have to take Air Canada to London and then another connecting air line, as they do not let those air lines operate from Vancouver. Well guys if you can not compete with other air lines then at least try to be little bit professional. Well now we have a choice and we will fly from USA as its cheaper and only one and half hour drive from our place. BYE BYE AIR CANADA

I have been trying to book flights from San Jose Cabo Mexico (SJD) to Vancouver for our return flight January 5th2014 on the direct Air Canada flight 1803. I started looking for flights in January and there were no seats available in economy only first and business class In the middle of Feb I was able to get 2 economy class tickets.I find it strange that all seats had been completly sold out right away Is this a strange marketing trick our are they all being held for all inclusive holiday. I need another 6 seats which I find hard to believe you do not have available. Of course it is impossible to speak to someone that would possibly shed a little light on this strange occurance. Very Disappointed in Air Canada

had to leave my house to go out after and hour & 42 minutes of holding to tell them that my son is only 15 & I booked him as an adult. air nightmare!! I've always said. very rude & ignorant as well at airport customer service. the newbies are fine, its the older ones with the attitude that I always have a hard time dealing with... oh well, I'm home again, back to calling air nightmare... yikes. p' oed frequent flyer!

Customer service SUCKS. Every time I need to speak to them, the wait time is at least 30min to 1 hour. My flight recently was canceled due to the snow storm. The counter people wouldn't reschedule my flight. I tried to call customer service but couldn't be able to get through the line in the last 3 days. This is so ridiculous. I really hope I could get my money back.

This is the worst airline in Canada. The meals and the inflight entertainment are so poor. Nobody would clean up the toilet and once the meals are served, they all went hidding until the next meal before landing. All of them simply waiting for retirement and have no pride to serve their passengers and the company knows it but could not careless. I flew this airline five times from YVR to HKG and this is the only airline has empty seats while others were fully occupied such as Cathay Pacific, Korean Air and JAL.
The help-desk promised to issue me a C$ 75.00 coupon for my return flight from HKG to YVR but never did and as a Prestige passenger, only one piece of luggage can be check-in. It is an international flight and all other airlines would give two pieces of luggage allowance EXCEPT Air Canada. The reason I am taking their flight is it is a direct flight from YVR to HKG and I do not expect any services at all coz they have no services to offer. They simply do not know anything about customers services. They are the Canadian version of United Airline. It is the worst airline I had ever experienced.

Have been waiting for 3 months to get an issue resolved. I have been unable to talk to anyone in 'customer service' (if that exists). All emails are responded with an automatic generic message.

Have been on hold for total of 3 hours yesterday and another 3 hours today....can't speak to anyone. Just need to do seat selection...would be happy to do online, but the website says I have to talk to them on the phone....how arrogant and rude is this company?! As other people have said it is beyond ridiculous that the entire time you are on hold you have to listen to advertising AND hear them boast about their recent awards!

The most horrible company to fly with. Flight attendants only serve you one crappy lunch and some drinks for an eight hour flight over the ocean and get upset if you dare to ask them some more water. Do not bother trying to complain. It will not take you anywhere. Simply, use a different company.

on a trip to newbrunswick our flight was cancelled and ticket agent in montreal stated we would recieve a full refund of our trip as we never made it to our destination.so he flew us back home to windsor.after starting our claim-through flight network as that was who we booked through,we have only been rebated less than half,we were told by the air canada ticket agent in montreal that he put it on our file that we would recieve a full refund,,,,still fighting with flightnetwork and air canada as no one wants to get back to us,,,,bad customer service on both companies.

One hour 13 minutes!!! How can this company win any award??? Who gave then the award, sure the hell was not the customers that are waiting HOURS to talk to someone!!!I can't believe this! I am still waiting and I will enjoy running them in the ground over this one!!!!

Worst cutomer relations ever.
I've seen auto shops who are more responsive AND answer the phone on occassion. These people obviously DON'T care. Inmmpossible to contact. West Jet from now on. Cancelled my Aeromiles Visa too. Went with MasterCard. Damn arrogant protected Canadian whiners.

I travelled with Air Canada from St. John's to Toronto and Toronto to Calgary on Jan 2, 2013 and was traveling with my husband and two children (4 and 6). When I tried to Pre-Check In at home I could not select our seats to sit together and when I arrived at the airport in St. John's they told me there was nothing they could do and I would have to ask at the gate. When I got at the gate in St. john's the lady fixed my seating on the flight to toronto but could not fix the seating on the flight to Calgary from Toronto. We were told on our flight that the connector in Toronto would be waiting for us and that we would have to go to the gate right away. I mentioned our seating problem to the airline stewardess on that flight but they said we would have to ask people on the flight to switch with us. We asked the last at the gate if she could fix it but she couldn't because the plane was already loaded. When we got on the plane no one would change seats with us so I had a 4 year old and a 6 year old sitting with strangers!! I think this is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional! My 4 year old cried himself to sleep and when he woke up I sat him on my lap for the rest of the 4 hour flight until I strapped him in his own seat for the landing. The stewardess asked us in front of everyone if we asked the other people to switch and i simply told her that after spending $4000 on plane tickets, it shouldn't be our responsibility or anyone elses besides Air Canada to make sure that kids sit with their parents. Isn't there a reason we put their age and select child on their tickets when we book them??

I flew out of NYC La Guardia airport on Sunday, January 13th to Toronto. The flight number was UA8231. My hat and gloves fell out of my coat. The Air Canada Stewardess and the United Airline service people found my hat and gloves and left them in customer service for me. I retrieved them on Tuesday when they returned. Everyone couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you!!

Unbelievable... have spent a total of 6 hours on hold over the past two days. Called once, got some information (guess I got lucky getting through that time) and the agent gave me some options that I had to check with my boss. Agent said, "No problem, just call back". Right. I've called 5 times and held for over 1.5 hours each time. Presently my phone says its been one hour and 38 minutes ... and the battery is about to die ....
This is a simple transaction that I needed to do for work, but now it's consuming my whole weekend. Worst part is, they keep looping this recording congratulating themselves on a recent award that they received for "excellent service", if you will. Also even if you choose the option that indicates you "need help with the website" ... the recording asks you over and over "Have you visited aircanada.com lately?" The WORST.

Phoned reservations as there was a spelling error on my reservation. Phoned 7:00 pacific time and waited for 1 hr --no answer. this is terrible customer service
