I purchased a Nikon L30 on Oct. 15th. It froze and quit working on Nov. 15. I used it for one month. I contacted Nikon who gave me instructions to ship it in to Precision Camera, an authorized customer repair unit. Precision kept it for 10 days, never once contacting me about the status, and sent it back unrepaired, declaring that it was corroded. I am still in shock. I used the camera for one month.....batteries were used for one month...and it is supposedly corroded. I called Nikon to report this quandary. they will do nothing but give me another address of another place to send it. I have already spent fifteen dollars to ship it the first time. Mind you, this camera is clearly under warranty. Obviously, it is not going to be replaced, nor will the store exchange it, because they say this is Nikon's issue. I was also told that if I take it to a camera shop in my area and they repair it, I will not be reimbursed. I tried to talk with someone at Precision on several occasions, and their operator nor their customer service will pick up the phone. Bottom line is that I have a one month old Nikon camera that will not work. I am out a hundred dollars when I add the cost of shipping it to Precision. This same ordeal happened to my son and he had a $2,000.00 camera!! No more Nikon for us! I will be report this bad business on Facebook, Angie's List, and filing a formal complaint with the BBB shortly.
