I work personally for medicare. Quick tip, when you call press "0" to get straight to a person. If your question is refereed to Social Security, press "0 0" when you call Social Security directly. Also, if you are a provider, if you call medicare all you will do is get refereed to the "provider line," which you, as a medicare provider, should know the phone number to. We, as customer service representatives are not actually allowed to give a provider information. Also, if you are wanting to know if a specific operation or procedure is covered, you need to get your Dr. to call the provider line, because we can only give general information.
