I tried using the 1-888-849-0846 number and was told the number was no longer in service. When I tried the on line listing, I got directed to other sites, not the one I needed. My problem is, I have 2 Nextar MA566 Digital M3 Players which I bought as the same time. 1 I have
used for 4 or more years, the 2nd I just opened up today. I could not get the 1st one to turn on. I changed the battery several times, but it still does not turn on. When I opened the 2nd one, I installed the battery, but it would not turn on either. I don't know why they don't work, the manual is non specific other than to replace the battery, what do I do to get them to work.
The first one worked well for a long time, but not to get the new one to work is really I really do not want to pay for a new one. I purchased 8 of these players, I gave them as gifts to my children and grandchildren. When theirs stopped working after a year, I just thought it was because they downloaded too much music, or books on tape and they were worn out from too much use, or because they were too immature to take care of something so small, but I only used my
player to listen to the radio. I never downloaded music, or recorded anything at all, just listen to music at my desk while working. Is there anything I can do to get at replacement for either one or both of the players?

I ordered the v5 unit prioer to going to florida Jan of 2013, opened it the day before trip, it has never worked. AMAZON refused to help because i opened it a couple of days after their 30 day policy, can't get in touch w/NEXTAR, by mail or phone A real peice of junk, useless is the only word for it

I agree Nextar completely sucks. However I saw online that Nextar was bought out by Tom Tom and called Tom Tom . The first time I called and the Tech support guy had no idea what I was talking about . I called the next day and just asked for a supervisor . It took about 20 minutes of sitting on hold but finally talked with the supervisor who said yes that Tom Tom bought out Nextar at the manufacturer level and will honor my warranty because I still had the receipt that showed it was under the three year warranty that I got from Sears when I purchased it. I received a ( refurbished ) Tom Tom gps with an additional one year warranty , got it last week so far so good and it is adoptable... As far as Nextar goes they sucked , but for Tom Tom two thumbs up but you have to demand a supervisor to get anything done , do not take no for an answer from the tech guy . he does not know anything about this apparently .

We purchased a nextar gps as of 2010, used it four times and it froze....... There is nothing on the screen, no noice no picture, nothing. The phone number that nextar has listed is no longer in service, which I have tried to locate nextar customer service and no answer

Received as agift. Did not have home state of AK or HI. Finally got fioxed now trying to get an update in maps and they do not even list my model # so I can not continue. Now they want me to make a $ 30 deposit to get a answer> Total BS, dissatisfied since day 1 with these people. A waste of money

not pleased coustomer service # is not active you want me to pay 28 dollars for info to fix and issue with a gps that i have only used approx.100 times it is giving me and illegal site it wants me to use and i still have no results it is not fixed is this another money scam from cyber space just can't win anymore

I agree with everyone. The only thing I can do is go to Tom Tom for support or maybe youtube to convert a nextar to Garmin software. The only problem is I can not get it to work like they show unless they mean it must be connected to your computer. No support means your product sucks where is the support?

Recently purchased a Nextar V5 GPS unit and during initial setup was instructed to go to Nuviextras.com (Toolbox) to download updates for my unit. Have been unable to get the unit and my computer to "talk" to each other for the purpose of downloading updated maps, etc.
Does anyone have any suggestions how I can complete the downloading of data from Neviextras.com via usb cable to my unit?

MAD AINT EVEN THE WORD, HAVENT HAD THE SYSTEM A MONTH AND ITS NOT WORKING,, I WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE WHEN IT STOPPED,,,,CRAPPY COMPANY--THEIR NUMBERS DONT EVEN WORK

I thought that I was the only one. I have a Q4 and this is actually my second GPS from Nextar. The first one malfunctioned and I thought that it was my fault because I didn't use it for over a year, it wouldn't even load. I purchased another (2009) thinking that it was just user error and now I get an update maps message when I turn it on. No contact information and no help, website has been shutdown and phones disconnected. This is the worst customer service or lack of service I have ever experienced.

Evidently they are no longer doing business because I have failed to get in contact for the past four months because the Nextar Q4 had a card was empty and void of maps or anything else just blank. I hope and pray that they have a clear heart and try to do what is best for their customers but I don't forsee that happening any time soon, if ever. Rev. My husband got a Nextar gps for christmas 3 years ago and used it once and the screen is black now wtf I called Nextar the day it happened and they were gonna send us a new one and then we were to send this one back to them and they never did. What a joke they cant even stand behind there crap.

Nextar x3-08 sucks. And the company is no where, every stupid website I find wants you to pay for answers. It's a joke. I am going to call to KOHL's Corporate office as I bought mine from a KOHLs Dept store, I'm going to advise them they should stop carring any of their crap products.

We've been using our Nextar Model Q4-01 since 2008 with no problems.

It was in use when all of a sudden a screen came up "file corrupted! Please run a virus check and than reinstall the application".

It also says "cannot start the main navigation engine! Please try again".

I have it plugged into my computer in hopes of it automatically downloading or something. Nothing is happening.

Husband needs this for his job tomorrow. Is it true there is no more customer service for Nextar?

I found that my nextar x3-03 uses intellinav maps and software. I went to their website, couldn't find a phone number for support. I e-mailed them and received no response. Maybe you'll have better luck.
I called Tom-Tom's support number and talked to a support tech. He knew nothing about Tom-Tom taking over Nextar's tech support. Good luck.

Do not belive in the person who's asking you to paid for answering your questions about your GPS Q4-06 or any electronic from Nextar..It's a scam. All they want is your money and then they take of. There will be no phone number neither a website for you to contact them..Try it the Better Busines Beuru (BBB) so they can start to tract them..bunch of scammers..

I HAVE 8 NEXTAR GPS'S THIS IS THE SECOND ONE THAT THE SCREEN HAS FROZE. I TRIED TO CALL THE 1888-849-0846 BUT THE NUMBER IS DIS-CONNECTED. I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP THIS GPS AS IT HAS ONLY BEEN USED A COUPLE OF TIMES . PLEASE ADVISE HOW TO TALK TO A

NEXTAR was apparently bought by TOMTOM. Someone told me that TOMTOM is providing support for NEXTAR customers, including repairs and map updates. But I cannot find any information on the TOMTOM website.

Nextar is the worst company ever. My Nextar GPS won't even boot up and I have not been able to reach anyone to get a software upgrade. This is the poorest excuse for customer service I have ever seen.

YOur link to their support site does not work ! I have been all over the internet to try to get updates for my gps and can't find a live site for Nextar...

I am trying to route a trip from Charlottesville VA to Manhattan NY. the gps says it's a 12 hour trip - it should not be more than 6 1/2 hours. Your phone number has been diconnected. When I tried to updat my date on the gps via computer, it did not work. THIS GPS IS USELESS. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR A PRODUCVT ZTHAT DOES NOT WORK!
