Called to the USabout repair to a cracked computer screen and if i could have it repaired. told guy from India I was in working in another country, no US, and he said in order to have my comuter repaired I would have to send it FedX to the company in the US. I asked him where and he said in order to give me the address and repair order number I would have to pay $191.00 to get this info. I asked if I could ship the comuter USPS from and APO address and he said would have to use FEDX so they could track the order. I told him USPS can also track a shipment as I do it all the time and he said no they don't, I would have to use FEDX. After a short discussion and refusing to pay $191.00 I hung up. Sorry, Sorry way to treat customers, and I have three Gateway laptops. Never again, go with another brand, not Acer as they support them also. If I had purchase one of the other popular brand I could have it repaired in the country I am working in right now. Am I fuming at Gateway. good luck if you have to deal with them.

Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY A GATEWAY. This is not a relationship that you want to get into. Gateway is defined by poor quality products and ZERO customer service. ZERO. I purchased an NV Series Gateway laptop and within the first two months had my first issue, I took it back to Best Buy and it was sent back to Gateway where they had to replace a piece of faulty hardware. A couple months later the Gateway laptop failed again, and once more I took it back to Best Buy who sent it off and had a new mother board installed. A few months later, the same thing happened, failure, and ANOTHER mother board had to be installed. At this point I was requesting a new computer because it was close to the end of what I consider a short one year warranty and I had already had so many failures and spent so many weeks without my computer. Well, not long after the warranty expired, so too did the battery. The Gateway battery had a catastrophic failure, I lost data and now the battery will not charge. Since that time, my Gateway laptop has become a desk top, always having to be tethered to a wall outlet. The most recent issue is that it will not start up; it keeps freezing and will not allow me to recover to the last good configuration. I have contacted Gateways tech support but they require a $200 fee for their help. I spent just under 2 hours getting the run around by their tech support and then a supervisor. When I told them I wanted to speak with a corporate customer service rep, I was given a phone number which ultimately got me to another call center in India where they finally admitted that they were in fact tech support as well and not customer service. What you can expect from Gateway is a shabby product that will be patched up and barely kept together until your warranty runs out and then you are on your own unless you want to cough up even more money and time to get it fixed (over the phone by the way). RUN LIKE HELL!

what a joke of a company. i bought a gateway pc 2 years ago, and ever since i bought i have had the same problem, and when i contacted anyone about it they told me the same thing, there is not way to fix the problem, a simple issue with the power cord beep and no one can figure out how to turn it off. i will never buy another gateway again, the customer service is a joke and i am going to turn this case over to the proper authorities, maybe they can get the answers i could not

Customer Service...none avaliable...does not exist.. your way to contact a live person dosen't work.. they found the flaw and fixed it to thier benifit not thier customer...thier web site to down load drivers locks up and wont go thier 9/10 of the time, when it does the downloads wont work as the zip files they use wont work.....

Unfortunately, I own a Gateway computer. This is the worst piece of junk I have ever owned. Service is a myth ... I don't really believe they have one.

I have a Gateway computer and from day one it has gotten hot and over heated. I have contacted Gateway about this on many occasions. Of course now today it not under warranty any more. This computer gets so hot it will burn your hand and that is with a cooling fan under it. It shuts itself off and I was told it does that when it gets so hot. Gateway chat agents aren't any help They tell what you want to hear. I will never own another gateway. This are junk and apparently Gateway doesn;t care about their customers or their products

Your published process for contacting a live person in Customer Support does not work. Your automated system does not let me talk to anyone because I do not have my SN, which is why I am trying to contact you so I can give the info to the law enforcement officer.....

I've had the same issues. 3 motherboards in 8 months , total BS. In the 8 months I owned its been in the shop for 5 months. NEVER, EVER, buy a GATEWAY.

I received a brand new Gateway touchscreen all-in-one computer for Christmas last year. It worked for about 5 months and then quit. Maneurving through their tech support system is terrible. I sent it back (my cost) and they replaced the mother board. It worked for about 3 months. I sent it back again and they did the same. It now worked for less than 2 months. It is by far the worst computer and company I have ever dealt with. The warranty is up very soon and I'm tired of spending the shipping money. I would like to sue them for the cost of the computer and the aggravation involved. DO NOT buy a Gateway computer EVER!!

It aggrevates me that Gateway would sell me a laptop without any install discs, wants to charge me $18.00 to talk to a technician and charge me to download a disc. Poor customer service in this day and age. I'll never buy nor recommend a gateway product again.

I purchased a touchscreen gateway computer that was a display model at NFM about a year ago. Didn't bother buying the warranty because it was 1/4 of the price of the computer. After minimal use my screen has stop working. My computer tech says that they have stop making this part. Since it was a display model, someone had stolen the serial number tag off of the back. Gateway refuses to Talk with me or Nebraska Furniture Mart because we do not have a Serial #. I'm not asking for anything free. I just need to buy the part for my computer that shouldn't have stop working after a year. NFM realizes that they shouldn't have sold it without that tag and are frantically trying to help resolve this. I will never buy another Gateway computer. I even had all of my receipts and paperwork.

My faithful Dell died after 6 years and three moves. I was at BestBuy and my daughter found a Gateway out-of-box that seemed a better deal than the small Toshiba laptop that was in my price range. The sales girl insisted it was a great buy. More memory and with a DVD, so I could watch and copy. Instead of going home and researching Gateway, I bought it. I got it home and it did not work. They took it back and said it had some stuff left on it and they wiped it. That took a day. However, when I got it home, it still did not work and kept getting updates and would hangups and freeze. The computer had to be unplugged to resolve the freezes. It refused to allow me to use my Dell 946 printer. The geek squad say it is the Vista program and microsoft issues. I am sorry, but the bottom line is that this purchase was a total waste of my my money. Never let someone rush you into a buy, do the research. If I had, I would not have bought this computer. I would have bought the Toshiba.

Worst laptop I have ever owned. Purchased model nv50a10u march 2011. I shortly noticed only one speaker worked and after 4 lengthy calls the tech finally noticed that this model only has one speaker. Why they would build a computer with one speaker baffles me and the fact that the specs never mentioned this. By may the hard drive had crashed. They replaced it not problem. By October 2011 the second hard drive has crashed. Gateway computers a crap and I would discourage any from purchasing.

just bought my gateway nv57h26u. if i would have known the company was bought by acer i would have spent another 150 for a sony. read reviews. extremeley helpful. thx dd for the 800#. got someone right away. hes even set a case for me. shouts out to david evans in tx for the work. hopefully ill b 1 of the lucky ones on the tech issues

When Gateway first got started they made their name by outstanding customer support. Over the years I have purchased a number of Gateway computers, each time the customer support seams to have gotten a little worse. Now it's to the point where I will never recommend Gateway to anyone. They need to rethink what got them to where they are today and go back to it, good solid customer support.

I have also had bad experiences with Gateway. I have had internet issues and when support is contacted that will not work with you until you have erased and reset your HD to factory specs. Who in their right mind wants to delete their HD. I have pushed up to speak to a manager and they were polite and explained that this is the service that Gateway has paid for on our warranty. Cannot blame the out of country support as this is what they are told to support. I will never purchase a Gateway product again. Customer support is one of things that will keep a company in business in the long run. As the other customer have reported SERVICE at gateway does not exist. I am still using my Dell Laptop and have had good warranty service from them as well as Sony, IBM and even Median. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If they have bonded with ACER I would not consider purchasing their products as well. I would not purchase any stock from Gateway or Acer as they will be going down in sales when customers spread the word.
NOTE: It appears from other customers that Internet disconnect is a common problem and that is what my problem is also. I am probably going to have to purchase another computer which is sad as this one look great and if the internet connect worked would be wonderful.

I just bought a Gateway for my daughter as a Christmas gift and have had nothing but problems with it. I took it back to Best Buy and they said they didn't find anything wrong - really? Is it supposed to frequently kick you off the internet and flash a blue screen that says "crash dump?" Don't think so. I've ask for online help too and they want me to pay at least $38.00 to ask a question. Gateway - you should be ashamed!!

My experience is asking 2 set up questions was this. Gateway told me I was out of warranty. The computer was just 6 months from purchase date. I had to fax all my receipts and info which wasn't good enough. I then had to send an actual image of my Serial number. Gateway said they were escalating this issue to someone higher and asked for my patience. Finally a week later I have my warranty. However, here is the killer. The warranty only covers Hardware technical questions. If I have a question on anything else, it must go to their other people and I must pay a fee for this service. WHAT? They won't help me set the blasted thing up? I am incensed!

Really disappointed w/Gateway support! Wish that I had researched via this site b/4 I entered into their $149.99/yr svc agreement!!!! I have a very old PC that I gave to my parents when I moved on to a newer computer. Last Sunday, the computer lost connection to our cable modem internet so I started the troubleshooting process with calling Windows IE phone support. They were not able to determine the problem and suggested that I call my ISP provider who in turn gave me the Gateway Answersby phone numbers to have them troubleshoot. Gateway support was able to get my computer connected again but b/c the PC was out of warranty, I had to sign up for $149.99/yr/5 sessions. Since they were able to get my computer up and running pretty easily, I went ahead and signed up for an offer to "upgrade" this service agreement to 10 more sessions at the rate of what I heard was "$14.99." I repeated this amount back to the tech and he confirmed that it was only $14.99. Thought that was a supper deal so I entered my cc number to upgrade it. That evening, in checking my bank accts online, I noticed that there was a $49.99 charge pending on my bank card and immediately called the support line at Gateway to cancel it. Was told that I had to call a Refund number on Monday b/w 9am-5pm ET in order to request a refund. Well,... That's when the ire began! When I called, I was connected right back to the Answersby support team and told that I was not able to cancel b/c I had agreed to it. By the way, this "office" is in India. Could be why I and the the tech misunderstood one another on the $14.99 price??? At any rate, I wasn't able to cancel (at least not yet) and not able to dispute via my bankcard company because there is no written proof, etc.

As others have stated on this site, you can't get anyone on the phone in the USA and there doesn't seem to be any info on the website to request a refund! I've even tried calling w/ my bankcard rep on the phone in conference and when we DID get an USA Gateway rep on the phone, HE TRANSFERRED US TO AN "INTERNAL" NUMBER FOR THE REFUND REQUEST THAT WAS FOR A ONLINE FLOWER BUSINESS!!! I went through Gateway's online chat and was promised that they had submitted a request in my behalf via the online service. Yeah,... I'll bet they have followed through on that promise!

Worst p.o.s company ever. I installed windows 7 on my gateway laptop that ran with windows vista and now my webcam won't work. (before my touch volume control didn't work but I figured it out with online help in a search engine.) I bought my laptop from Best Buy in August 2009 for use while in college, with a 3 year warranty. However, I no longer "qualify" for free phone support, according to the Gateway's website, so I chatted with an agent. I explained my problem in detail and then he asked me what I needed repeatedly, despite having already told him! Then he sent me a link for the driver and assured me it would work and said he was closing the chat. I clicked the link, unzipped the file, ran setup, and what do you know, "webcam not recognized." I called the number provided and it told me I wasn't eligible for free phone service. I couldn't get through to a real person. Fvck this company and their fvcking customer service, or lack thereof. I'm tired of Gateway and I'm tired of Microsoft too (which is surprising considering I love their Zune and only use Bing to search for information, but I've had it!) I guess I'll be switching to a Mac when my laptop gives out. And, no, I still haven't solved the issue with my webcam.

I got a computer at best buy Model gateway gx7022e ..my monitor lasted 2 years..I got.new monitor at best buy ..then my computer power pack broke down..so I do not remember what I paid ... But I always get a computer in the High price range. Hoping it work good..I have restore disk that I got from gateway that work good they gave it to me after I got this. Junk..mail it over night back in 2005..service people was very good then.. But now you do not have service.i cleaned dirt out ever 6 months I take care of my things..I do not have money to buy new things like a new computer ever 4 years.plus buying a new monitor and a new power pack for a disk top computer..junk that it. I hope you do not get rip-off ..like i did...it is hard to buy with a review that is 2 days old'. We all need to stop this .. I will never buy a gateway again.I mean never..you no what gateway does not care...there is always a fool ...but they will not get me again..

I bought a Gateway and spent a lot of money on the sound system, mixer, ect and not once would they cover anything within my warranty time when they stopped working a few months after purchase. I have had nothing but problems.

I currently own a Gateway computer, and I'm in need of another computer. I went to the Gateway website to view the available computers, and then spent over an hour trying to find some sort of prepurchase customer service to answer some questions prior to making the purchase. There is phone number listed on their website. When I finally Googled the Gateway Corp. office number and got an operator who connected me with a customer service person, he gave me a number that directed me back to the website. If they can't even provide someone to answer questions about the 9 different SX models listed on their website, you should think twice about buying one of their computers. I think I will go with an HP this time!

I will never purchase another Gateway product and will seriously stop shopping with Best Buy as well since they carry these lousy products.

NOTE TO WORLD: stop buying this product. The customer service is awful. You cannot talk to a live person and if you do finally get a live person on the phone, they will continue to push you off toward yet another phone number where no one can help you.
