I too received an email today to our main company's address saying "thanks for your order" for notebook computer totaling over $1300. I also emailed customer support but have not heard back from them. I know for sure this is a scam. If you scroll your mouse over the the link to the "buy.com" it says http:sonda.co.kr. Please be sure you check your credit card statement also to be sure your account numbers have not been stolen.

Received an e-mail today at my work e-mail address attaching a "Thanks for your order" message from Buy.com, order number invluded for $1,300 plus of computer and componets. A search of the Buy.com website listed no customer service phone number, or any number for that matter; everything is e-mail based. Did a google search for "Buy.com customer service phone number," and ended up at this site. Called the number: 800-800-0800. Predictably, my call was answered by an automated answering service. I listend to the options and selected the one for "questions about an existing order." After an approximately 15 minute wait, I finally got a live person, "Linda" who in answer to my question told me she was located in the Phillipines. Her English was pretty good and she was nive and helpful. Upon providing her with the order number provided in the e-mail she informed me that it was not a Buy.com order numbers, and that they had no order in my name, confirming my suspicion that the e-mail was some type of scamm.

I will NOT use buy.com again...placed an order on June 7th it is now June 18th..no package...what good is a confirmation number? All it said was "processing"..that's really not a lot of help...In addition the item I purchased said "Free Shipping"..I was charged $7 and some change for shipping..when I finally found their no. (not on the website) the customer rep told me that their system was down and she couldn't give me any information. I am extremely disappointed...this is just HORRIBLE!!

Be careful with this company. They would entice you with their instant rebate in their emails. Once you order, that rebate is no longer good since the item will be shipping from a 3rd party vendor. There was no mention that the seller should only be buy.com. Then to get customer service number, it's not listed in their website. You have to google it and it even looks like it's another website.

I used the number, it worked to get through but I will NOT use BUY.com again. It took a long time for a live person to understand me, and to actually fix my problem. Now I have been charged for overnight shipping even though my orer was on hold for a week. *sigh*

Do not order from Buy.com,They have NO Customer service.I sent them an Email last Saturday night. ( they say it takes 24 hours for a response ) It's been 6 days and NO response. On top of that, I tracked my order, it says it was delivered to my house 2 days ago. WE HAVE NO PACKAGE!. Since they have no Customer Service. I put in a Grievance with PayPal. Do not use Buy.come for anything!!!!!

Made an order to buy.com. This order keeps saying processing. I called Buy.com customer service. They told me it would take 2-3 days to verify an address. Called them back on Monday and they said they would prioritize the order. Called them later and ask them what is going on. They said they would request the address verification team to call me back. No one called. Called them again on Tuesday, the person I spoke to apologize for the inconvenience and proceed to tell me that it would not be processed until Wednesday. So, they have lied, lied and lied to me again and again.

JUST CALLED THE NUMBER :) WORKED LIKE CHARM PROBLEM SOLVED!!! THANKS FOR THE INFO AND GOD BLESS U. BTW Buy.com isn't that bad, bought 2 times from them and both times was pretty fast shipping. I guess it just depends on your luck :P

I ordered a bluetooth headset from Buy.com.
It arrived soon enough (but not too quickly) however the packaging appeared to have been previously torn open and was resealed with many round mylar stickers. Also, the box had a Verizon Wireless logo.
It was clearly NOT a factory sealed, normal retail package, yet the listing made no mention of the item being a return, open stock, or anything else out of the ordinary.
I e-mailed Buy.com, but have yet, after several days, to receive a reply, DESPITE THE WEBSITE'S ASSURANCES OF A 24 HOUR RESPONSE.

Deceptive sales practices, followed up by non-existent customer service. That is Buy.com in a nutshell.

This was my first experience with this e-tailer. I can see no reason why it should not also be my last.

Buy.com outsourced my order to another company. When the company didn't send the complete order, Buy.com wouldn't help. They just said we had to deal with the other company. We will never place another order with Buy.com. That is an irresponsible way to do business.

This is the 3rd or 4th time that I have had a problem with Buy.com and, once you know their phone number, the are amongst the best as far as the speed of getting to a representative is concerned and the way they handle an issue, even if the customer screwed up the order and wanted it cancelled. Reason for the "average" reachability: they don't publish their phone number on their web site

I did subsequently find Buy.com's corporate phone number on another web site:http://forum.dvdtalk.com/archive/t-61276.html

When I called I waited for the recording don't choose option 2! The customer service option. Wait for a person to answer.

I spoke to a very nice woman who totally solved my problem and happy to do so.
She said:I sincerely apologize for this whole experience, it is really embarrassing. I have a customer service meeting to attend on Friday and I am planning to use this case as an example of serious breakdown. Your suggestions to improve our escalation procedures will be included and I am really hoping that our upper management will take all of our ideas in to consideration.

The lesson here is don't give up. There are people who care at every company and can fix the problem....getting to them is the trick

These guys suck. The worst customer service I have ever expeienced. If you love anxiety frustration and being ignored after purchasing something on Amazon.com, purchase from Buy.com Their customer service lines are answered in the Phillpines. They apologize profusly and it is not really their fault. It is Buy.com in Ontario California. A very inept comany. They should take a lesson from Apple.

Horriable service. I am losing $140 on a $226 purchase due to shipping and repacking. I have spent so much time I feel like throwing the product away just to be done with it.

Thank you for posting the customer service number here! Their website doesn't provide it which is awful. They just randomly charged me for an item that was returnd a full year ago! What a terrible company please save yourself the trouble and order from somewhere else. its worth the extra cost whatever it happens to be.

Similar lousy experience to report. Placed an order w/ amazon.com, for a item that was provided by buy.com. I called within 14 hours of placing the order, befor receiving any shipping confirmation, to cancel. After searching for too long to find a phone number (thak you to contacthelp!!), I spoke with a gentleman named K***, who said that the order was 'processing' - with information en route to warehouse, and thuus could not be canceled. He said they would request a cancellation, and I would be notified within 2 days of whether the cancellation was 'approved' or 'denied'. What merchant can DENY a cancellation request for an order not yet shipped???

I would not deal with them again -- and am reconsidering use of amazon itself when third-party sellers are involved. Use of the amazon 'portal' means Amazon is of no help in addressing such issues.

Update 2-11-10, Thanks to being able to speak directly to a Human, regardless of how well their English speaking skills have developed, Buy.com showed actual concern for the way I was treated by abacus24/7,who is in my opinion is the third party merchant responsible for the whole mess. Buy.com took the high road by issing me their sincere apology plus a gift certificate for free ink or anything else I might need. I may have been transferred 3 times to people I couldnt understand all that well, but in the end Buy.com did the right thing and for that will get my return business. We all screw up from time to time, the main thing is trying to fix it and make it right again. gadhml7
