BUY.COM is the most difficult, the most inflexible company to deal with when it comes to obtaining a REBATE. Trust me, if they're asking you to send in the required documentation, you cannot stray from those one iota!

For a rebate of $20, the requirement was for:

(1) signed rebate form (easy enough, the link is provided).

(2) the original UPC label peeled from the product's side panel. There's only ONE, so when you attach it to your signed rebate form be sure to make at least one copy for your records.

(3) a copy of your receipt.
Ahh... here's the GOTCHA! You see, Buy.com does NOT provide you a receipt at any time. None is mailed to you, none is included in the shipping box. Are you starting to get the picture? Do NOT print out what appears to be a receipt from Buy.Com when all it really is is your order confirmation. That will NOT fly with the rebate department.
What is not known, and what is not told to you the customer, is that you must go online to BUY.COM, log into your account, go to your order history and then click on the link for a printable receipt.

THIS IS A MAJOR FAILING and is the main reason 99% of the rebates are declined. So, if you are a glutton for punishment, my friend, and you just haven't had enough aggravation in your life, then set your calendar to 3-4 weeks to go online to:

You'll need several bits of information in order to obtain the status of your rebate:

1- Your email address
2- Your tracking number
This was provided when you initially REGISTERED ONLINE to obtain your rebate. After registering they'll provide your tracking number. Immediately drop everything and WRITE THAT NUMBER DOWN! Without it, you might as well goodbye to obtaining your rebate. You can NOT check the status with just your email address alone. This is another GOTCHA! BUY.COM makes the process as complicated and convoluted and confusing as possible in order to eliminate the easily confused and/or poorly organized rebate filer.

So good luck and have fun following up with your customer service person from Manila, Phillipines. The satellite feed to their takes time and the call quality is horrible.
By the way, yell & scream your head off will not get you anywhere with these Stepford Wife clones hired to represent them. All they repeat over and over again like a broken record (you'll SEE) is "I'm sorry... blah blah blah" or "I understand.." and then dance around the question, failing to address the specific concern or question. In short, it's like talking to a parrot or mynah bird.
