My daughter and I travelled on the 1240 service from Glasgow to Euston. Staff were excellent, but usual luggage storage problems.
We had enjoyed a family wedding, and I thought I'd make the return journey more relaxing for us, and finish our lovely experience off by paying for an upgrade if it was a possibility.
I asked the male on board manager if it was possible. He 'barked' at me - 'Do you know how much people pay to sit in First Class?' And several other patronising comments ending in 'It isn't available on this service.' I said to him, that is all he had to say, without his aggressive manner. In fact - I was British Airways Cabin Crew for 30 years, and well used to upgrading people when it was necessary to make seats available for families who were split up,or for people celebrating. Never with a charge!
The return service left Euston on the 25th August at 1316. Regrettably bad initial Customer service.A
