I deal with insurance companies everyday and Allstate is the least scariest of the major companies for car insurance. Farmer is a nightmare in my opinion but the others have good and bad points to consider depending on where you live.

Insurance is one of the most important thing you can buy and you need to keep that in mind. Ask a hundred questions if you want on the phone until you're satisfied.

Now I got this one from here somewhere but ask for the best agent in your area. A good agent will be a pain in your butt with questions and concerns but that's what is being covered!

What a lame company these people are, i never in my life had so much junk mail in my p.o. box! i want a insurance company that only send me the bill for the insurance that i have with them! and not fill the box up with crap! sent in the allstate wraper. if i wanted these extras i would of got them when i got the policy. it,s so eazy to assume that the stuff is just junk and toss it in the trash! this is the worst mistake i ever made, was switching to these clowns, i might of paid more at geico, but at least my mailbox was not full of crap!

I am tired of cosmetically reinventng my home ad property to suit them...Why do they find it necessary to tell me what I can and cant have in MY yard .two older than dirt vehicles one that plows the snow one that brings out the wood for my heat...then ther is the issue of the visible rust on my shed tat is greater than 200 yards from my residence ...they had no comment that there are no doors on it no back wall but they want me to paint the roof...why is that necessary to recieve a homeowners policy??? It is not in their yard ..you cant't see it from the road...I live in a rural area ...what is the problem with you people anyway

Allstate is the worst insurance company that exists!!! They overcharge you for a policy, then when you have a claim, they don't want to pay on it...even when its a natural disaster. This insurance company is a total freak of nature!

Good Deal worked out pretty good rate... Got a hold of them quick and got the quote with pretty minimal questions.

Worst...WORST INSURANCE BULLY to ever be so CONGRESSIONALLY ORDAINED while yet being illegitimately "protected and padded" by the United States Government!!!! Charging policy holders for a "future" renewal w/a "Pro-rated" FEE due to ALLSTATE's BILLING ERROR!!! My Renewal Policy was almost "2" months away and yet they TOOK ERRONEOUS "RENEWAL" Policy Premiums from my account....overcharging me (their mistake). THEN, they have the freakin' GALL to assessed me a fee for it!!!??? 3/4 of their "overcharge error" is the FEE THEY CHARGED ME!!!!!! FOR THEIR OVERCHARGE ERROR! HOLY GOD, THIS IS CORPORATE AMERICA and WE, the people ARE SLAVES TO A CORRUPT GOVERNMENT more worse than the COMMUNISTS EVER WERE! DOWN WITH GOVERNMENT SLAVERY!!!!!!!

I have been a customer with Allstate sense I was 16 years old. I stayed with Allstate after I got married in 1990 and we got our home insurance and stayed with allstate for our automobiles. I am now 54 and my husband is 60 and Allstate has a policy of giving a discount to our policies for 55 and older. They just this year gave us a discount for 55 and older for my 60 year old husband. I believe that Allstate owes us for the back discount seeing as my husband was 55 5 years ago. I canceled our policies with Allstate and they do not want to re-emburse us for the past discount money they owe us. I want people to know about this discount so you don't get taken by Allstate like we did. I pray Allstate does the right thing in giving us the money they owe us like they should but I am sure Allstate will not. This is poor business practice. They should have the information generated regularly seeing as they always sent us birthday cards on our birthdays they should have implimented the 55 and older discount 5 years ago when my husband turned 55. BAD BUSINESS VERY BAD BUSINESS Barbara J markham and Roy L markham 16758 Roosevelt Hwy Kendall, NY 14476 Let's see if Allstate makes good on their policies if they do I will post here again on Allstate doing the RIGHT thing and giving us the back money for these discounts on Auto and Homeowners policies.

To whom it may concern,
I wanted to write about an employee named,
Stephanie Vargas. She works at the West New York, NJ office. She was freindly and courtious. Many people seem to know her. I could see why. I even commented that a commerical should be made with her in it. She made my husband's and I visit very pleasant.

Sincerly,

Mr.& Mrs. Elvin Zavala
Guttenberg, New Jersey

I too am fed up with trying to understand people in foreign countries who can't speak English and can only keep repeating the same script over and over. It is past time we consumers stood up and boycotted companies moving their call centers to India and other foreign locations. After being with Allstate 40 years, I am looking for another insusrance company as a result of Allstate's call center in India.

I hate talking to someone in India, for this, Allstate is the worst! I cannot understand what they are saying most of the time and there is a lot lost in translation. If I need to speak to a live person, it just took me 27 minutes of voice prompts and waiting for someone to finally answer. When an emergency comes up, who has 27 minutes to wait to speak to someone?

I was on the receiving end of a collision on Memorial Day 2010. I received reimbursement for damages to my car, but not for the car rental. When I emailed, dropped by the office and called regarding this I was told the payment ($250) has been directly deposited to my credit card account. I had the bank do a search and no funds for rental reimbursement had been entered. When I, once again, called the adjuster she told me that a processor was taking care of it. Does it really take this long to get rental money back? There was further damage to the passenger side rocker (?) panel that the adjusters never saw even though the collision included a traffic island. I thought...I can live with this rather than go through the poor communication process again. As soon as this car is paid I'll say good-by Allstate after 25 years.

We went into the 259 Barnett Rd. #2 office in Medford, Oregon to pay our auto bill as we have done many years and would also have paid the house insurance at the same time. There was a woman ahead of us that appeared to be a client of the woman running the office. There was only one agent there at the time around 1 p.m. on a Friday. The agent ( I assume) told us to sit down in a sharp voice and never asked our business. She proceeded with the client or friend and never returned to us. We got tired of waiting with no communication and left. The agent could have politely approached us and let us know that she was delayed instead of making us feel our presence was an irritation. From now on if we stay with Allstate we will avoid the office. We have to make a half hour trip to town to do our business. We like our agent Michael Nielitz. Thanks!

My BMW 740il was hit (while parked) by a driver insured by Allstate. At first I was happy to know they had Allsatate insurance. That did not last long. We got some estimates and went to see the claims adjuster (John Smith, that's his real name) at David Martin Agency in Central Point, Or. From the start he was clearly trying to low ball us. I let him know that I have an ASE Certified Tech, have a A/S in automotive technology and over 25 years exp. Then he changed the way he was talking to my daughter and myself. He agreed that it did need a new hood. I had upgraded to Xenon Headlamps about 2 years ago. I had noticed the estimate showed non xenon headlamp. When I mentioned that to him he tells me my car does not have them. I assured him it did. He gets an attitude with me. So, I take outside, open the hood and show him the sticker on the assemble that says xenon assembly. Now he wants to see if the marks (on the headlamp) are just paint from the car the hit us and if they will buff off. They also wanted proof that the car pulling to the right was from being hit. It just spent $1600.00 dollars on tires and alinment. So, I have the lens buffed. It is scratched all the way across the lens and the toe was off on the right front (the side it was hit on). I had to pay for a full alinment. Allsatate wants to pay for just the one wheel, not for the headlamp and they want me to pay for half the paint on the hood. The estimate was $4,300.00. I was willing to go with a used lamp assembly. I wasn't going to ask for a rental car. I guess I will see them in court

My 2007 Toyota Camry was stolen on May 28, 2010 as of Aug. 1 2010 my claim has not been resolved.Allstate has treated me like the criminal .They have literally accused me of being involved in the theft . Had my car towed to a body shop its been there for 2 months wtihout repair. Allstates customer service is so terrible i think its illegal im checking on that now. They dont call you, write you or update you,not to mention they dont return your calls. They are the worse company and we all can be sure "no one is in good hands with Allstate "

I was in an accident that was caused by some one else. It was raining and some woman swerved into my lane through a solid line and I slammed the brakes on causing me to hydroplane ,she swerved back and i hit athird driver from the rear.Lindenwold NJ police dropped the ball like keystone cops and I was left totally at fault.Allstate drops me after one accident.Allstate sucks and micheal mcdyer agency in Cherry Hill,NJ sucks. The lazy lethargic insurance adjuster whom I forget her name, although she is very irrelavent sucks. So I was the one who took the hit even though there was a grey area, and the buffoon who encroached my lane through a solid line got away scott free with no violations.Oh and to the Lindenwold NJ police dept.,you suck also you snotnose punk!

Have paid premiums to Allstate for 10 years for auto, boat and homeowner's insurance with NO claims, tickets, etc. Just got a renewal bill for the homeowner's with a $300 increase and no explanation for it. Called Amica and got quotes for the EXACT SAME coverages and will be saving around $1100.00 per year total!!! Adios Allstate.
