The worst internet company ever!!!!!! They charge too much for internet that doesn't work! So I cancelled and several months later they charge my debit card $216.00 for some box that is connected to the dish, but they never sent me any email or letter telling me I had to return it!! And now I'm stuck trying to figure out what exactly they want back because their customer service suck!!!! They don't help at all and tell me something different every time!!! I hate you hughesnet! ! I tell everyone not to get hughesnet. Stupid company is a sham!!

Are you kidding me, customer support, you can't speak to anyone from the US after they sell you their product! They outsource!!!! It's so difficult to understand anything they have to say. I called just for any Inquiry, next thing I know is that they charged me for something I told them I would let them know!!!! They actually STOLE my money off my debit card without any authorization! It's been nothing but a nightmare. Still don't have money back. They took and now I have to wait over a week until it's back in my account. Beware of this company

I have made multiple phone calls to customer service, billing and service, trouble shooting. Each time that I have called to discuss that I am moving and my new landlord will not allow satellite dishes in the yard or attached to the building. I am put on hold and after waiting for more than 15 minutes becoming frustrate and hang up. This is the worst customer service for any company to have and I am considering legal action since it appears that Hughes Net is not willing to speak with me.

HughesNet is the most pathetic internet service out there! This company should not be in business! Dial up is faster than HughesNet! ##WARNING## DO NOT SIGNUP WITH HUGHESNET## Customer service is terrible and the service is complete crap! We just used a "token" this morning to make it faster, and it is slower! Whomever owns this company should be used for every penny they have taken from their customers! Pathetic! Terrible! Useless!

Hughes net is a scam, the worst service of any internet in the USA. there's a cap on how much internet you get, and is slower than slimy snails. In one day of use the internet wouldn't boot up. so I called Hughes net to find out why my internet wasn't working, they said I used up my megabyte's and needed to upgrade to more megabyte's from $29.00 to $79.00 for 1 more byte and a little faster. This was great, I got one extra day of use and would boot up but no internet. I had just up graded and a week later I was billed for $79.00 for 3 days of serviceable internet. I called Hughes net and they offered to up grade for $120.00 for a couple more bytes. I said I need to cancel the service because I use the internet for everything, and can't afford to have it not work. I was billed $385.00 for early cancellation with no authoration. Everything that was explained was a scam plus I was to get free installation, that cost me $70.00 cash because I wouldn't let them put it on the house. Now I have cable internet with Hi speed internet unlimited use for $49.00 and great service.
I WARN ANY ONE USING HUGHES NET OR THINKING OF USEING IT, THINK TWICE Y0UV'E BEEN WARNED. THERE ARE OTHER SOURCES AND ANY OF THEM ARE 10 TIMES BETTER, GOOD LUCK.

We were duped from the very beginning, a Hughes Net Rep, Jeff Corbit in the US asked for a $40- deposit and that we would be refunded back the deposit within 3-7 business days, that never happened, they withdrew more than that $40- plus we have not received that deposit to present date. The service was cancelled with Charles Drake within the 30 days of service, again we discussed terms and agreement, we were asked to go up on the roof to remove the equipment to return it or pay $300-, we found that to be a bit odd, he set up a date and a tech came out and removed the equipment in mid Nov and it was returned. On 12/17/13 Hughes Net made an unauthorized withdrawal of $100- from the credit card that was given to pay the $40- deposit, plus their automated system stated that I was on a automatic monthly payment for which I was not. I Called customer service spoke to Blair Beth in the Philippines, I asked Blair to speak with a supervisor 5-6 times,I was put on hold several times. Finally, a rep by the name of Megan Davidson stated that they could not refund me because it was a legal charge. After telling them that it was an unauthorized charge, I asked for their corporate office information and Blair Beth said they don't have a Corporate address and that they only have a legal web site. I was also told by Blair Beth to call my bank and have them reverse the charges before she transferred the call to Ms. Davidson. I am not happy with Hughes Net business practices, Beware!!!

When I started using hughes net my payment each month, as I was informed by the installer was $49.99 each month and If I went over the 5GB at the end of the month my computer would go slower. Now my payment is almost $80 a month in their great deals they fail to mention equipment rental and that your antivirus was just for awhile then you have to purchase. Trust me it's like a prison you are in a jail and just waiting for your and waiting for them to open the cell. Did I mention I've only had them a month. They are a great company anything you need or want to hear until you get your BILL!!!!

Hughesnet's customer service is a sham ! I have waited for 47 minuets and then a person told ne they were doing some service on their systems. But someone would call back the next day by 10 am cst. That call never came, as usual there is no consistant honesty, just I am so sorry.

I would not consider Hughesnet if you have other services available to your area.

I'm luckier than most - I started Gen4 Internet service in Dec 2012. The dish was installed properly - speeds tend to be 7672kbps download and 1063kbps upload. Through winter and spring storms there was only one day I had dropped service. Getting someone at C/S with the knowledge to tell me what to do was problematic! Since I've ordered Hughes new Voice telephone service - install and activation was simple, the quality of sound is excellent and there is no delays! I ordered the service with International calling but after 6 days of domestic service and 9 C/S case numbers the International call blocking is still an issue between Hughes Net and Big River Telephone - the sub-carrier to this service.

This is the mail I sent to HughesNet and was called back by an individual who did not know anything and continually informed me they could not return my account back to its original status. I started sending them an Invoice once a month for 3 months. Current to date there has been no response from them which tells me I can now file the lien against them and take HughesNet property enforced by the local Sheriff. This ANYBODY can do to any major company or corporation for proof of violation which I have. Like most who have posted here I was sold one type of account and 2.5 months later it was changed without my knowledge, hence Cyber Crime, hence FBI investigation because of what they do with customers accounts without permission. I will be filing on them the end of this month.
NOTE what I am doing is PERFECTLY legal, hence your warning of what I am about to do if you do not settle with me. I would appreciate it if un-knowledged people would STOP calling me. You cannot offer me a Popsicle and then try to convince me it is a steak dinner. Hughs was suppose to come mondat to instal internet. They called to reschedule me wednesday morning, first on list.... I called at 10am they told me he'd be here by 1200. Threeoclock no call no person. Three thirty came and she told me he called and left a message. I told her my phone says he didnt. She got angry and also hung up on me. Whats these peoples problem? Incompeten? I was afraid to order after that....what if I needed real help...

Thank you for your patience... Mine ran out the first time they hung up on me. Trying to quit. 4 year subscriber. On hold with them now, third time over 30 minutes. Never had a problem with them until now. Got DSL unlimited with double the speed at less than half the price.

Try cancelling your service/subscription! That is a nightmare experience! It took me hours to do so after being disconnected from so-called "transfers" to another department numerous times. We have been loyal customers for years, and this has been our experience. Imagine if you were not? Never again! What a scam on HughesNet's policy and methods on avoiding a customer's attempt to discontinue service (after completing its service agreement, no less). There should be a class-action against HughesNet. I wonder how many accounts remain open and are paying because of the almost impossible way to cancel service. SCAM, I say!

ExaMy name is Ssgt Johnson, a combat wounded veteran. Recently moved to NY we are located a few miles outside the nearest city so we tried Hugh's net because of our location. The first month the Internet worked but absolutely no downloading or streaming. We used up our allotment of coins just trying to stream but never successful. I called there customer service and they said I would have to pay for a tech to come out but to first try buying a new router and moving it to a different location in the house. I went and bought 50 ft of Ethernet cable to move the new router. We were still unable to download or stream and the Internet was too slow to use. I called again and they said they would not send a tech out unless I paid for it. We decided to try a different service provider and cancel hughsnet. They said we were contracted in and it didn't matter that the service never worked. We have to pay a 500 dollar cancellation fee and remove satellite from the roof ourselves to send it back to them. I fell while trying to take down the satellite and landed on my prosthetic that covers the amputated part of my arm. AVOID HUGHsNET at all cost. Even if you get service from them they have a very low cap to how much Internet you can use. There customer service is atrosish and they will screw you every chance they get!!

Have been receiving phone calls about past due invoice from August 2012 and can't seem to locate how to pay it. None of the "customer service" agents are able to take credit or debit card information. My online account has been closed, so am unable to pay through that. Spent 77 minutes on the phone, speaking with 5 different agents. Thought I had finally convinced the final one to send my a paper bill. I have not received it, so am assuming that it was sent to my (no longer forwarded) previous address, despite my request that it be sent to my current address. Any ideas on how I can get in touch with someone at HughesNet who will take the money that they claim they want?

I had been a loyal customer since 2005 until may 27 2013. What they do is start using your download to get you to make a service call and automatically an agent picks up and tells you will get a better deal with gen4. The thuggy installer came out the next day and I found out I lost
100 mb a day and lost my unlimited at night. I called to express my disappointment and they basically said tough poop your stuck with it. I immediately cancelled service and threatened to raid my bank accounts if I didn't pay them $400. I am very satisfied with wild blue I'm getting 1000mb a day compared to 300mb a day with hughs and wild blue is $10 a month cheaper.

I am through with trying to have my Hughesnet reconnected after being suspended for the winter months. The number I was given last year is no longer connected to Hughesnet.
When I call the number for technical support my only option has been to "speak" with a poorly programmed computer.
I need nothing more than to be reconnected for the summer months. Why should this be so impossible to do?
How does one "rate" a poorly programmed computer? This system needs a major overhaul.

How do you contact customer support? I call the number provided and get transfered to installation?????????? This is maddening. I lost my debit card and had to get a replacement. Of course the old card will not work. How do you get in touch with customer service to give them the new card information???

Terrible company. They brag about their service capability for rural customers and it is such crap. Check out their 'fair use' policy before signing up, there is nothing fair about it. a financial raping if you ask me. we got stuck with them for a 2 yr contract and even though they failed to provide reliable consistent service to our family they sure expect us to fulfill our contract or theyw ill ding us for an early cancellation fee. Do yourself a favor, if you are in a rural area, stay with dial up and start calling your local dsl carrier about getting service to where you are at. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

We had a problem with reception, and called for help. Response was efficient, friendly, and reasonably rapid. We live far out in the country, and nevertheless the service person arrived within three days and adjusted our dish, gave us other advise and help, and was pleasant and polite.
We are pleased by our service, which is a major improvement over 3G. I wish we'd signed up long before we did.

If it was just no customer service that would be one thing but the simple fact is you dont really get any service at all net included. They tell you that you have 20gb of data usage for the month then when you go over and have to call about it they tell you that is is 10gb for midnight to five in the morning, and 10gb for the other 19hrs in the day. The data split is 50% so why is the time window not also 50% you know 10gb for 12hrs and 10gb for the other 12hrs. This company needs to be closed down for false advertisment in contracted conditions. If the all mighty and powerful government cant see it than we are led by the blind, that we all know to be a very bad idea.

This is the worst company I've ever done business with. There is no customer service what so ever. They have people in India, Philippines and all over the U.S. and no one knows what they are doing. They just read off a sheet of paper asking the same questions. They don't listen AT all to the customer, they just pass the buck to someone else who doesn't know what they are doing either. That goes up the ladder to some of the supervisors also. So it takes forever to get anything done if it ever gets done. They also disrespect the customer who is trying to get the problem solved. They aggravate you so much that you finally tell them to disconnect your service so they end up loosing customers instead of trying to help them, when they are the ones who pay these people's salaries.

Hughesnet has the absolute WORST custome service ever! Any time you have a problem be prepared to be on the phone initially 45 mintues to an hour before you even get a service rep. God forbid they put you on hold because you will be on hold for another hour! They SUCK!

should be able to provide case # to access advanced technical support via the above phone number! not have to go through the whole system of questions when it is an advanced issue. please consider providing access to advanced technical support with case # to access advanced technical support. this option would provide more customer satisfaction.
