After reading the pages of comments, I too am sad and worried. Our country is in big trouble. I have tried for over 6 months to modify my home loan. Last year my credit was 720+ this year 560. Loss of work, heart surgery. After months of sending and re sending all of their requirements for my financial status they said, "due to your credit score" we can not modify! Really....then I asked for my payment to just be in two payments; one at beginning of month and then later in the month. Something that would work for me. Again denied. These people do not want to help, I also feel because I do have equity in my home they want it. America your really slipping.........oh, then they want to
MODIFY my comments!!!

It May, I too was offered a Home Affordable Refinace Progam at NO COST, due to my excellent payment history. Since that time I have been refused for several reasons, none of which is valid. They have proceeded to input incorrect information regarding my Deed, Names on the Title, deceased people on the deed, my name now different then on current mortgage!!! etc. etc. OH MY. My attempts to discuss this with anyone has fallen on deaf ears. NO ONE returns calls or responds to emails. I have submitted all necessary information, including a copy of the sealed deed from our county Register of Deeds. NOW, why don't I qualify??? The sad part is being treated like this and I am a "valued" client. . How do you trea others who are not, and having a hard time! The stress they have put me through is very disheartening. It's a shame to think I talked to numerous people before I applied for this refinance and was ASSURED this was all legitimate. Apparently you are not the reputable company you claim to be. I will surely being looking into alternate companies to give my mortgage business to. Maybe they will appreciate a customer who pays their bills faithfully and on time. [email protected]

To whom it may concern:

I am a single mother of 2, I have been a homeowner for the past 8 years (2 with Chase and then Citimortgage for the past 6 years with an adjustable rate). About 4 years ago I received a letter from Citimortgage stating that they are opening an escrow account on my behalf and my mortgage would increase by $600.00 per month. I spoke to an agent and they advised me that they paid my taxes for me, I have never had an escrow and I pay my taxes with my bonus check every year with no issues. The rep told me that I needed to apply for a mortgage modification, well I did, I was approved and the offer was to raise my mortgage by adding a $4500 shortage and a escrow account on to my loan. Needless to say, I did not accept these terms and worked to get the escrow account closed. Every time after I called in I was told that the escrow was opened because I applied for a modification and I had to explain numerous times the escrow that the only reason I applied to get the loan modified. After about 6 months of fighting to get the escrow account closed I continued to pay my mortgage because I wanted to keep my account in good standing (I had late payments about 5 years ago but got current and still remain that way). Now this year my mortgage is steadily increasing because of the adjustable rate I decide to apply for a modification under the National Debt Settlement, I was told by I qualified for this option because my account was current. I was then told to fill out the expense report and assigned to Homeowner Support Specialist: PATRICIA SOTO 8558432549 ext:0366405 [email protected] This person contacted me on June 6, 2012 and stated that she would call once per week to let me know whether or not there was an update to my file and that I do qualify for the settlement. I have not heard from this person since, I have emailed her which she has read everyone and called and her extension is not valid even the reps I spoke to tried and they told me to keep emailing her. However, I received a letter stating that my income is too high to have my mortgage balance settled, which the use gross income and that was even overstated. I did get an approval where they would modify my mortgage from 1211.24 to 1651.45 they are doing me a favor by adding a $600.00 escrow again. Yet if I do not accept this modified payment as of Sept. 2012 my mortgage which is not $1211.24 will be increased to 2,125.79 because they will still do me the favor of adding an escrow to my account in the amount of 914.55 per month. I believe that I am being forced into a loan modification or foreclosure. I can't refinance because the loan is upside down that was the reason I contacted them for help in the first place. Not sure what to do but I am hoping that you can provide some direction.

I've been trying to get a payoff on my loan for a month. I've been told theres been a rush put on it. I've been told I'll have it in 72 hours. I've been told theres no ETA. I've been told it was sent to this manager and that manager. Its under review. Long story short, I still dont have it and I'm almost a week over due on closing on selling my house.
These people need to be stopped.

There is a little incentive for debt collectors to follow the rules they have to follow. They cannot give false information about you to anyone. They cannot threaten you or say you will be arrested, your wages or property will be attacked or you will suffer a lawsuit. They cannot call you before 8 am or after 9 pm. There are ways to stop them from calling.

I'm not facing a sale date on my home I have tried three times for a moditfacation and was denied each time. I will never use citi in future for a mortgage I also filled out a form for an independent review and that did not help. I can't believe that I was denied for every program three times!

Citi Mortage is the worst company to deal with they mislead you and are not upholding the mandate by President Obama to help home owners stay in their home. They claim to have sold my mortage to a financer that does not participate in the program.

After applying for a mod. loan. I have been told over and over that the paperwork they requested I.E. Check stubs, bills and such. They say I never sent them over and over. They ask you send your information to a fax number that just vanishes. And if you use the Citilinks attachment for e-mail, same thing. It's a joke don't even bother...All there trying to do is make some politician think there doing something about all these bad loans, and the the federal judge that over saw the recent lawsuit. Mr. Judge if you read this, there laughing in your face!

Horrible mortgage company to have to deal with. We submitted our loan modification in March and still getting run around. We are paying 12 % interest and they say "oh yes we can lower that" and still do nothing! They say they didn't receive docs, etc. adding interest penalties - AND WE ARE CURRENT ON OUR MORTGAGE PAYMENTS! I feel for all of you! I agree. The government should step in and do something.

My son and I have been trying to save his home for 2 and 1/2 years with CitiMortgage. And we have accomplished absolutely nothing. They ask for the same stuff over and over then they say they never got it. He has been turned down twice for the HAMP program and they constantly still call him to do the same program. This company should definitely be investigated and closed down, permanently. Any good attorneys out there want to take this case for all of us----immediately. My son has been served papers from our local courts to explain this foreclosure, this is ridiculous that CitiMortgage should even be able to use our legal system. WE ARE ALL BEING CHEATED AND THEY ARE GETTING AWAY WITH THESE ILLEGAL ACTS OF FORECLOSURE ON HARD WORKING PEOPLE.

I called Citi and was unable to talk to a live person. After I stated that I was calling about a loan, but could not state that I was calling about a sell of a loan to another mortgage company. I am searching for information about a loan to another loan company in 2008, and not getting any help through your customer service. ciimortgage dont work with u evey time is different people u talk to they were helping me with loan modidfication or harp program i was waiting on paper work when i called back i was notified thy forclosed on my home now they are giving me the run around . please be aware of them!!!!!! they say texas is not a redemption state but if they now they misled you that they can reverse the forclosure. need help but citimortgae workers r not listening!!!!!!

Have had Citi for quite a few yrs after they bought our mtg. Never a problem. 2 months ago they sent a guy to take pics of our house and another one to talk to our neighbors. I called them to ask why and they told me that we were in foreclosure. I stated that this was news to me. VERY long story short, we were behind 2 payments. Have since caught them up. However, Citi said (and STILL) says that we are 5 months behind on pmts. They have been applying every cent of our mtg. pmts. to INTEREST ONLY for over a year now. They said it was because of the type loan we have. When we are late our mtg. accumulates interest daily and that has to be paid. So, for over a YEAR NOTHING has been applied to the principal. The problem was referred to the "Research Dept". I was told to fax them proof of two payments, 1 which was credited to our account over a year ago, and 1 this past month which we had also been credited for. So, I sent the proof. They took the foreclosure tag off of our account and said it would be fixed. I actually have paid them 6 payments in the last 8 weeks. As far as my calculations go, we don't owe another payment until August. I received the new statement in the mail last week stating FINALLY that our next payment is due May 13, which "appears" that they must have fixed the problem. However, I got online today to make the payment and they have me locked out of the account AGAIN because they are saying now that I owe them back payments since JANUARY! OMG! I called YET AGAIN and spoke to a b**** manager that referred me back to "customer service". I then was transferred to another INDIA idiot who can't even speak English. Very sarcastic. Told me I am paying only interest because I am late. HE said I owe back payments since OCTOBER! I told him I wanted to speak to this "Research" dept. He said, "There is nothing to research. Pay your bill". I called him a few choice names and hung up on him. I then called back and made yet ANOTHER payment. Stating to the person on the phone to make yet ANOTHER notation that they have STILL not credited me for all the payments I have made since FEBRUARY. This has made me NUTS! It never ends with these idiots. There is no one else I can talk to that will FIX this problem. I am out of resources and patience. I just keep making payments and NOT getting credited for them. If anyone knows of a class action suit or wants to talk about starting one, you can contact me at [email protected]. I have had enough. They threaten foreclosure EVERY MONTH! I have owned this house for 15 years and have NEVER had a problem until now. Seems that they are up to something, due to the fact that so many of us are having problems.

I had a job relocation, and could no longer pay the mortgage on the property I once lived in. I decided to short sale it, because renting it out was an additional big expense, I could not afford. Citi Mortgage holds a second on my house. I have been trying to close a short sale on my house for the last three weeks, after the primary lender has approved the original mortgage short sale. I have found them to be extremely incompetent and careless in the servicing of short sales. The Citi Mortage short sale rep kept asking for the same documents after we sent and resent them. Then they ordered an appraisal on the wrong property. Then my wife was advised that our loan modification was denied because we had continued to make our loan payments. We had not applied for a loan modification. Next they supposedly approved the short sale but have held it up now, because the property is sold to a relocation company. We have had a buyer under contract for 6 months now, who has become very impatient because the short sale process with the original lender, and now Citi Mortgage, has taken so long. Citi Mortgage is now saying that my relocation company cant sell the home to a buyer for another 30 days after the short sale approval, and have not responded to emails or phone calls in over aweek. They are wrong about relocation sales. My home buyer is threatening to walk away because it is taking so long. Now my relocation company is advising that if the short sale is not completed this week, I will have to start the process over, without any of my benefits. Citibank is the worst company I have ever done business for customer assistance. My home is in foreclosure status and will be sold at auction soon, if this short sale does not work out. All because Citi Mortgage refused to respond to urgency of this situation.

I have had nothing but problems with this company sinse they bought my loan in 2007. I filed bankruptcy in 2005 that I didnt include my house or my car. My mortgage company was Trustcorp back then and not once did they ever complain. I signed all the paperwork and never heard anything else after my bankruptcy was final. Now CitiMortgage turn into the credit union that I included my home and when I contest it the credit union said that they proved it so it stays on my report. Now they want me to in 2012 to sign more papers to reinstate my loan. Its not my problem the mortgage company they bought it from lost the papers not to mention I dont believe for a minute they would of bought the loan if it was written off.I only owe less then 39,000.00 and have always made my mortgage payments even during the bankruptcy and this is how they treat there customers.Im looking into hiring a lawyer and taking them to court for damages. The times we live in are stressful enough without them playing with my credit and my life.

We have been trying to get a copy of our original to complete a refinance with another company but unfortunately it does not pay the Citimortgage portion. We have made 5 separate requests, received 1 email of a pdf doc that would not open with password they gave us, have 3 investigations open about why we seem to not be able to get anything, have 4 conf./investigation #s, 2 direct lines to people who never answer and one whos mailbox is full. We have spoken with 9 different people in 3 different countries. All we want is a COPY OF OUR LOAN for the underwriters. I HATE this company HATE HATE HATE! I think everyone on this site needs to contact their Attorney General and complain. Citibank are robbing us left right and center and their name is not in the news.

Trying to Refi my house and at first all was smooth i got them all the documents they needed quickly and they would call and make sure everying was going smoothly. Now however it seems like they need more and more nonsense. First they wanted to make sure i had $7800 in a checking or savings account, i can't get my loan processor to answer her phone or return my messages and when i call to complain to her customer service manger who doesn't answer her phone either, i can't even leave a message because her voicemail box has been full for the last week!!!! Give me a break!!!!

When you call the customer service number make sure you are talking to someone in the United States. As soon as a person answers, ask to be transfered to someone in the United States. This I found to speed things up. Hopefully this helps.

Citi sent me a flyer to refi my loan. I started the process in December and now that it is April we are still trying. The discount will only be $100 less a month than I pay now. I already pair $685 for the appraisal. Today I learn that I have 48 hours to send in a bunch more documents. I already have my loan with them and they are treating me like someone new. I am able to pay my mortgage now but since they invited us to refi we thought what the heck. They call and leave a long list of things I have already sent twice. They do not have a live person to talk to when you call back, We have decided not to proceed with the refi. They have not met OUR expectations!

I was in the hospital with a sudden sickness for months. I fell behind in my payments by two months. I called CM to be put on a repayment plan. This start in October of 2011. CM stop accepting my payments and nowhere it is April of 2012 and my mortgage is behind $10,000. I have the money, but they keep saying that i have to continue to wait for the underwriter to allow me to repay my mortgage payments. Recently, I was serviced lawyer papers stating that my home is in foreclosure status and that the lawyers are handling it. When I called the lawyers to repay they said they do not have the claim, CM does and I have to wait for them. Every night I pray and pray and cry and pray that some good news will come out of this soon. I too send in my pay stubs bi weekly just incase they try to say they do not have this or that. I agree, the rep they gave me is no help. If i wouldn't of call them 3 times a week i wouldhave never known that they actually closed my case becase they had asked for more paystubs and he (my rep) never called me. Nor did i receive a letter.

After getting a mail inviting us to re-finance at a much lower interest rate and after calling & submitting all of our information, we have been TRYING FOR OVER A WEEK JUST TO GET A CALL-BACK!! We have sat on hold twice just trying to get through to ask, "Did we qualify?!" This is a big red flag. Yes, we are going to refinance. No, it WILL NOT be through Citi Mortgage! Wow. Worst customer service possible.

Let me tell you how much I hate this company. I was in a car accident and couldn't work for a year so I called them to see what could be done with my mortgage so I didn't lose my house. They set me up with a payment plan where I was only paying half of my monthly mortgage for six months, then after six months I had to come up with a big payment which made up for the other half of the monthly payment. At the time I thought it was great they helped me out and I still have my home. Several years after my accident I am trying to purchase a new home. Because my escrow increased during the six months I was only paying half of the payment my big payment was miscalculated, so when I made my big payment it did not bring my mortgage current. I called to make this big payment over the phone so that I knew I had the correct amount. The next month when I got my bill it was really high. I called and asked why and they told me the escrow went up. Ok fine no big deal paid it and was up to date. Since they failed to tell me my escrow went up and the payment wasnt current they put on my credit report that I defaulted for three months!!! I am now just learning all of this because Im trying to buy a new house and its showing up. In order for me to be able to buy a bigger house for my family I need the agreement letter for the half payment. Do you think these people can send one stupid piece of paper. Oh hell no. I have been on the phone with them for over a month at least 3 to 4 times a week trying to get this. I hate this company and I hope they fail. The customer service sucks.

i have been try to get my reinstatment on my loan for over 10 days. what is up with this company. nobody can not get nothing done. i call the foreclosure attorney and they say they can't get the information that they need from you to get this done. what a lot of wasted money and time. i call you and you can't tell me what i need to get this done. you can sure sell my house really fast, you can give me late notice fast, you can charge me late fee really fast. but to get things right you can't even tell me what i need to pay you to not sell my house.

I have been on hold for over an hour just to talk to someone about a refinance or 2nd mortage. There should be a way that citimortage can "call me" when someone is available to talk to. After reading the comments concerning citimortage I'm wondering if anyone is going to answer at all. I'm afraid to try and call any other number because then I'll be disconnected and have to wait at the end of the line -- again. I've already talk to two people and both said they are tranferring me to a mortgage consultant. I reach the next number and the person says they will transfer me to a mortgage consultant...???

I called CM in October 2010 to ask them to modify my interest rate only. CM reps told me that they will not help me because i was not late on my payments....so i withheld one payment. They started calling...and telling me to do my re modification application.

I did this and have submitted all of the paper work for over a year. As I was making payments as usual, CM decided to start applying my payments to a "non-applied account"! What does that even mean?

Well it means that you are giving them money and they are not applying it to your mortgage so you become VERY LATE! After 4 months of unapplied funds, they began they told me I was 5 months late and starting the forclosure process.

This is when I blew a gasket! Here I was, doing the weekly faxing of information to them, filling out forms, calling, emailing, etc. and they were going to begin foreclosure.

Now, over 15 months later I have been served forclosure papers. I stopped paying them all together because they would not accept anything other than the entire $106K of the loan.

Where is the CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against these crooks? I had the ONE month payment ready at anytime to pay, all I wanted was my 6.75% interest reduced to a reasonable. amount. Now I will be losing my home?
