Dear Vonage Company, Today I contacted vonage to get my telephone change. However, while I place a order I was talking wih the technician. She went on an on regarding the company. In the mean while I was reading some complaints of about your company. So, I immediately, ask her to disregard my order and she got to push regarding the cocellation. Then she state let me get my supervisor and her name was Robert she was even worst then the technician. As a custormer I have the right to disolved a coantract immediatetely. I do not know how many time I told Robert to disregard the service with Vonage and she went on and on. I am very upset with your service and your customer service as well. After talking for more then 25 minutes despairing the service make me very upset that she did not understand the word "please cancel my request"

Vonage is a horrible company to deal with. The customer service officers are rude and unethical.

The background: My wife and I decided to go with Vonage about five months ago. The service steadily deteriorated.

It has gotten so bad over the past month that we can no longer take incoming calls and no one can hear us on outgoing calls.

My wife and I tried to fix the problem through the online troubleshooting tips. My wife called 10 days ago and worked through all the technical support suggestions.

Instead, the service has gotten even worse. We now can't even hear the messages.

I called Vonage today and spoke to Marvic (employee ID 24647).

Marvic (and a manager) argued that:

1. We had a one-year contract.

2. That contract entitled Vonage to bill us even if the phone service was not working.

3. Vonage would demand an early contract termination fee of approximately $125.

4. Otherwise, I had to continue paying every month for a year even though the service was not working and Vonage could not identify the problem.

5. Vonage did not accept my argument that the contract had two parts: 1. Vonage provide quality phone service; I pay them.

Also, when I asked for a rationale on how the company could bill for a service it wasn't provide, Marvic hung up.

I would tell everyone to run from Vonage. Terrible product. Terrible customer service.

I cancelled service after 2 months because my credit card terminal would not work over a VOIP line. Vonage charged me meand was charged me the following:

Rebate recovery for Vonage V-Portal
Digital Phone Adapter $79.99
Disconnect Charge $39.99
Sales Tax $11.64
Local Utility Users Tax $2.54

Sum Total balance: $134.16
I had no idea that I had "bought" the Vonage modem. This was not disclosed when I signed up for the service. Think twice before using this company - Mike

I have paid on time for 6 years and when I had a problem with the router after many hrs on the phone trying to diagnos they said they would send me a new one. One day later they said they could only offer a partial towards a new one. Losing a great customer over one months payment. I spent hours for them to fix problem. My friend has cable phone thru his suppiler with great service. Now I sit trying to cancel with the longest wait durring this whole process. Must wait longer to get rid of them than tech support?

I have had vonage service now for 4 years. I have never had a problem with them and the price cannot be beat. I signed on 4 years ago for 34.00 a month and that is what I am still paying. In this day and age I find that their honest way of doing business almost unheard of. I have been ripped off but AT&T and Verizon with outragous bills with absoulutely no reasonable explanations and that to me is nothing but theft and they do it because they can. Everyday most big businesses make it their priorty of the day how much money they can get and charge for nothing. How sad that we are so corrupt.

The worst ever. One of the worst ever customer service in the history of customer service. Just plain beyond friggin pathetic.

I signed up for a one year contract on October 14, 2009. I want to cancel on September 27, 2010. If I do this I will be charged a cancellation fee. The service is prepaid so I have paid for the entire contract. No prorated billing or refunds can be done because "the system" won't allow it. The cancellation fee cannot be waived because "the system" won't allow it. I was told, "Most of the customers I speak with can understand that the cancellation fee will be charged if you terminate your service before the end of your contract." BMBFD!

The posting is slightly incorrect when it says that you have to call between Mon-Fri to cancel the account. I called at 1pm (CST) on Sunday and was able to speak to a rep and cancel my account.

I would not recommend that anyone sign up for Vonage. They signed me up and it would not work with my internet service. I called the day I received my equipment and realized it would not work. They told me to send equipment back and they would send me a label for free shipping. Never received label, but did receive a charge of $88.00 to my bank account. Called customer service, all were very rude and offered no help. Went to UPS paid to return equipment myself. Now I am trying to get charge off of my bank account. STAY AWAY FROM VONAGE. BIG RIPOFF.

Was told it would most likely work with my hughes net, got it and it did not person I talk to said it never works with satilite and to send the box back.
I sent the box back and they charged me $85 to my bank acount told me that after the box was tested to ensure I didn't tamper with it I would be reinbuses, well I had $80 in the account no warning from vonage that they were going to charge me with this so I have over $25 in over draft fees, plus fees per day until I could get money in there to cover it, vonage still hasn't gave me my money back said they haven't got the box tested yet. I had the box for less than two weeks, and they have cost me an arm and a let and customer service is no help, they just tell me a few more days a few more days, that is my money they stole I want it back,
If you want a good phone go with magic jack it won't work with satilite just like vonage but it does work and they don't BS you my uncle has it and it works great.

I have had Vonage phone service for a year with out any problems. I can recommend the service without hesitation.
I just spoke to a customer service representative and she answered all my questions concerning lesser minute plans quickly and fully.
My only concern is the cost rises but so do all my other cable and high speed internet services.

Worst customer service ever, I tried to cancel a year ago and they would not transfer my phone number to tmobile. So I waited just long enough for my contract to expire and canceled it. Bubye Vonage.

I have been living abroad for about 6 years and have been using Vonage ever since. As an expate I can not complain about the quality of service. At one point I did have connections problems however I found out that that bandwidth of the internet service provider I was using was very low and this was causing the issues with my Vonage service. Ever since I changed my internet provider that has much broader band width, I have had no issues what-so-ever.
So I really can't say anything bad about the service or the company..

I tried Vonage and had them come out to make my other phone jacks work and when they left my phone did not work or my internate and they said sorry we can't send anyone out to fix it for a week.I canceled and went back to my original service and they had it back working in less than a day.I would never recemend vonage to anyone.

I have had vonage since Oct 2005. yep, five years almost. No issues, oh once in awhile i can't get to the web interface but not often, I forward my calls to my cell when I am at work, they sent me a new modem after mine was three years old. Hooked it up, five minutes, it worked fine. When my power went out for five days, due to an ice storm, vonage service forwarded all my calls to my cell phone, no missed calls. I have a virtual number for my sister to call me from CA, I had an 800 number for awhile as well. I still love this service to this day. And the price is right. All my family live out of state so the phone bill was going to be outrageous with any other service, not vonage, its 25.00 a month...for the last five years. No surprises. yep they have my credit card, yep they charge it every month, nope no one has ripped me off yet. Guess I have just had excellent luck.

My name is Richard Bruyn and I had purchased a Netgear wireless-N300 Router.
Had problems hooking it up in conjunction with the Linksys broadband Router to the point that I was going to return it to Best Buy.
But before returning it I called Vonage and a gentleman by the name of Tyrone Williams walked me through the whole process. It works fine and I am very grateful for that.
Sincerely,
Richard Bruyn

I terminated my account Saturday, May 1, 2010. My service was poor & spotty for over 2 years. It was extremely frustrating to cancel my service and they threatened to charge me a fee . I have filed a BBB complaint and notified my bank and my lawyer. I have unplugged my phone and am no longer involved with Vonage on my end. I will send a certified letter tomorrow of same content to Vonage.

Vonage has made a terribole choice to hire a foreign customer service call center.B It is so aggravating to deal with someone who cannot give a straight answer.B It seemed as if this person had cue cards to read from that had practived repeating over and over, but had no real understanding of the English language.B It is annoying to have to speak to someone like this when you are trying to solve a problem.

I had 3 yrs of exceptional service followed by problem after problem. Previously this year (after moving) I started having issues with dropped calls, calls where the other party could not hear me or where there was static or digitizing (sp). Vonage blamed Comcast and Comcast (ISP) blamed Vonage for about 3 months will little help from either of them. Finally it seems to have been a little of both of their faults. More recently Vonga made some kind of system upgrade that has caused all sorts of problems for me. I get misrouted calls, internal corruption to conference bridges (once I dial in other non participant calls are routed there also), and an occasional dead line. I have called Vonage at least 10 times this week and everytime I have to explain it all over again, PROVE it all over again sometimes up to 5 times on one call(which pisses me off - they don't get the same response so I must be an idiot?), and jump through countless hoops. I am tired of getting the same low level call center rep. I just got a call back (after 2 days) in response to my trouble ticket and had to prove it all over again.

I have had vonage since 2006. I use if for business. Last year my calls started forwarding to my cell phone (that I rarely use, basically only for travel because I am in the office 24/7) I missed several calls. I called vonage and they did a retest (the only place I could locate their number was this page! TY!) Service improved temporarily. The next time it started happening again, I called and was told that it was forwarding because my internet was poor and they couldn't find the "connection". Funny however when I asked why my vonage phone would ring first 1 or 2 rings they had no answer.
I am fed up and am canceling my service. The aggravation is not worth the savings, although with the add on features like fax and the awful email translations of voice mails, it isn't cheap any more!
Today I called the regular number for tech support in a last ditch effort. I answered all their questions and was put in a que for a live person and then was disconnected. Save yourself time, money and sanity and just hook up a regular phone!
