My husband was out of work in the motion picture business for one year in 2009. We had been homeowners for over 25 years. We started the loan modification process from hell, we kept making payments over the phone, they're processing firm is in India. All those payments cleared my bank but were not credited. I spent hours mailing, faxing, calling proving my payments were made. Every one kept sending me to someone else. In the process of approx. 5 payments missing, they sold my account to Pennymac. They seemed nice said I had to start modification process over, can't help with lost payments. After only 3months they denied us, even though my husband was working stable. They forced us to short sale our house in Moorpark. We are now renters for the first time ever. We never found the lost payments in India. I'm 50 and have to start all over. This situation was very difficult living in fear for 2years. I can say after renting one year, I am happy again. My reason for writing is to hopefully help one person that thinks loosing house is the worst thing, it's possible to get through this process and see the light at the end of the tunnel.
