Suntrust is a joke. In less that 2 weeks I've had 2 NSF fees charged to my account in which I did not do. I'm closing my account because I think they are doing it. I don't write checks so how do I have a bounced check on my account

I walked into a SunTrust bank to cash a check today 4-12-2013 at 11:05 am and after waiting 3 minutes for someone to come to the desk, I was insulted and called ignorant and an idiot by the teller named Matt Gary at the SunTrust location of 17861 SE US Highway 41 in the Summerfield Walmart in Florida. I was there with my 2 year old son and was being insulted by the teller for 10 minutes, and he kept threatening me and saying "I don't have to cash your check' I can call the cops to get you out of here". He then threw my drivers license over the counter and hitting my kid with it. He made racial epithets at me saying "this is not the barrios that you should take your check and cash it at your bank". I can't believe that in today's job market that this guy can be as insulting as he was. As I was leaving with my funds, he then yelled "hey kid tell your idiot dad to have a nice day".

Awful, closing acct as well. I deposited a comdata check friday, funds were avail saturday, now today is sunday and they put a debit posted memo for same amt of my deposit. Now my bal is negative $400. Why would they do that. I have always deposited checks through atm and they are avail next day. They want to get more money from me how they have always had. Hate suntrust

I do not understand why Suntrust puts a "temporarily unavailable" message on accounts on a Saturday night when there is NO ONE around at any of the Suntrust banks to help you with your account. You can't move money within your accounts, deposit money to an account, check a balance, etc. I need to change banks!!

Asked to have document mailed, no problem, no fee. Called back within the hour to ask that it be faxed: 15.00 fee, plus a per page fee. Asked if the could cancel the initial request: No. Asked if they could waive the fee as I have never called to request any documents before:No.
Do yourself a favor: Find a local bank or CU that IS your neighbor...suntrust doesn't know the meaning of customer service. I am having my mtg oan refinanced with a local credit union.

Suntrust is full of bull..I recently had a check depostited in my account..then the saturday when my deposit posted ..i went to the atm withdrew 400 dollars..then like 15 minutes later..i check my balance and it's at 0.00 dollars..im like wtf? is going on..so i call them..they said look like the name on the deposited check is not the same...im like huh?..this has never happened the 3 yrs I Banked with them..then i call back they just keep giving me different excuses..then i notice a couple of days later my money is back in my account..go to access it and my checkcard is blocked at the atm..then i call them again..they say oh we cant remove the block..your account is in the process of being closed..you have to talk to a in perso branch rep....so with all this hassle i do so..the branch mgmt is not there at moment..so i talk to the bank teller..she cant give me any help...ive been soo frustrated..then they lied and said m account is being closed but when i check it by phone..im still able to access it..liars.. soo done

I find it strange that the bankruptcy department is closed today. I traded vehicles over the weekend and the dealership wants a payoff letter with per diem interest faxed to them immediately. I have tried all morning (from 8 AM til now, 1:35 P) and haven't gotten through yet. The recording says the department is closed. I would appreciate your assistance. My husband was on worker's comp. for two years. When they finally settled his case he got a pretty big check. Suntrust would not deposit the check into our account until someone from the insurance company verified they wrote the check to him. We had the account for over a year and he had received several checks from the insurance company prior to this. The insurance company also has an account with Suntrust. We also racked up over $300.00 in fees. They made us feel like we had done something illegal by trying to deposit a check. Then, two months later we had a dispute with our account. We were basically told screw you your not getting your money back cause we don't feel like taking the time to investigate. Two weeks after that, I was supposed to get a deposit in the account and no help at all. Very rude. Don't bank here. They have no consideration of their customers and very poor customer service. I switched to USAA.

i paid off my vehicle loan with suntrust several months ago and have still not received the title for my vehicle. when i called suntrust they gave me the run around. after several more calls suntrust told me they lost the title to my vehicle and they would look into it and call me back. surprise they never called me back so i called them again. this time i was on hold for about a half hour and when someone finally came back they told me that they couldn't find my title to my vehicle.i asked them how could they lose the title to my vehicle. they couldn't or wouldn't answer my question.i asked them how long has my vehicle title been missing, again no answer. the only thing they could tell me is that they would apply for a lost title and this would take a while and if i wanted the title to my vehicle faster i could go to the DMV and apply for it myself. this is a very poor way to treat a customer

I had dealt with all local branches close to my house (suntrust) until I was downtown and saw a different teller Kathleen...first of all she was not aware she could cash a check on a business acct if the acct is a sole propriator and was extremely rude..I had my mixed daughter and grandson with me so I do believe it could have been race related. Not knowing for sure why she was soooo rude, only she can answer that. This was the worst customer service person I have ever dealt with not too mention she made me wait 45 min,

Recently received notice that online ba.king not used in 120you days. Use 3-4dor times a week with sign on each time. Please get your recordz straight...thank you d.l.hunton jr. Please acknowledge...

I had troubles for three months... after a Suntrust teller gave money from my account to cash a check for the next person in line. Suntrust admitted the error, but put a fraud flag on my account. After that, they bounced every check I wrote over $1000 to a vendor I'd been paying monthly for two years.. and I had to deal with NSF fees from the vendor. Suntrust admitted the errors and refunded the NSFs... three times. In the last iteration, they gave me a free cashier's check to clear what I owed the vendor. After the third intervention by the bank manager back to their own customer service, it was finally resolved.

I wrote my rent check after checking my balance online. Suntrust charged me a monthly fee, bounced my check, and triggered a cascade of fees totaling over $200.00. I attempted to settle with Suntrust and close the account, and they refused to be flexible at all. Then they reported me to ChexSystems.

Stay away from SUNTRUST. Rude and unprofessional. Fight them by reporting them to the Fed Reserve and the BBB. They can pay huge CEO bonuses but then turn right around and claim hard times. Bull.

Suntrust's website when i log in to view my personal checking account says temporarily unavailable? Well isn't that the purpose of having the ease of access from home as opposed to going to ATM to see your balance and statements? How can you not have that information available for even a day?

I understand that businesses like banks are for profit, but is it too much to ask a bank to notify their customers that a bank account number was rejected? I left out a number when typing in my account number to pay my taxes and Suntrust refused to even verify any information. Simply refused to make payment, didnt call me, or notify the local tax department. Great for the local goverment who is richer for charging me a return check fee. Apparently, banks are too big to fail but not too big to look out for their customers that keep them afloat!

I opened an account with Suntrust back in November of 2010, I deposited my insurance check for safe keeping until i found a body shop to repair my car, I didnt kno I had to have to signatures on it, they accepted the check without the second party's signature, no they closed my account saying that i did something fraudulent and till this day they still have control of my funds, I need a lawyer immediately, it is 6 months later, ho can they hold on to my money so long?

Everyone has bad stuff to say but ive called customer service numerous times in the last one year that ive had an account with them including 5 mins sgo without problems. Cust serv is fast and clear. Eorks for me.

I have been banking with SunTrust for three years now, up until now I have had no problems. I call customer service for a question that I needed answered about my account, which the representative was very un-knowledgeable about her job. Usually I get representatives who know their job very well and provide excellent customer service; but this time, needless to say, she did not have any of these qualities. She acted as if she was doing me a favor even answering the phone. If you have to huff and puff every time I ask a question and get a half ass answer, you do not need to be in customer service.

I have a Home Equity loan with Suntrust. I've tried to pay my bill by computer, but I've been told that Suntrust does not except electronic transfers. This is a BANK?
I have to send each payment in 2 weeks in advance to make sure it gets to Suntrust on time, where electronic transfer would take 2 days! I was also told that Suntrust does not allow me to access my account online. These people are living in the 80's! Talk about MAJOR inconvenience!

This bank is horrible. Their employees does not care for customers and does not admit when they make a mistake. They gave my father the wrong amount of money and refused to do anything about it. The female employee did not even look apologetic. She claimed that they don't use their security camera and there's nothing they can do. I wonder what those three cameras in the back are for? My father and I will be closing our account today. He is old and does not speak any English. Of course he wont be able to stand up for himself. This is discrimination at it's finest.

Well I just opened a Sun Trust account the week before last
And I received my pin number at the middle of last week with a paper stating that if I have not already received my checkcard that I need to call this 1-800 number well I have not been able to speak to a real person yet. Needless to say I received my new card today and activated it and looked on the back for the customer service number and get this, it tells you to dial 1-800-SUNTRUST its 8 digits people what the hell is up with that ? I cannot get the damn number to go through . I do most of my banking from my mobile so tomarrow I am dropping this bank before I have a real problem to handle "on my own" !!!!

I have done business with Suntrust (First Union) for many, many years. For the last three years, the customer service has been the pitts ! I dealt with a young man today
(Brandon Davidson) from Winston-Salem, NC,
he helped me make up my mind,to close my accounts. He really put the icing on the cake, very rude, condescending, useless, just
worthless, he wasn't concerned with my issue, and would interrupt as I would try to explain my concerns. I was always pleased with (Ken Ross) from Winston-Salem, I guess he kept me coming back, but since I have moved to the other side of town, I will not deal with the atitudes ! You walk in the bank, and all the tellers look like they are sucking on lemons, what is up with this. No greeting, no smiles, train your people, because I have read your rating, extremely low in customer service. As of today, I will never recommend your bank to anyone, I would suggest to stay AWAY !!!!!!!

Rude and unhelpful. 1-800 number representatives can only access transactions that occurred within the past 30 days. I closed my account in person over 4 years ago but just found out it was reopened. The representative was extremely rude and said that obviously I just thought I closed it but clearly I didn't.
