My husband and I tried to put a security freeze on our credit report on 2/4/15. We both received the message that it couldn't be done at this time. On 2/5/15 (today), we were only give the option to UNFREEZE our account. We called 800-685-1111 to put a freeze on the account by phone and was told both accounts HAD a freeze on them. When we put a security freeze in place through Transunion and Experian, we received a printout and a code - should we want to remove the freeze at a later date. We don't have anything from Equifax, should we need to remove the freeze. We have not been able to find a way to talk to a live person about this. Can't someone help us. Let me start with that this concerns attempting to get a credit freeze on my father's credit who passed away in December. I cannot seem to be able to reach a human I can talk to on the phone at Equifax. I tried a chat session and only got referred to a web site, this representative, Tatiana, left me no furrther ahead than when I started. It ended with me quite frustrated and upset at the customer service I was NOT provided.
Procedure on passing of a family member is to - Request the credit report is
flagged as Deceased. Do Not Issue Credit'. I am legal personal representative, I have death certificate and letter from probate granting me authority as personal representative. If there is a local office I would gladly visit with the legal papers needed that I have.

I wanted to dispute an item on my report. Before proceeding, the representative asked for SSN, DOB, place of birth, and 2 account numbers of debts held. This number is an identify theft scam. When I explained my concerns when Experian and TransUnion did not require all of this information, only my SSN and DOB with knowledge about what was on the credit report, the representative wanted me to list out all of the questions the other companies were asking.

I was charged 29 dollars extra to view all three of my credit scores. I have viewing all three scores when I pull up a credit alert from my E-mail for my family plan account. If a change has occurred , no one notified me of the change. Therefore I think this charge of 29 dollars should be taken off of my credit card. . Respectfully Yours, LC Simmons

I was making a real estate transaction that was time sensitive. Everything was going well until the firm I was dealing with ran my Equifax report., (the only company they use.) Mind you, the other major credit reporting companies got it straight, not this one.
I have sent the information requested 2 X and was assured by all parties that the combining of my files would take place within 48 hours, This was nearly a month ago! I secured financing through another method and paid outright for my purchase, no thanks to the numerous people involved. I will keep trying, but this is no way to run a business that has consequences that are costly. Even when they are at fault or in the wrong, it isn't fixed satisfactorily. I will give you praise on the fact that everyone was polite and seemed sincere, but just fix the mess, Please.

Trying To Phone Your Company In Canada Is About The Most Annoying Process I Have Been Through, The Automated System Is Ridiculous. I Am In The Process Of Trying To Buy A Home And Get Financing. Your Company Is Holding Me Up According To My Bank. I Have Been Trying All Day To Speak To A Live Body But The Only Luck I Had Was Calling The Usa. Try Calling The Number I Was Given And See What Nonsense It Is. You Are Prompted To Press 1 Or 2 Then Told Those Numbers Don't Exist. I Can Honestly Say For A Company That Banks And People Require Immediate Service From It Is Very Poorly Run.

I ordered my free credit report and gave my credit card number for $7.95. The computer told me my card was charged $19.95 and then hung up. I spoke with Mayten...and she says I have been only charged $7.95 and will be sent my score and credit report in the mail. All of this has taken about an hour, and I am exhausted....and I must wait 7 to 10 days to see if anything shows up. I am 75 years old...and I need for this to be less trying. L. King

have tried to reach Equifax on-line to get report. Message comes up 'Page No Longer Available',, clicked on Fix Problem and nothing happens. have had a notice that a fraud alert has been put on my account and I am eligible for a free report. using the www. site provided so where do I go next?

My attorneys, the courts, the judge, and myself sent in a 40 page document to correct/remove items from my credit report. I was supposed to receive an updated report that is supposed to show where the improper items were removed. In addition, I have signed documentation from Equifax that they have indeed received all documentation. This was completed and signed for by Equifax 7/8/2013. Today is 4/30/2014 and not only is the information that supposed to be removed still on my credit report they never did anything according to the most recent credit report that was run two weeks ago. I try calling and Jeremy or whoever answers states "Our systems are down call back in 15 min" of course we have to call back They use fake names and refuse to give last names. My next step is a law suite. I can prove that Equifax received the information from my attorneys, from the NJ 6th district court Judge Wizmur and myself. According to the "Fair Credit Reporting Act' If I can prove that I was denied credit or because of items that do not belong on my report or there are entries on my credit report should have been removed by Equifax or any of the 3 credit reporting agencies and they received the info and did not remove it I can sue . I can prove hands down they have received it. Nor have they ever supplied me with an updated report after the dispute was filed but they keep asking me for money and still don't produce a report. I found out why, I am entitled to recover all cost due to their errors. I am entitled to receive back. Because of the incorrect entries on my credit report I have paid over 30,000 I am suing. I am tired of going through this. I am tired of paying lawyers, I am tired of sending documentation and calling creditors and the creditors have told me they have given this info to Equifax and have sent me a copy. I have the proof that they told Equifax to remove certain items and its NOT DONE. I ALSO Want to s/w with someone from the USA. The people overseas DO NOT KNOW OUR LAWS they only care about getting paid I had a company from India call me and asked me for 700.00 to fix my credit I said why the items that need to be removed should have been removed for free. I asked them how did you get my info they said "We buy it from Equifax" I JUST COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WERE NOT TAKING THESE ITMES OFF MY REPORT THEN The light bulb went off! THIS IS WHY THEY HAVE NOT REMOVED WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO REMOVE. THEY ARE SELLING MY INFORMATION. THE LOWERE MY SCORE IS THEY GET TO SELL MY INFO AND MAKE MONEY OFF OF ME. I've had it. I've had it its been over a year I am suing these people and I will win. I can prove my case in black and white! either a creditor or the credit agency

I can not get ahold of anyone , I never ask for my credit report in at least three years, I ask for one now and u say I already did it within the last year I HAVE NOT !!!!!!!!!!!! WOULD LOVE TO TALK WITH SOME ONE ALIVE

...what an abomination of a company, when it comes to communication...I suggest someone at the top should try to call your company and speak to a live agent...I have tried this many times and used the internet to help me, but NOT! each time you get routed through multiple menus each of which some genius thinks we need to hear more about the products and services as we get more and more steamed up!

Tried to order a credit report package from Equifax online for a one time charge. After entering all my information the final page said the transaction could not be completed and I needed to call customer service to finish verifying my identity. I even received a confirmation email showing the failed transaction and that $0.00 would be charged to my account. I really needed the reports so I called customer service. After speaking with someone from India, who asked the EXACT same questions I answered online the first time I tried to order, my identity was verified and I ordered my reports. A couple of hours later I checked my bank account and found I was charged TWICE!! When I called to reverse one of the charges, again I spoke to someone in India, I was told I would have to fax copies of my SSN and drivers license with current address to prove my identity before the extra charge could be removed, even though I had emails from Equifax proving one of the charges should never have been made. When I asked why I needed to fax information they already had on file and DID NOT need to fax anything to prove my identity when I made the purchase they couldn't give me an answer. Going through my bank to have the extra charge removed. Such a rip off!!

I do not know how you stay in business with all the inaccurate information. It is Impossible to reach a live person to correct mistakes..No wonder there are so many negative articles in newspapers about the credit reporting services. Trans Union is far superior.

Icalled the number for Customer Service listed on the home page and it was no longer in service. It is very, very difficult to find the department I needed or to talk with a live person. The website is not customer friendly!

No matter what number I called, I got a vendor rep in India. They were rude abrupt, lied repeatedly. I ordered my free report 4 weeks ago, got them from Experian and Trans Union. Ordered my scores directly from the companies at $7.95 each. Got them from Experian and Trans Union. The vendor rep blames the mess on freecreditreport.com where we are required to order the reports only from. They even blamed the lack of scores from them when I ordered them from the companies direct. Equifax in addition has a trick vru that adds a chargeable credit report to the score order with a different vru voice even though I never asked for it. One rep when asked to pass to a dispute department, passed me to a Trans Union rep.

I have filed complaints with the House banking and Finance committee, the FTC, the Consumer Financial Protection Board, 3 US congressmen, my state Attorney General, the Attorney generals of Georgia and California where they have corporate offices. When you dial their corporate office numbers, you get India. When I called a number given to me prior when I had this same issue. Their dispute department refused to send me a free report as required or the score, nor credit me for the report that should have been free. This is fraud and they accept and condone it. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY, WHAT THEY DID TO ME WAS A SCAM.

I reviewed the comments on line about Equifax Customer Service. Not only was I able to get to speak to a live person (Linda was her name). Extremely pleasent and extremely helpful. Resolved my situation.

It is hard to beleive some of the comments when I had a great experience.

The reason why you couldn't get a American representative is that Businesses have, what you call, a "Trunk Line". And it's nearly impossible to get to an American Representative, unless that representative has a direct line (which they do not have, unless that they are in the higher departments or if they are the managers). Good thing I'm really patient.

numbers worked. thank you. unfortunately equifax hires horrible customer service employees. and i talked to quite a few. they didnt solve or even file my 200,000$ dispute. aparently being 12 years old and getting a second mortgage on the house you purchased at age one doesnt register in the horribly rude stuck up staff at equifax. oh and to top it off they wanted to charge me 16.95 to check on my info, i said yes. they said card didnt go through. they tried twice and said theres nothing they can do till i have more cash. i just got online and checked my bank account and not only did it go through BOTH times. It overdrew my account twice and they didnt give me what i paid for. how do you sue a creedit agency. they took my money twice lied and didnt give me what i was paying for. now im 100$ negative in my bank account. and still havve never had a credit card because i cant get aproved.

My name is Miriam Escobar and I filled bankruptcy 2 years ago. My mortgage and a car where not included in the bankruptcy. I have a copy of the payment history that I have been paying the mortgage and the car all along and I would like to mail or fax to you in order for you to correct my credit record.
