Wheelchair wait time is abominable.I waited 45 minutes to get someone to take me to my gate in Detroit. The attendant was very good, but the wait time cut into my time to eat a sandwich and go to the restroom. We should not have to arrive 3 hours ahead of our departure just to be able to have wheelchair service. The attendant told me they were shorthanded. Delta is always shorthanded. There were no porters and no curbside check-in at Midway Airport in Chicago going to Detroit. I was told curbside and porter service was "suspended" due to reduced need. Well, I have need and had great difficulty trying to move three pieces of luggage inside to the Delta counter with no help. The limo driver had to stay with the car. You are not taking care of those of us who need assistance. Each time I arrived at the airport in Chicago, Detroit and Austin, I had to wait for the wheelchair to arrive at least 20 minutes. This is not acceptable. I will consider Southwest and other airlines in the future.
