I will never buy a Toshiba product again. I had my laptop for September 10-October 21 2013. It died just died wont turn on nothing. They are charging me to return it to them to have it fixed or looked at! It is obvious a defective laptop. Nothing I did! It has never been near liquid or mishandled in anyway. Customer Service Rep told me he was doing me a favor by helping me. I told him he was doing his job that he got paid for. Maybe it was the language barrier!

I got the toshiba computer as a gift less than two years ago, new and now it has completely crashed and would not let me log in to my computer. Later the whole entire hard drive deleted. I'm very disappointed with the company service and the product; I'm disappointed with TOSHIBA! I will never use their products again. And I will make sure others will not have to buy their defective, cheap products and their unuseful customer service. I should have bought a Sony or a apple. No wonder the school lends these laptops, they're so cheap, no one would want to steal them. When I first got it, it glitched so I thought it wouldn't be a big deal; I WAS WRONG. Never ever again! Good bye TOSHIBA! I'm throwing you in the pile of junk. I should just break the computer while I'm at it.

Wow, Called all the tech did was ask for my personal information. Which I gave name email phone number. Then told me I need to pay over one hundred dollars to know what resolution their TV used. Will never buy anything Toshiba again. Garbage. TCL is much cheaper, and when you get it home it works.

My phone call to Toshiba was about my Laptop I had purchased a little over a month ago from ShopNBC ( A Home Shopping Network ).
My previous Laptop was a Gateway, it had 4 4 GB RAM, 640 GB HDD, 15.6 screen, Quad procesor, Skype, Microsoft 2010 Office Starter, etc...and this TOHIBA is 17.3", 6 GB RAM, 750 GB HDD, Quad Processor, Microsoft 2010 Office Starter and it cost a considerable amount LESS than my Gateway. My Gateway had crashed, I don't know how, but it had accumulated A LOT of corrupted files within 3-5 weeks and it had taken up over 100 GB of space, I noticed one day I had 640 GB and then it dropped to 542 GB HDD and I DID NOT download any programs or update any programs and when I called Microsoft they showed me where all the "corrupted files " were and they tried to sell me a "one year service plan for $199.00 or a ONE TIME FIX or $99.00" and I declined figured I would just take it to Best Buy and have them fix it but, and I was told my Microsoft, that if I didn't have this problem fixed that my computer would eventually crash, and then 3 weeks later and it did crash !!! So I did not have my laptop and to use a computer I would have to had gotten up and out of bed and gone into our home office to use the desk-top computer my brother had someone make for him, so I could check e-mails and maybe even play a game and then a week later I had seen this Toshiba presentation on ShopNBC and like I said, it is bigger ( 17.3" ) more Ram and Hard Drive space and also the Quad Processor which is what I really prefer in a Laptop or Desktop, so I ordered it and received it within 5 days and then set it up like my Gateway was.
I downloaded AOL, I connected our wireless ALL-IN-ONE printer/copier/scan/fax machine up to it, dowloaded an anti-virus program AFTER my 30 day Free trial of NORTON's Virus program had expired.
I had called Toshiba to ask about all these programs that are from Toshiba and are installed on my Laptop, and asked what they were, what they did and IF I did need them or not becuse I was trying to regain some GB HDD memory space by un-installing some of the Toshiba programs and he gave me the website that decribed all the Toshiba programs that are installed on Toshiba brand Laptop and Desktop computers so I have to read about these prgrams and decide if I should delete them or not BUT my brother is very computer knowledgeable so I will let him look at these programs and let him tell me if I can uninstall some of them to regain some memory space.
I would have preferred if he could have talked tome about all the Toshiba programs and told me what they were for and if I did need them or if it was OK to un-install them because I am very sick, termiinally sick and I take a lot of medicaions, esecially at nght and reading up about hem at this time of night, i am not in my right frame ofmind and I would not want to un-iinstall a program and find out later that I did need ot or I could have needed it in the future, like the program to burn CD's and/or DVD's etc...
I guess my exprience with the Customer Service person was good, it would have been better for me if, like I said, HE would have explained to me what those programs were and if I needed them or not, etc. etc. etc...
So on a scale between 1-10, 1 being the least and 10 the best, I would give him an 8...
Maybe if it was a more difficult
"technical issue" I would hope that I will not have any problems that any of you have experienced have had...especially since these products, Computers, Laptops, TV's etc...cost A LOT of money and I would expect to get assistance no matter how much I paid for whatever Toshiba product I might own...
Thanks for taking the time to read this. One thing I have become aware of is that as aggravated as I can get about anything I own, like my TV, laptop, dishwasher, lawnmower, whatever, and if I called because something is not working and the reason for my phone call is to ask for help to get it fixed, I need to control my temper because as mad as Imight be, yelling n cussing at a customer service representative isn't going to help me get my produts fixed any faster, all their job is, is to try to help us,the consumers, to make the proper phone calls to whoever, so they can help us get our products fixed as fast as they can. They cannot snap their fingers and BOOM all of the sudden our problems will be fixed and yelling and cussing at them is just not right, it is not their fault we are having problems with our products and if anything, if we do yell and cuss, whatever messages we might gove them to give to someone that couold acually help, could end up on the botttom of the pile of complaints they OR they might " accidentally " end up in the trash " and it would take longer for us to get out products fixed...if anything "Kill them with Kindness "... Have a great week !!!

Don't waste your time with Toshiba customer support. I have had my mini-notebook for around a year and the HDD failed completely. I called trying to get the model of the toshiba drive in it so I can replace it. He told me the specs that are written on the box when you get the laptop, and told me I should send it back for repair. He wouldn't tell me the item number for the HDD. When I politely asked why he couldn't give me the item/model number of the HDD in that notebook, he told me I was not on the same page as him and hung up. Hung up. He may have been a contract employee in another contry, but he just cost Toshiba my future business.

I have heard of companies that will promise anything in order for you to let them charge your card but this is the first time i have ever encountered one. Was having problems with my lap top and went online to look for others who had similar issues. Found a few people with similar issue they said that toshabia was no help and just told them to replace their hard drive.. posting was old so i figured maybe it was out of date so i called for technical support and when i got someone i made it clear that i wanted to know if they could fix the issue before i decided to shell out money. i was asked for the error codes and told yes it was something that trouble shooting could fix. I asked what would happen if we couldn't get it through toubleshooting and was told that if we could not get it resolved then yes i would get my money back so i went ahead and paid. Need less to say the help i got was useless and of course low and behold they couldn't figure out the problem so they blame the hard drive and consider that resolving the issue. when i said ok now that we couldn't resolve this please refund my card i was given the run around and a number to someone who pretty much told me "Tough, just talking to you and suggesting restarting your computer and taking out the battery is considered troubleshoot so you got what you paid for. And of course no one would have promised you a refund because we do not do refunds." Now i get to try and find someone I can talk to here in the united states oh joy of joy the hopes im going to have to jump through to get my money back. ugg.

Customer service sucks. They don't care that I have had the same problem 4 times with in 4 monts with brand new laptops. funny how the hard drive keeps going out. Told me that they can't connect me with a supervisor. No help at all. clear that they don't care about their customers

I bought a 52 inch LCD TV in February 09 worked great and loved it till January of 2011 when the screen went to vertical lines on half of the TV. Sent it to a repairman and found out the board was fried and was going to cost just as much as a new TV. Contacted customer service and was told since it was out of warranty I was out of luck. Lets just say I'm done with Toshiba and all of there products if they can't stand behind what they make and that I'm a proud new owner of a pile of Toshiba TV parts or I might just send there junk back to them.

tech support sucks plus I was lied to twice (by 2 different tech workers) A supervisor corrected me and tld me I was not lied to but that I had been 'misinformed' ha, as I said....I was lied to, They told me that I would not have to pay to ship it back to them. Had my new lap top less than 2 months and the hard drive gave out! They want me to pay to send it back to them so they can determine if it was my fault thus voiding the warranty and of course they will find it to be my fault in some way, shape or form so I will have to pay for that crappy laptop a second time.

Never ever buy Toshiba! I bought a new lap top in December. The power cord that came with it didn't work. I returned it and then sent a replacement. It didn't fit my lap top. Trying to talk to an intelligent, English speaking and understanding person is impossible. Transfer after transfer after transfer. No one would help. If you email them, they just ssy call their customer service number. Forget Toshiba

This is going to be long but if you are in the market for a new laptop, I recommend you stay clear of TOSHIBA!

I decided to upgrade to a new Laptop back in April. I have had Dell's and an HP and they were decent. No real issues. I came across a Toshiba U505-s2002 at walmart. It is a little brown laptop that seemed rather practical. I wanted something that was compact but did not want a mini. I purchased one! I booted it up and started going through everything and it shuts down on me with an error. The computer says it has a fan malfunction and states that it needs to be returned to the depot. I thought it was just my luck. The computer got very hot before it just powered off. So the first two-three weeks of becoming a new owner of this laptop, it was at the depot "being repaired." I thought to myself, Just my luck! I asked them to check the hard drive over since the computer did get extremely hot. They said it was ok. I got it back and it froze up on me continuously. I called and spoke to their technical support a couple times. This goes on for a couple of months. I go to turn my computer on and the screen is now rainbow! You can not see the desktop! So I once again call tech support and we discover that if i put pressure on the back of the screen, my desktop appears where the pressure is. ( This laptop sits on my desk and has never been dropped or exposed to water or any harsh treatment. It has no scratches and looks brand new.) While on the phone I cracked the screen by applying pressure to it. The tech knew this because he was helping me get a paper off of the computer that was due for class the next day. He says send it in and we will take care of it. three more weeks go by and they return my computer to me still damaged. They said it is physical damage and it is not covered. I tried to explain but decided it was not worth my time. I took my computer to a local repair shop since a toshiba one was 2 hours away. They put in a new screen and I paid for it. I was still having troubles with my hard drive freezing on the machine so i called them a couple more times. They had me download a few drivers and so called fixes and report back. Finally at 3 am while working on a 15 page term paper for a final my computer froze up and wouldn't even boot! The technician advised me and walked me through re-seating the hard drive and memory chips. No luck. I sent it back in again. I recieved a phone call from toshiba stating that the screen was cracked and they were not going to take care of my computer under warranty! This hard drive issue started within the first two weeks of my purchase! It was because my fans were not hooked up internally from the get go. I sucked it up once again and ordered a new hard drive and was waiting for my computer to arrive back from the depot. It came alright! I took it straight to the local shop where they let me watch as they worked on it.

First off, the screw in the hard drive was cross threaded and no in all the way and crooked. They commented on it and I saw it. I know it was not like that when i re seated it. No big deal. Easy fix. They put in a new western digital hard drive and started loading the OS. we noticed the strip across the top of my keyboard was not popped in all the way. Someone was sloppy when assembling it at the depot obviously. Once booted, The keyboard did not work at all! so they took it apart to discover they never bothered to even plug it back in. Once plugged back in the number 4 6 and space bar do not work. Seriously TOSHIBA?

What is a 1 year warranty? I have been completely honest and it seems like they will find a way around no backing their product. I now have had to put new fans, screen, hard drive, and keyboard into a computer that was purchased late april 2010!

Absolutely fed up with their customer service!

I would not recommend a toshiba product to anyone and I hope this helps you in making your next computer purchase.

NEVER BUY A TOSHIBA ITEM!!

i bought a toshiba satellite L650 laptop, a few months ago i started
having a problem with it that the battery did not charge, so when i
plugged it in it was saying under the battery meter 'plugged in not
charging' but besides that it was in perfect beautiful working
condition, so to fix the problem with the battery i shipped in the
laptop to toshiba, on about 10/25/10, i waited more then a month for a
response on the status of my repair while i was keeping on checking on
their website, they only said that they are waiting on parts, so after
waiting more then a month they told me that they detected spillage in
the hard drive, so i must or pay approx.$300 or it will be shipped
back without repair, i did not want to pay $300 to fix a silly battery
issue, so they shipped it back without repair, when i received the
laptop, the keyboard was damaged, its not flat it comes up by the
upper left side, so it looks like they didn't properly screw it back,

but the main problem was that when i plugged it in and turn it on,
after being on for a minute or two it goes right dead, so i need to
keep on turning on the laptop it works for a minute and goes dead! so
i called toshiba, and claimed that if they did not want to fix the
problem with the battery thats ok, but why did they damage my laptop
completely?!! they kept on repeating that because of the spillage they
can not repair it, so i said that i am not asking to repair, i am
only asking not to damage my laptop!! but they declined to help!

Where is my Product Key for my 2 last Toshiba laptops I bought from Wal mart, they are telling me I must purchase this for $ 89.00 each, are you kidding, you are getting ready to have these returned and I will get me a Dell, I have already 2 but I bought a Toshiba from walmart.com, and one from the store, did not even know they did not come with Microsoft Office pre-installed, I should not have to buy this program, both my Dell desk and laptop came with Microsoft Office pre-installed. What is going on here?

This is worst customer service next to Best Buy ever. My computer was in the time frame to return to the store and Best Buy will not return because my daughter ripped off the windows 7 sticker and Toshiba will not return it from Best Buy so Best Buy will not return it from me. The man at Toshiba can not help me and does not know of anyone who can authorize them to return it and there is noone higher than higher than him I can speak with. He said when I buy a computer I pretty much paying for the sticker. If I knew that I never would have spent 400 dollars for a sticker. This is something customers should be informed of before they purchase a product. This is the worst laptop I have ever owned. My itouch 3rd generation mp3 player is faster than this garbage they pass off as a laptop.

I purchased my NB 310 notebook 12 months ago. Since I've had it I've had numerous problems, first with the battery and now I have a black screen and the notebook will not boot up. I have had little support from toshiba with this matter. Althought for a fee of 175.00 to 400.00$ they may be able to replace the hard drive. If I had that kind of money I would buy another note book not fix one that's barely a year old.

Terrible support. My 27 day old laptop has a wifi card problem (can't see my LAN printer) as diagnosed by my router maker's tech suppport guy (at Buffalo) who is very sharp. Two days with Toshiba, going slowly over some of the things the Buffalo guy did in 2 hours, taking 6 hours to call back when they say they'll do it in 2, and now they say they will call from level 3 support in a week so maybe they can authorize me to send it in. I'm not sure if I should send it in or not based upon previous comments. They're ruining their reputation fast.

Toshiba's quality is slipping. I have purchased many Toshiba laptops personally and for my company. I will never purchase another Toshiba after my last one it has been plaqued with problems. Dealing with their Windows upgrade and customer service that just wastes time offering solutions that I tell them I have already tried. I guess it messes up there script if they have to skip portions. Still trying to find an answer to why the install doesnt work, even my IT guy has given up. And now they tell me since my computer is out of warranty it will cost $35.00/hr for them to Continue to help me install their upgrade.

I just called Toshiba's tech support and was very pleased with great service. The first tech knew soon he did not know how to help and within one hour another called me back and got both problems resolved quickly and efficiently as well as giving me more information about how some of the software works so I could better operate my Toshiba laptop.

i recommend not to buy anything toshiba or send it in for repairs becuase they will lose your package in the mail it took me 3 weeks just to receive a box for my laptop and now they lost it in the mail

Posted by Mdowdy

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever recieved. I sent in my laptop for repair and they lost it. After a month of phone tag and attempts at reaching a real person I was finally reassured that a replacement would be forthcoming. That was over a month ago. Going on 3 months without my laptop and it is quite apparent from my discussions with "customer service" that they could care less. DO NOT BUY TOSHIBA PRODUCTS! If anything changes I will let you know.
