Today is day 21 with no power for us in Jersey City. Our electric repairs got the OK by the city inspector to be turned on on Friday afternoon. We have been waiting for PSEG to come since then-it is now Sunday. We cannot get good information from them, except that we are "on their inspections list." the customer representative gave me two bad numbers to call and refused to transfer me to a manger.

They promised to come yesterday and did not. It is too cold to do this any longer. We need heat. Any recommendations on how to get help would be appreciated.

Our power was finally restored last night, and we were home when they were working so we got to witness first hand exactly what was going on. There were about 4 PSE&G trucks on the street to fix ONE pole. There were about TWENTY PSE&G guys standing around doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for a half hour. There was one guy up in the bucket truck working on the pole and the other guys were doing NOTHING. We were standing right there and could hear they weren't talking about anything even related to fixing the pole. I don't understand why they need so many guys/tucks standing/sitting around doing NOTHING when they could be at other locations, fixing other issues!! They are getting paid A LOT of money to stand around and do NOTHING. I don't care if they've been working overtime for the past two weeks. THAT IS THEIR JOB and they are getting paid a lot of overtime money to do it!!! Why should I appreciate that?? If I work overtime at my job and get paid for it, I don't expect people to kiss my feet. It is clearly obvious that the reason the power restoration is taking so long is because PSE&G is HORRIBLE at running things in an efficient manner. There is absolutely no reason that 4 or 5 trucks need to be sitting on the street and 20 guys standing on the sidewalk, doing NOTHING, when only one truck is needed and a few guys. If they were running things efficiently, all power would've been restored a week ago. We are disgusted with PSE&G and I hope after the evaluation of everything, Christie realizes this to and gets rid of them from NJ for good!!

Without power in Chesterfield since the storm..pse & g has day after day about when we are being restored. They day everyday by midnight and yet here we are. I understand about all the affected areas and they ate working hard..last Wednesday a worker took the tree down that was leaning..(we live on a farm) and seemed annoyed..I asked what is the problem? He replied, "did you even call this in ...are you kidding?? Everyday 5 times a day! He said he was heading back to the office..that this is a quick fix...its a fuse..that's the last we saw of him.

And in responmse to the posting below by Lindamenina; you could not be farther from the truth with regard to the executives from PSEG. AS it has been since the beginnings of PSEG, the executives managers and supervisors at PSEG are now and have always been hands on. From the CEO, to the V.P's to the Managers - all have been involved in the restoration efforts. Managers travel all over the state - organizing and managing restoration efforts - spending days and weeks away from family, disregarding their own homes and obstacles in order to fulfill their duties. The CEO and Executives work tirelessly to ensure the flow of capital, to ensure the inflow of mutual aid from other states, to ensure the ongoing organization of Government intervention so crucial to the sustainability of restoration efforts. What you don't understand, what you will never understand, unless you work for PSEG, is that PSEG is not unlike a family who comes together in times of adversity. A family of dedicated, skilled, brave, highly trained employees who put their lives on the line to be sure that you have lights and heat. Did you expect a CEO to go up in a bucket truck to repair live 13kv wires? That is unrealistic, unreasonable and ridiculous. Each employee, whether at PSEG or any other company, has their place, their duties and their job specs. This is called an infrastructure and without it - you would experience the inefficiencies and outages so many customer of other utilities experience throughout each and every year. As the saying goes - "Ignorance is Bliss" and your posting is unquestionable proof of the same. I suggest you stop and thank one of the thousands of PSEG employees and contractors who look past the paycheck and do what they do for you - do what they do for your family - do what they do for your children, parents, grandparents and any other you care for - for it is those same employees that make up the #1 utility in the United States for nearly 10 years running and it is those same employees that wil be at your doorstep in your time of need.

It is truly sad when individuals like yourself post such misinformation and bash the very company that has taken on the restoration of power to close to 2,000,000 customers after the WORST hurricane is the history of our state. Have you any idea how difficult, dangerous and tedious the repair work can be during such a restoration? Have you any idea how many employees of PSEG put their lives on hold, disregarded hardships, home damage and personal obstacles to work around the clock - 16 hours a day since the storm hit NJ to restore power to you and your hateful cohorts? Have you ever spent 2-3 hours, 35-55 feet in the air in a bucket truck, in 35 degree weather having few or no breaks because of your sense of duty and responsibility? NO - I assume you have no idea of the resilience and tenacity it takes to do suchg work. Do you understand how the power grid functions, how intricate the substation systems are or how much manpower it takes to repair the devastating damage that occured at the same? NO - I assume you don't. It is very simple to post hate and dissention when you sit behind a desk or in you lounge chair. Just a taste of the inefficencies of utility companies such as JCP&L will change your opinion very quickly. Just as spoiled children take their advantages for granted - so do many of the PSEG customers who have no idea of the attrocities suffered at the hands of other utilities who, unlike PSEG and its employees who work and live in our state, have no vested interest in our state - no sense of responsibility or duty to the residents of our state and absolutely NO clue of the difficulties faced by a utility after a storm of such magnitude - then again, whyt should you care? You simply type your opinion - sitting at your computer - while the hard working men and women of PSEG work tirelessly to make sure your lights are on. Maybe its best that you move to an area that is serviced by another utility, because only then will you understand what you had.

We need to be offered other choices for electric companies because PSE&G needs to go. If we can choose cable and phone companies why can't we do the same with power companies. With competition things would definitely change. Then PSE&G would need to learn how to do their job and i mean from customer representatives to that pathetic ralph izzo. They would loose all their customers for sure.I would be the first in line.

I live in Plainfield and there have not been a PSE&G crew on my avenue yet. I live on Hillside Ave, and from Watchung ave to Muhlinberg Hospital annex we have no power. Yesterday morning i spoke with a crew that was on Evergreen and was told they will get to Hillside and the other streets by Midnight tonight. This was also listed on the website, now i got home from work to find out nothing was done. Call them and was informed that all service was restored and a tech will call us on Sunday. We have blocks here where the Trees are still on the down lines and have not been remove and they are saying wait until Sunday for a call. Comcast is out there doing what they're supposed to be doing for their Customers and No PSE&G. This is the Service i'm paying for.

I'm from mountainside & I'm still without power. I'm very disappointed with the power company. There was no need for this. The workers are doing what they can and I blame the top dogs of PSE&G for being incompetents and not doing their jobs! I'm sure they are all enjoying their nice warm houses with their families & people like me have to endure another night in the dark and in the cold. I'm disgusted!

I hate PSE&G. We are still without power in Hillside (my street and two other next to us) the rest of people have power. There is a pole down which they are aware of but we have seen NO TRUCKS in our neighborhood, not even the out of state crews.
Originally, we were told Monday, then it was actually moved up to Friday the 2nd. Now it is the 9th and still no power. They estimated 401 customers in Hillside would be restored yesterday, yet they only restored FOURTEEN> Today they say 656 - does that mean 20??? At this rate, we'll be out of power until Thanksgiving. I too would like to file a claim for all of the food we lost, the gas we had to purchase to drive all around the state to stay at other houses, because it is 46 degrees in my house and you can see your breath. It is UTTERLY UNLIVEABLE in my house at this time. I have emailed the Mayor and the Governor (not like that will do anything). nobody cares - they are now reporting 98% restored - we will be forgotten now and they will take their times because their numbers show otherwise. I cannot take one more minute of no power. I think we should all file some kind of suit against PSE&G.

I have been without heat and electric since Sandy hit. PSE&G just has to connect one down wire that came down when our Christmas tree hit our house. We hired a crew to get rid of the tree so that it would make it easy for PSE&G. NOT!!!! They a very rude when you call. I explained my problem with asthma, they told me to call 911. The past couple of days I posted a sign "PSE&G PLEASE HELP WE NEED HEAT & ELECTRIC" some one keeps on tearing them down, humm I wonder who??? I made another sign and taped it to the inside od my screen door and locked the screen. My dog will get them before they get that sign! Pissed in Piscataway N.J.

This is now the 10th day without power here in Linden, NJ. The cold has penetrated our bones and I seriously don't know how much more of this we can take. First we were told November 5th was the latest date power would be completely restored; then they pushed that to 11:59pm November 9th (which is about 1.5 days away). Do they care at all that people are experiencing hypothermia? This is insane!! I'm calling the Governor's office tomorrow to see if they could hasten restoration.

We are going to day 10 with no power in Elmwood Park, Nj. This is absolutely insane to me and other fellow residents of the town. We keep getting promised power since Sunday and nothing!!!! The weather is getting colder and colder each day. Get some trucks out here!! We have not seen ONE truck doing anything !!!

We finally got POWER BACK after 8 days, But the Question I want to ask PSE&G is what Telephone number should we call to file a claim for all the food that we lost in our refrigerator, becaue I heard they do reimburse you for your loss.

We still don't have power and pseg doesn't give us a proper date. We live in Hackensack. I cannot even bother to go home because the blocks around us have power, but we don't. They said Sat, Fri and Sun. They also said Tuesday. It's already freezing and now we have to contend with a storm. PSEG. They're trying? All I have seen them do is say "oh we are just working on gas today" or "those dates weren't promised." . It's easy to bullpeople when you're not sitting in the dark, too. Just because there's no power doesn't mean we are ignorant cave men.

I live in Elmwood Park NJ and we still dont have power (8th day). I've called Customer Service and they said it was a substation that failed. I found out later that there is a tree that fell on some wires and the Elmwood Park DPW has been waiting for PSE&G to tell them its okay to cut down the tree. So yes, they lied to me! I have yet to see a SINGLE truck in town and their customer service and website is TERRIBLE. The DPW said they can fix it in less than 20minutes!! Send A DAMN TRUCK TO ELMWOOD PARK!

They keep pushing the date for power. I had high hopes that we were gonna get power monday as garenteed but now heres tuesday no power still and theres a snow storm coming who knows if they will fix it soon. Its too cold for this. People need to get out there and fix it or talk to their customers nd tell them whats really going on.

Complete BS!!! This is completely a risk issue for PSE&G. With the impending N. Easter it is far easier for PSE&G to delay restoration of services. if they devote 100% toward power restoration prior to Wednesday's storm they will have used resources, manpower, repair cost that will only have to be reinvested in post Wednesday! One of the head operations guys probably organized a meeting and said... We have another potential adverse impact issue to contend with... let's delay all repairs until we realize all the net damage. Let's throw out some communications and announcements to customers about restored areas to make it seem like we are doing everything we can.

We were able to get a live person on Sat, and the operator was very courteous...however, she switched me to another number and after waiting another 20 minutes the line was disconnected! I called again and after giving the account number information the robo system stated that we did not have the worry free plan! We have been paying for three years +! It's always an argument with them over this. We have small children like many other customers who have medical conditions...I made an appointment for a repair even though the system is stating that we don't have the worry free plan that we pay each month for.

Have to agree that the whole customer service experience with pseg has been frustrating. With 15+ attempts to reach them via phone, twitter or email failed to reach anyone nor get any valid information.

They said ETR is saturday and I'm still without power. This is 8th day without power. If you are not going to deliver, don't say you do in your website!

PSE&G really suck! Just because my street is the last in there territory, they not even made an afford to come and see the damage. Get this one; they telling me that me power was restore!? Really?
Tired from the stupid emails from them with the progress. Fake info.

Your call center operators and repairmen are both pathetic excuses for service providers. We have called half a dozen times since Tuesday due to downed wires, transformers and broken poles in Kendall Park, NJ only to be told by PSEG employees "we have power, we didn't know there was an outage, and we didn't know how bad it was in this area." Seriously?!?

They cut our lines and put the grid back up. That was Oct 30th. We've had no power and no heat since then. Called at least 10 times since then - different response every time. I'm writing this from the parking lot of the Garden State Plaza and can see at least a dozen PSE&G workers milling about, while I try to stay warm in my car.

PSE&G customer service extremely rude SHAME on you. Have no power since Oct 29 the tell you to go to their map for restoration information my town is not even listed on their grid.... PSE&G leaves a bad feeling I have not seen 1 truck working in my town or surrounding. Just tell the truth PSE&G you were not prepared!!!!! Shame on Ralph Izzo I am sure you have Power!!!! Will be notifing my local congressmen as soon as power is back This is not the end. I am sure PSE&G will not even respond and let you know when power is returning SHAME SHAME ON PSE&G!

I used the automated service to check the status of the restoration of power to my house and it said that power had been restored to my area and to call if I didn't have power. I went home and there was no power and I called. The customer service representative said they weren't using that system and they would call me. Are they really going to call all 8,300 customers in Edison that are still without power?

Mr. Patterson ext. 6267 at PSEG was the rudest, most sarcastic live representative I ever spoke to! He said "I am not going to look for any information for you". No power for 5 days as well.
