impossible to get someone on the phone,, i waited for an hour and a half for them to try and transfer me and end up dissconecting me, and all i was trying to do was to pay off a loan with them.

this mortgage comp.has been a nightmare and wish they would have never bought our mortgage from our initial comp. champion mortg. champion mortage was a nightmare in it self when they stoel everything from us, tax escrow money..everything! then hsbc came into the picture and wanted us to make payments we already made to champion mortg. but hsbc had no record..we did but that wasn't good enough....you can never get ahold of someone within the company...its always cust. serv. and they dont know anything..now our home is in foreclosure and they want thousands to get caught up that we dont have....if the first mortg. comp would not have gone belly up and screwed us hsbc may never have gotten into the picture. we were told by our realtor our mortgage would never be sold to another comp. but that wasnt true at all and when we asked our local congressman ofc what can we do..their reply was nothing...mortgage comp. are so well protected we may never get back what was stolen from us!!quote un-quote!!

It is impossible to get through to someone for online help. I was frozen out of my account. After being on hold for 30 minutes they called me with an automated survey asking me about their service. What a joke. I only have my mortgage with them but once I pay it off I will never use them again.

35 minutes on hold before i gave up and hung up. pretty sure that is their plan. I've been w HSBC for a long time but I'm about ready to put them in the rear view. Any of you every been with TD Bank? Are they better?

Absolutely the worst service I have ever had. I waited over a hour and a half and one operator sent me to another and no (Zero) help was provided.

Mine was the worst ever experience with HSBC today here in downtown Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The agent Wendy had no sense of what she was doing. First she said I have to go the branch where the acct was opened. My response : Oh Really? whats the use of branch locations then? She had no response. Then she stared at the monitor for Five minutes and then she said she would not be able to give me cash even though checks were less than 5K limit (they have a cap of 5k max). When she ran out of logical answers to my questions, she said the signatures don't match. After all the yelling, I requested her to call the manager, she said manager was in a meeting and the assistant manager was not in. I was totally pissed!! then I finally decided to take the checks and leave. She had no courtesy to even say sorry. She was like just there to warm up the chairs. Ridiculous service. Can't wait to see HSBC file for bankruptcy and shut their doors. Is there a way to find the branch manager email address so we can send emails too? Wonder if the banks read our experiences posted here.

I needed a checking account that had foreign branches to access cash while traveling. Thought HSBC was a world bank. I opened an account and deposited $4k. They sent me ATM card, debit card, PIN numbers and I had access via internet. A few weeks after opening the account, HSBC unilaterally without warning closed the account--1 week before I was to travel! They said they would have to open a new account. A few days later they rejected that application also without explanation. Each time I was on the phone at least 1 hour, mostly waiting in the queue. I gave up and am still waiting for them to return my money, which appears will not be available to me when I travel. This is the worst treatment I have experienced from ANY business (not just a bank). I implore you -- Do not do business with HSBC. You will waste a lot of time and patience, assuming you are sucessful at all.

I closed my account an switched to Bank Of Americca and they still allowed a ach to be paid, which allowed me to owe them. I paid them off and now two years later a collection agency is calling me talking about i owe HSBC 200$!!!!! I closed my account 2 years ago and paid then! So disgusted with this bank. Team Bank Of America from now on!! I love them! Ohhhhhh and customer service is wayyyy quicker for BOA!!!! Im still on hold for HSBC 20 min later!!!!

I am removing all my funds tomorrow!!! I have had no access to my account since I got home from work!!! I call this # and it appears try have removed access to speaking with anyone. I will be there when they open to take all my money out. Good thing I had some money on me to pay for dinner for my kids and I. All I had was my HSBC card on me. Done!!! This is the last time they are locking me out of my account!

I am sooooo aggravated at there level of "Service" Im writing this as I have been on hold for alomst an hour. Seriously these people are harder to get through then the president. There Customer Service SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS!!!!

When I finaly got through to a human, I spoke with a man who said his name was "Al"
although his english was so poor he had to repeat everything twice. I am trying to get the amount of interest paid on my resently deceased sisters savings account so I can do her taxes. I was told I needed to bring her death certificate, all the court papers, as wll as proof that I'm her sister to the bank ( which is in another city) All this for a bit of interest on a very small saving account???? I will have to take a day off work for this! I had no problem with her Bank of America savings account,(all done over the phone).

tried to make a payment via money gram and all day long told me it was an invalid acct#, come to find out when i call customer serv that their system is down and i can get no help. only after i spent 10 min going thru the automated system. ugh!!!!!

I already have an HSBC account for my wife and myself. There are two debit cards current to that account i use in the Philippines for our cash flow each month.

I have been advised that upstate branches HSBC would be closed in NY York State and bought up by Niagra Bank. That means many problems for me to change banks to receive my retirement that is already functioning well for me here.
the debit cards have just been received lately to be good until April/May 2014. I want to be able to use those cards until they expire. The type of account is what i can afford Why do they not make it possible
for me to use another HSBC bank instead of forcing me to spend time money and inconvenience. I never believed HSBC would treat me as they intend when it more than 6 years at the bank at 30 south Pearl Street, Albany, NY since 2006.

I deal with pirated computer providers in the PH -- Very difficult to go online. And the customer service line is no toll free calls in this country. Without the use of my ATM cards cannot access my money. Also unable to reach customer service.

The money is deposited from Social Security and Johns Manville. Why would closing one branch stop the money from reaching me.

This is a very bad situation because it appears that there only interested in seeing how much more of a problem to solve this myself.

HSBC is by far one of the WORST banks I have ever had the dishonor of using. I do not bank there regularly, but took out a loan last year. I regularly started paying back the loan, in person at one of the 3 branches they have in all of Brooklyn, New York. Really?!?!?!? One payment I was unable to get to the branch before the date due and was rudely harrassed on a SUNDAY MORNING by the bank to pay up! I owe it so I couldn't argue, however 2 weeks later the same funds so desperately sought after by the bank remained in my checking account -- I could have easliy in that time gone into a branch and paid it myself.

Horrible customer service, I have never banked with them and I never will. My only experience is attempting to get a lien release for a 15 year old car. The previous owner paid it off over 10 years ago and I bought it as a cheep commuter/winter car. They charge $23 dollars for a one paragraph statement that cost them $.04 to print. I am furious, this is such a rip off!!!!!!!!

SURABAYA Branch. Customer service does not reply to e-mails,request for clarifications,they sent ATM PIN crd 3 times, all wrong,they lie,and just dont give a damn about customer service,

called from my job to verify a check. customer service had me on hold for twenty minutes bc he couldnt "locate" what i was asking him. eventually called the business line and was off the call in 3 minutes. thank goodness for diff phone numbers. longest 20 minutes of my life!!

This is absurd that a corporation is actually functioning in this manner! I have been a happy chase member for years and wanted to set up a small account for emergency as they are more global. I started my phone call at 9:00, put on hold and wasn't much help. I walk to the branch they say they can't find my information and they can not help with online accounts that I must call the number again. I called back at 10:00 and they say they cannot cancel as it's already been processed... it's now 11:00 and I'm still on hold. every 20 minutes the guy comes back and even thought I was a different customer at one point. Really HSBC??? I know phone calls to companies can sometimes be painful but this is a another level.

HSBC Credit card is so bad that they were recently sold out to Capital One. Now on my 3rd call of over 45 minutes each - glad I have speaker Sent payment for full amaount & they have yet to post credit. They did immediately charge my account an $18.00 late fee thought. Received a new card & account number in the mail explaining it. Capital One is just as bad with customer service.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST BANK in the history of humankind. no person to speak to, and if you want to actually have customer service you have to pay $9.99/month. are they kidding? even at the bank in person, they are rude.
