thank you so much this has helped alot
Read the reviews below to see the experience other people have had when dealing with customer service from GoPhone.
Good luck if your AT@T go phone breaks and you have already spent $ on refill minutes. I called this customer service # and they said I had to buy a new phone, that I could not transfer the minutes I still have to my husband's Go Phone. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH AT@T AGAIN!!!!!
This new automated phone answering service SUCKS. I stayed on the phone for 20 minutes during my work hours to reach a human being just to pay my bill.
I do not like paying my bill to a answering machine, and i perfer a live human being, and it seems so far to do.
i am about to switch my phone plan, because this is stupid
I was having trouble porting my number into the AT&T GoPhone service. They sent two SIM cards, and apparently the instructions told me to install the wrong card. I was going around and around the automated system without it being able to help me.
After calling the number listed here (which is for contract service rather than GoPhone), I quickly reached a very nice customer service person who transferred me to GoPhone. There, I talked to Debbie, who was kind and did a great job figuring out what the problem was, asking me for the numbers on both SIM cards. She was thorough, helpful, and effective, and although I was really frustrated at first, I feel so much better about switching to AT&T now. Thank you, Debbie!
first of all I agree that ATT needs desparatly to change their automated CS line. I've mentioned this issue on a number of occasions when I had Uverse. When calling about a GoPhone issue I was once again put in the automated service jail. I called the 800 # again and pressed 0 repeatedly and did recieve a live voice. they were able to fully assist w/ my problem in a short amount of time. Lilly was the CS rep that helped tremendously. Thank you to her.
I been a at&t customer for 25yrs and was having a great deal of problems with my credit card[ will in florida part-time and i'm also on protect id from a purse being stolen. They suspected fraud; but every time we called they said it was alright/but they kept rejecting it in the. it turns out I was locked out because of trying too many times'the point is i was getting pretty fed up with Gophone customer service and this young man turned it all the way around Kevin Mcdonald was patience beyond belief. He called me back when we dropped,he talked with amex when they could not override problem. he deserves at least a commendation
THE GENTLMEN THAT JUST HELP ME UNLOCK MY PHONES SIM CARD WAS AWWWWWWWSOME!!! I DONT BELIEVE I HAVE EVER HAD SUCH A MORE UNDERSTANDING PAITENT AND MORE THAN HELPFUL EXSPERIANCE EVER WITH A CUSTOMER SUPORT PERSON IN MY LIFE!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!THE BEST THING ABOUT IT HE MADE ME FEEL I HAD NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT HE WAS GOING TO TAKE CARE OF EVERYTHING NO MATTER HOW LONG IT MIGHT HAD TAKEN!!AND IM SORRY TO SAY I FIGURED IT WAS GOING TO BE LIKE IT ALLWAYS HAS BEEN IN THE PAST SO I'M SORRY TO SAY I DIDNT EVEN CATCH HIS NAME IN THE BEGINNING OF OUR CONVERSATION BUT THANX FOR ALL YOUR HELP. YOU GUYS NEED MORE PEOPLE SUCH AS HIM!!!THANX AGAIN FOR THE SMILE STILL ON MY FACE @@@@@@@@
Well, I have only had my go phone for 3 weeks. AT&T just took over Alltel in our area here in Southern Utah.
I paid $25 dollars up front for 90 days. At the time of this writing I have spoken on my phone for 43 seconds, and that was an incoming call that I called back on my computer gmail phone.
I have made no calls, but have been sent to voice mail several times to find no message.
AT&T has taken $12 dollars off of my prepaid minuets. I can only guess they have charged me to listen to the voice mail instructions, since every time I go there I use up 20 cents or more of my money.
I don't need a phone badly enough to renew with AT&T, so I will just let the whole thing laps. They can do their 'rope-a-dope' money dance without me. So long, AT&T
We had an Alltel Pay As You Go phone for several years which worked wonderfully well. Recently AT&T took over Alltel in our area because of some sort of monopoly problem. We ordered two GoPhone packages in good faith via the internet which was a huge mistake. We spent over 4 hours on our home landline trying to activate one of the new AT&T GoPhones. Two AT&T Technical Support guys tried to help us activate the phone. They both discovered that the phone tower in our Aztec, NM neighborhood is inferior and very weak. They advised us to return both GoPhones and the two $25 air time cards for a full refund. We did so. We were credited with the purchase price of the phones but not the $52.56 for the phone cards. We have spend many long stressful hours on the phone with the so called customer support people. They say that the phone cards are nonrefundable! We are stuck with a $52.56 balance on our credit card with no hope of a refund and we do not have a prepaid cell phone that will work in our area. AT&T misrepresented the GoPhone lack of service in our area. We do not recommend AT&T !! Signed stressed out frustrated victims of the AT&T GoPhone Fiasco in NW New Mexico !!
Support is less than crappy, it's non-existant. I have a telemarketer calling my phone multiple times a day, eating up my minutes but can't contact anyone at AT&T for support. Pay as you go is what I need, I average 13 minutes a month, but I am definately switching to another carrier.
I have been gophone customer for 5 years. All was fine until my $15 WalMart phone wore out. Tried to upgrade phone. For almost $100 from the store got a crappy phone. Clerk told me he transferred all my numbers. I had only 30 out of about 150!! Erased from old phone and sim card...
Now, with the $60 plan (which I love) I cannot make any calls because they did not automatically charge me yesterday.
Getting frustrated. Yes, you are treated like a second class (make that third class)citizen. I had one clerk very rudely transfer me back to the automated system the minute he realized I was a go phone customer!
I had held on for over 5 minutes, and he would not listen to my question at all.
I am looking for a new company...
This is no fun anymore!
My GoPhone account has accumulated over $100 and was on autorefill so I would not lose my funds. Guess what. GoPhone forgot to refill my account and stole my $100+ fund reserve.
Contacting customer service gets you to a level 1 clerk in India and you never get to speak to a supervisor. Only they can. Beware.
The best deal is as follows (for those of you who want a phone for 1) emergencies or 2) some personal calls, but don't yammer on forever! Buy one year of GoPhone service for $100.00; get the 25 cents/minute option. This works out at $8 & change a month - no contract or hidden charges. And you can carry forward your unused $$ (up to a max. balance of $500). You can't beat that anywhere. I find it hard to use up anywhere close to my annual minutes and always carry forward from the previous year. I think a lot of you who are complaining are going about it all wrong - it's not as good for the short term.
