Four-year-old Ryobi 40V Trimmer very lightly used. Needs third battery/charger. Customer support is non existant. Will never buy another Ryobi product.
Read the reviews below to see the experience other people have had when dealing with customer service from Ryobi.
40V battery for Ryobi 110 Cordless Leaf Blower caught fire on my kitchen counter while charging - purchased 4/12/19 charging fire 4/28/19
I was able to unplug and get outside - not before smoldering hole in battery and base completely black. Silestone counter burnt - Had to use fire extinguisher to put out.
Please do not leave your battery unattended on the charger. Will only charge outside moving forward -
Recently two 4AH 18v battery's failed, shorting out at positive terminal.
Tried on numerous attempts to get asssistance from Ryobi, no help or asssistance provided, only a run around and very rude customer service reps. ( one actually laughed as was explaining my issue, she was female ).
Promises to have a tech call never materialized.
Will never buy any Ryobi products again and will certainly let friends, neighbors and as many people as I can know of my experience as to thier products and especially Ryobi's SERVICE.
Very disgusted and disappointed!!!
The fan blade on my leaf blower broke. I researched the item and realized that this particular blower had a recall on it for having a faulty fan blade. I contacted your customer service. The person i spoke to was knowledgeable, courteous and extremely helpful. He told me that they would pick up the broken unit and replace it. I boxed it up and FedEx picked it up. I received my new one in approximately 10 days. I just wanted to thank you for your excellent service

Wow! Ryobi. You have a real customer service problem. Almost a complaint a day. Well, here's another one. For several months now we have been trying to get our blower replaced which only worked one time. Like all the other customers, we were told that someone would get back to us. Never happened. So at this point, I feel that our only recourse will be take to social media to recommend that Ryobi never, ever be purchased.
In the aftermath, if you feel you would like to make this right, I can reached at [email protected]. That's right...I'm a business.
I've been trying to report issues with your website. No one at Ryobi customer service is willing to help. Today Laurna insisted it was my problem, she would not even listen to me. I did work with someone on last Friday who was able to replicate the 4 or 5 Ryobi web site issues. I was told someone would call me back first thing Monday, it's now Tuesday and nothing. Each time I call and ask to speak to a supervisor I'm told there are no supervisors.
I'm trying to register a product and it's very frustrating when you web site does not work and the customer support people like Laurna refuses to understand that the Ryobi web site has many defects.
We have a Ryobi PowrLT2 hedge trimmer. We have used it a handful of times and each time it has been a nightmare to start and once you take your finger off the trigger it's impossible to restart it. This is a replacement for a previous ryobi trimmer which we took back to the store for being impossible to start. Is this a common problem and how do we fix it?
Have always been a Ryobi user and loved my tools! Then I made the big mistake of buying the 20' brushless push lawnmower!
After one year and a few days the thing started melting batteries! Having the regular warranty and the extended one I figured no problem this will be an easy fix! One week later, many calls and on hold forever and not to mention Home Depot clueless the machine has not gone anywhere or looked at! So now as I watch my lawn grow and with that more ticks I am nowhere! They have to send it to Indiana for no one around here services it . So now there is no idea how long it will take to get it back! Meantime they did make an offer to buy another and they will take $100 off! Well Ryobi shame on you! You just lost a faithful long time customer and as for Home Depot your excuse of understaffed and underpayed does not work for me! Not very professional! Very upset and very tired of dealing with Ryobi and Home Depot! If your going to sell it make sure you can fix it!

I have contacted you before and I ask again if you would please design a device that would hold a charged 18V+1 battery and a series of USB ports for charging phones, tablets and other devices during severe power outages. Here in Florida we just were five days without power and needed some way to charge our things
It seems so easy to design such an item and would serve so many people in need. I just would like to offer this idea to you before promoting to rival companies. And I also would like to hear from someone in your department acknowledging this idea.

I have a weed eater head, green cover with less than 5 hrs of use and now does want to start...this the 3rd head I buy and my last...your products really suck...only reason I buy them is because I felt for you market in and bought a bunch of adapters...going to post it in Google, Facebook, better business bureau...and every bulletin board I can find
I purchased A 40v line trimmer in July 2015. Two years later the battery starts to fail. I called customer service and gave them all of the required serial numbers. Woman tells me the trimmer was built in 2015, but the charger and battery show they were built in 2013. I told her all three came out of the same box, brand new. I'm told that's not possible, because all three pieces are manufactured within 12 weeks of each other. I decided to open the charger case to see if there was any info inside. Behold, the circuit board inside the charger had a "Oct 24,2011" date printed on it. So it appears the 'within 12 weeks' is a load of crap, and their way of not honoring their 3 year replacement warranty. No more Ryobi products for me!
I bought the 40volt trimmer, and the 40 volt blower. The blower was ng and they sent me a new one. The trimmer was repaired under warrantee, new motor, and switch. Took over a month to get it back from local HD. Now it's out of warrantee the battery wont work after I use 1/4 of the charge. Ryobi says too bad. Their parts come from a different company, and they want $160 for a battery. HD sells it for $99. Low use, and just out of 3 year warrantee, and I have to buy a $100 battery. My neighbor bought the trimmer, battery, and charger on sale for $108. I'll NEVER buy Ryobi CRAP again!!!
