I feel that your policy of charging a full night's reservation fee in cases of unavoidable cancellations is very unfair. A nominal fee would be totally acceptable, but to charge the full amount is taking advantage of a customer's misfortune. The room is available for let immediately, and there is little doubt that it will be taken. That means that HI gets paid twice for the room. Not good!!!

I recently booked a reservation with Hampton Inn in Columbia TN. I asked the booking agent twice whether or not my card would be charged he said no it would be charged at the time of check in. Your booking agents lied. And there is no where on the website that states this is a pre paid booking. This is very shady business practices.

We recently spent two weeks travelling and stayed at Hampton Inn on 6 occasions. On our last night we stayed at the Matmoras PA location. Two days after getting home I checked my credit card and found that my card had been charged $250, not knowing what it was I called the hotel. I was told it was a charge because housekeeping reported our room smelled like smoke after we checked out. I told the person I was speaking with that we didn't smoke and that that was just not correct. She then suggested that maybe we had lit candles. I then informed her I was 65 years old and my days of lighting candles were long gone. She then insisted there was nothing she could do that that was what housekeeping reported and that was the policy. I then started to loose my temper because she would not even listen to me telling her that we DID NOT SMOKE. She then said she would have the GM or head of housekeeping return my call by 5PM on Sunday 2/1. It is now 2/4 and I'm still waiting for a return call. This is an outrageous practice and the fact that she wasn't willing to admit that a mistake MIGHT have been made is unacceptable. She did not even want to acknowledge that I was tell her we DIDN'T SMOKE, and that quite possibly they had the wrong room and that there was an apparent mix up. They just assumed we smoked and charged my CC. We are and have been loyal customers of Hampton Inn, but this is unacceptable to us and I am really upset about a $250 charge that is in error and I am being made to pay for, while the true culprit gets off free. My husband and I are both adamant non-smokers and to be charged for this is outrageous. I am so upset by this that I can't help but be angry. Please have someone look into this for us. It is grossly unfair and I don't have that kind of money to throw around.

Just stayed this past weekend 2 nights at Hampton on Flores St. in San Antonio , Texas. Was disappointed to learn that after 1:00 Am there is only one staff member on site. At 2:30 am a drunk lady was banging and cussing at my door. Called front desk took at least 30 minutes for the staff which was a lady to make it up to the 3rd. floor. Took her at least another 15 minutes to talk the drunk lady in to going down stairs with her. Learned the next morning the police were finally called and the lady was arrested for being drunk. I understand things happen but I don't feel safe knowing only one person is there to do everything. There needs to be better security than that. We stay in your hotels a lot and have always been pleased but I will be checking about security and if there is only one person at night I will probably choose another place to stay. My safety must come first.

Very Unhappy discovering I have been charged $50 for incidentals. The hotel clerk acknowledged I had no incidental charges when I checked out. Why have I been billed for incidentals? It is now 21 days since I was charged. That charge still has not been credited back to my account.

I will avoid staying at Hampton Inns from now on.

Typically I do not have to use my personal credit card for incidentals when traveling on business. However this is the second time I have and have been charged $50 on my personal card when I have not used anything considered incidental (no phone, no internet, no TV, no wake-up call). So what are you charging me for? You admit I used no incidentals but charge me anyway. Why do I have to be hassled to get my $50 back? Do you think this is good business?

This is criminal. You charge somebody $50 for services not rendered and keep that money unless they call you and fight for it. I know it is $50 and who is going to take you to court for $50 particularly when they are from out of town. But I have stayed in Hampton Inns maybe 20 nights this year on business. I can stay somewhere else.

I was in Tallahassee, Florida a couple of days ago and witness how the General Manager Krissy? Something that started with a K, treated and handle one of her employees in front of her co workers and the guests, she was very unprofessional and rude. I couldn't believe that she was manager. As a professional business worker myself i was really appalled. I was embarrassed. I can only imagine the way she treat them daily and if i had to guess there probably a big over turn because of her attiude and rudeness. Then she put me in a room that smelled liked it had been painted a hour earlier. I had to change rooms and it was very poorly painted the green is still shining through even on the doors. The carpet it is hiddus!!! Cheap and it doesn't look completed. Really revamping during football season with holidays here this should have been done months ago or the first of the year. Wow she's the General Manager you need new Management.

We use Hampton Inn exclusively and have always been treated with consideration and the accommodations are fine. Today I called to make a reservation in the Atlanta area for 9/2 to attend a family funeral. The "customer" service person "Chris" was hardly understandable and was very rude. He had very little information about the location of the inn I was requesting. When I offered my Hilton Honors number for him to get my information, he said the system was down. I told him I would just call back later to make the reservation and thanked him. Immediately he dialed my number back and informed me that I should stop wasting his time and hung up.
I don't consider this appropriate.

I am completely and totally pleased with my stay at the Hampton here in Selma -Smithfield nc. Ms mate and her trained staff are phenomenon. Like Manger -like staff.
I've been so amazed as to each and every morning going I see the manager out in the lobby assisting the guests here in getting good hot food out to making sure of clean area ; you name it she took at part in it. I make mention of this because 90% of my stays at the Hamptons, the managers have been in their office or at the front desk playing the paperwork business. Nothing wrong with them doing their business just to consistently see the dedication and devotion given to guests from this manager is worthy of nofication
Without it appearing that I'm loading it on too thick im just totally pleased with my customer service that Ms Barbara Maye and her staff have given in my 3 days stay.

Whatever you do, don't leave anything behind in a Hampton Inn room. I stayed a week on Ponte Vedra beach, Fl. Left one complete outfit hanging in the closet. Not only did they tell me nothing was in the room, when I talked with the manager, Mike, he said he would look into it. Never called me back and did not choose to speak to me when I called there. I will choose other hotels in the future.

Mr Peter Triano at the Poughkeepsie Hamp Inn at 2361 South Road should be commended for helping us resolve an issue with our stay of March 14, 2014, He was patient and caring.

Another disappointing Hampton Inn - Seems the Hilton Corp is loosing control over these sites. Indy Hampton on Shadeland Ave. No warm cookies - I was told that this franchise is no longer required to have them available. No wekly managers reception. I was told that this franchise is no longer required to have them. Horrible internet. I was told no upgrades will be coming. The value added to staying at a Hampton is becoming less valuable. Being on the road 5 days a week, I'll stop staying at them and upgrade to Hilton Garden Inn. Price is now about the same or only a fraction higher, but the value and amenities are really good and consistant.

Just a note of disappointment from a longtime loyal customer. Booked an advance purchase rate(which I never do) and my business contact needed to cancel. I totally get I booked the room that way but reached out hoping to just get a credit issued to change the date for the same hotel for a few weeks later. 3 departments and then sorry, nothing we can do. I have never asked for anything in return for my business. I get it, my mistake and my problem but surely a long loyal customer is worth a credit, my file must clearly show My loyal history over 10 years. I wasn't asking for a refund just a date change option. Guess I have to join the rest of my coworkers. #Marriott Rewards it is. Sorry to leave you.

I would like to let the Hampton Corpration know how much the staff went out of their way to help me while my son was in the hospital at Livingston. Texas. I have never meant such caring people. Kristen helped me get the last available room because my son was in ICU. She worked her magic and had a great shoulder when I checked in. The maid staff was exceptional. I got real dizzy trying to go to my room, because of the stress, of my sons condition. Melanie helped me get seattled into my room. She checked on me to be sure I was okay. Her compansion was excellent. The service here has been the best I have ever had. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Livingston. You have wonderful, caring, outstanding personal and I feel they needed this well deserved comment.

My husband and I stayed with the hampton inn in Littleton co on Saturday the stay was nice until I noticed they changed my card $155 fee the day we checked in and then charged it another $135 for my room when we checked out and told us the $155 few would remain on my account for up to 5 days after I spoke with my bank and had the manager at the hampton inn fax telling them they could release the hold on MY money I then woke up this morning and saw they had charged my account ANOTHER. $135 room rate I'm highly highly upset and will never even think about staying at another hampton inn ever and will discourage anyone from staying at one the manage was nothing but rude !

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Galveston Tx for one night to get away. The elevator was not working properly and as I was walking through elevator it closed on me and I fell forward. I ended up breaking my little toe. I had to go to ER and my one night get away with my husband was ruined. They need to keep their elevators working right.I have to have surgery on my toe because of faulty elevator. My husband is a member of Hilton Honors too. He would not let me complain but I am going too. This Happened March 14th 2014 at 8:00pm. It just ruined our Saturday.Because of my toe I could not walk so we had to go back home. The hotel should give us a refund of 250 dollars because of there bad elevator and pay some of the Er bill.

Stayed in Goldsboro nc on 1-27 in room 304. Room door would not shut. Stayed again on 1-28 book the room only for them to change the billing without contacting me. Next day my employer contacts me to tell me to get in contact with the manager over a broken television. Manager tells me im responsible for it because i booked the room. Being the changed the billing to my employer i had to pay 460.00 for a television i didn't break or be unemployed.
Please take pictures of your room before and after your stay to avoid this scam. They had contractors walking the halls with glass beer bottles and doors that dont shut.

may look clean, but far from it. The pillows ar disgusting. One of my pillow case was slipping off the pilliow so I decided to take it off. The yellowish stained pillow. From previous guest... Drool and sweat marks... Not only it was on that pillow but all pillows. 6 pillows to be exact. Not only the pillows was disgustingly stain I decided to peel there sheets off the bed to the padding... MOre stains and a hint of urine smell! They really just air freshen the rooms it seem. And there hallways always smells like sewage! Stayed there 3 times because of the company I work for gets discounts there and I was placed there for a company buisness trip. Personally I would not spend my money to stay there. Hampton inn located in south kingstown ri.

we stopped and stayed at the Hampton Inn in Meridian MS.We always try to stay at one of your establishments since we have been pleased each time .....BUT this time it was an inconvenience for us since the air condition ran all night (very noisy! and needless to say cold )It was really late and by the time we felt the problem we were unpacked and tired......Anyway you need to inform your management of the problem.we were extremely disappointed.we rented 2 rooms and for the price it could have been more comfortable.Mrs Becekr

I heard from the general manager at the Hampton Inn, Hilton Head Island, 1 Dillion Rd. They will not charge me for the two rooms and have reimbursed my credit card.
