We encourage you to research the specific laws within your state regarding the recording of phone calls. Some good resources can be found here and here.
When uploading your file, please use the "Additional Comments" field to let us know if there is anything you would like us to bleep out before posting to the site. We can take out anything including:
- Account numbers
- Personal information
- Profanity
You have many options for recording your calls. We have found that the two easiest options are:
- Use the default sound recorder with your computer. For Windows users, the recorder is located in Programs--> Accessories--> Sound Recorder. Just turn that on, connect a microphone to your sound card and put the call on speaker phone. When you press "Stop Recording" you can save the file in WMA format.
- Use a video camera since the microphone is built in. Just start recording, place the microphone on the camera by your phone's speakerphone and simply upload the resulting file to us.
