On Saturday, April 19, 2014 we went to Texas Toyota of Grapevine with the intention of purchasing a used car for my daughter. We suggested a Corolla, and were told that there were only three certified in stock. Two minutes later two of them were sold. Okay. I know they are popular cars. the only one left was a red one. Fine. Come test drive it. We did. Fine car. We get out and there is a large dent in the passenger side door. It's been buffed out to not be noticable - okay. Still we might take it if the price is right. We go in and start that process. Without a doubt this was the worst experience I have ever had at a car dealership. Hours we sit there over a car and a price that we weren't happy with. Be honest. If you don't have a car in our price range, tell us. Take my email and contact me when one comes it. We suggested that. They really weren't interested at all. We told them we had a better deal on a 2013 Corolla at lewisville Toyota with a sports package, fewer miles and no dent in the side. They acted like we were crazy. Very defensive. Raising of the voice by the salesman. "What is wrong he asked? I got you the car and the deal you wanted on the price." Well, you came in at $200.00 less than we said we were willing to pay and then when you add tax, title and license. It's back up to where we started at the other place who had a better deal. If I'm going to pay that, I'm going to Lewisville Toyota. Then he leaves and his smarmy, gross, slicked up wise guy comes over and starts the strong arm stuff. First he has to bore us with how beautiful he thinks he is in his nice suit and his fiance is an anchor at Channel 33 news and she needs three houses for all her clothes, and then he just bought a very expensive foreign sports car for himself that very day, and finally his house in Mazatlan - blah, blah, blah." Finally he asks if we have ever purchased a car from them and we try to be honest and say yes, we have purchase two. One Toyota Tundra and one othe used car for my daughter. We tell him that both times the experiences were a beating because it was the same deal, sitting there for hours not negotiating - he blew that off, "yeah, he says, time is money" and continues on for another 20 minutes. finally he sends the kid back over with a key to show us a Yaris. The base price on that was already more than we wanted to spend. So, I said we were out of there. I'm sorry. Three strikes and you are out. I will never purchase another vehicle from yoru dealership. I went straight over to Nissan in Lewisville where we were treated respectfully and transparently. No back and forth to the slimy sales manager and no beration whatsover. We bought a brand new Nissan over there. I wanted to start with this review to you guys personally but it's not ending here. I am writing every corporate Toyota office I can find listed and lettign them know about this experience. It was insulting, rude and completely non-professional. I understand the young man, the actual salesman, was young and obviously being schooled on the these strong arm, defensive, beration techniques. I want to call him back and tell him to find another place to work because I don't feel he is getting good training at your shop. One comment I was told was that only 2% of customers ever return to the dealership after they say they want to look around. Well, the Nissan dealer across town got one of those 2% because we went directly back over there and purchased a brand new car from them.
