Tried to order a credit report package from Equifax online for a one time charge. After entering all my information the final page said the transaction could not be completed and I needed to call customer service to finish verifying my identity. I even received a confirmation email showing the failed transaction and that $0.00 would be charged to my account. I really needed the reports so I called customer service. After speaking with someone from India, who asked the EXACT same questions I answered online the first time I tried to order, my identity was verified and I ordered my reports. A couple of hours later I checked my bank account and found I was charged TWICE!! When I called to reverse one of the charges, again I spoke to someone in India, I was told I would have to fax copies of my SSN and drivers license with current address to prove my identity before the extra charge could be removed, even though I had emails from Equifax proving one of the charges should never have been made. When I asked why I needed to fax information they already had on file and DID NOT need to fax anything to prove my identity when I made the purchase they couldn't give me an answer. Going through my bank to have the extra charge removed. Such a rip off!!
