How to reach a live person:
Well, this is really a trick. I pressed "0" 6 times until ending up at a recording saying that they needed to pull up my account information. I then entered "#" 3 times until the recording gave up and said they would transfer me to a live person.

I was hoping this would work, despite all of the negative comments, but sadly it didnt. My email account of 3 years has suddenly been hacked, and I can't log on to anything involving my email such as Facebook, Myspace, or Youtube. Its very scary for me knowing I have drafts in my email account with personal information, such as my address, and credit card number. When iItried calling, using that "0" and "#" trick, i got an Aol person on the end of the line, but when I told them my Aol email, the lady on the other end of the line said that my email/screen name was not found in the data base. If anyone has a solution to this problem, please contact me at this email right now. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated.

THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU!!! Pressing multiple 0's followed by multiple 3's did the trick and got me to the right person. It seemed easy enough to cancel the old "free" account but only time will tell.

I cancelled my account a few years ago but come to find out today when my entire address book got spam that included a virus our e-mail accounts weren't cancelled. Now I can't find any way to cancel my account because we're "non-paying" members. It's ridiculous, AOL SUCKS I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN ANYONE THINKING ABOUT IT SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE AND DO NOT SIGN UP FOR AOL WHETHER IT'S A FREE ACCOUNT OR NOT! Hotmail is free too, AND you can call for free any time. Same with gmail. Aol sucks they have 0 customer service and you'll speak to someone you can't even understand if you do happen to get through.

I have not had access to my email in over a week. I have call 10 times and spoke to 12 individual who were no help! I was told that the aol server was experiencing problems and that I would regain access to my email. They keep telling me that engineering is working on my problem with no resolution. I have lost 4K emails. I use this system for my small business and I am very upset at the lack of regard. I have been a paying customer too long!

The Bad News, six 0's and 3 #'s did not get me a live person. However, I kept pressing 0 and # over and over to each question and reached a live person in under two minutes.

The recorded system fixed my problem and i was only on the phone for less than 5 minutes. Was not bad considering i hate those things. But it worked so I'm happy, thanks AOL

Thanks for the tip of hitting "0" 6 times and then "3" a couple of times. with this tip I was able to speak to a live person! It seems that now that I am not paying I.m getting HORRIBLE SERVICE. Mail is down for 3 days with an error code. I conduct business using AOL mail and my business has come to a halt cause I cannot process orders. Can't use another service b/c unopened mail is in AOL and who knows who wrote. THEY ARE HORRIBLE to say the LEAST!!!!!!!!!!!

These people are incompetent idiots. They refuse to reset my password on my acount that I opened 7 years ago. I didn't remember an answer to one of the security questions so they LOCKED my account and forwarded it to their fraud department. This is complete BS!! Srew aol and their lot of imbeciles!!!!!

That a big ' 10-4 ' to ALL comments below!! AOL, U guys reek! U suck. Keep up the shotty work. U know come to think of it I think you guys employ the 'Dead Peasant' benefits policies on UR employees just in search of the almighty dollar, so in my mind U guys should be boycotted!!
Have great (seemingly ignorant) day.

I agree with all the comments that state that AOL SUCKS. Their phone number is USELESS. I've sent numerous requests through their "Help - Feedback" site, with NO RESPONSE.
