Use the 717 number, an have your Pin ready! I was immediately transferred to a live person who FINALLY was able to help me out. If you are trying to remove your freeze, make sure the info you are entering is the same info that you used when you set up the freeze!

I had to call four different numbers before I got a real person on the line. Unfortunately they really can't even do much to help. I hate credit reporting agencies because unlike the protection that we have with medical info and HIPPA regulations, our other personal information...all of it can be purchased by anyone and false reports, including incorrect names and addresses, can end up on your report and be almost impossible to get rid of.

Terrible. Just Terrible! Cant access my report because I'm not answering their questions correctly. Obviously their info is wrong! The point is to view my report and speak to someone to fix the discrepencies. Duh!

Experian SUCKS - Useless, useless no one helps at all, just keep passing you around with different numbers for you to call and be placed on hold forever waiting for someone to help. Looks like my only option is to get an attorney involved and maybe they can get some sort of resolution for what I believe to be a false claim in collection.

I got through to a real person person with this number (800-493-1058). After giving report number and soc. sec. last 4 digits I hit 1 to file a dispute. Next I hit 0 (zero) instead of giving the credit item number. I didn't get asked to give the item number again. The virtual operator came back and went through items to choose, either hit 1 or 2. I hit 2. Sorry can't remember what it was for but it got me to the next level to be able to talk directly to a live person. Word to the wise ~ Be wary signing up for the monthly services for monitoring your credit report. It can be impossible to cancel and if you have errors that show up on your report they can't solve them. Also Put a Freeze on all your accounts with the three credit bureaus. No one can then make changes to your accounts without you being contacted. If you need a loan you can unfreeze your account. There is a charge to freeze and unfreeze but it is well worth it. Clark Howard from HLN recommends this too. Good luck!!!!

This company is a cluster ... they are as unethical as the banks that they report to. I too purchased a credit report thru freecreditreport.com and since I did not have a report number was unable to dispute three items on the report. I ended up having to order another report. What a crock of S#@*!

Anonymous 3/22/13 1:29PM

I tried to receive my free annual credit report for both my wife and I and each time I received a message saying they were unable to honor the request and showed a form I could fill out and send in requesting the report by mail. If I needed the report in a hurry I could get it by overnight delivery for $20.00. I think the government should take a look at this company. I am going to see if there is some way I can file a complaint with the FTC.

I called to get more information about a creditor on my report that was just reported. I tried to find as much information about the creditor to inquire what the debt was to settle this myself. In my attempt to find the information I found out the creditor is very shady and puts past debts that have been written off or settled back on a report, In other words re-aging a debt making it legally collectable. Since this company buys junk debit and outsources it collections there is little I can do to contact them if I no longer have any collection letters with issuing agency information.
So I called Experian to see if they can help since they put the information on my report……..
In my efforts to get information from Experian to find out what/how this information was reported and if they had contact information for the company since my attempts have failed I get zero help.
Ultimately the customer service is a waste of time if you have not paid for a credit report directly from their website they want nothing to do with you. If you have a report number but it is not from their website they can’t help you and direct you to claim a dispute online. Again the online service will not let you claim a dispute unless you have a report directly from their company. I don’t trust this company since it has no means to verify information and lets any creditor report information that may be fraudulent. And the only way to deal with them if you haven’t paid for their report is by mail. Consumer beware!

This # ONLY deals w/ technical support of their online stuyff...no help w/ credit reports

I was listed as a defaulter by British Gas when I did not owe them anything. What I did find out was that if someone is putting adverse information about you on Experian then they have to inform you by law. This was not done in my case and Experian do not appear to have systems in place to ensure that this has been done. These companies should be rigorously supervised by the government.
