waited on-hold for customer service this morning for 1 and 1/2 hours...three different calls I made...just recorded advertising and 'sorry for the wait, please continue to hold'...if this is what the new 'century link' offers then I don't want it....this is ridiculous.

Spoke with a Rep from Embarq regarding a mistake they had made on an account that I never had, he blatantly said there was nothing he can do. I asked to speak to a supervisor, he said "sure" then hung up the phone.

Line not operative. I called them at 5pm on Sunday afternoon, very pleasant agent on the phone, promised to have repairs done on Monday, by 9am Monday it was fixed. What is not to like about service like this?

I canceled my service on Sept. 15 and was told I was to receive a $10.00 refund. Well I finally receive my final bill on Oct. 13 and I owe a small amount plus $5.00 PAST DUE. That's the thanks I get for being a loyal customer for the last 14 years. I will never refer this company to anyone!!!!

Embarq has always been good to me. No complaints. Find it hard to believe that people are having these problems

My 1st try:
After waiting about a minute the hold music stopped, I could hear someone pick up the phone, I said hello and then the background noise stopped so I'm assuming they put the phone on mute.
My 2nd try:
A lady picked up, 1 minute into our conversation I told her I wanted to cancel, and then she immediately hung up. (Are you serious?)
My 3rd try:
Demanded a supervisor as soon as someone picked up. The rep (Katrina) assured me I didn't need to speak to a supervisor. She canceled my account... finally.
Three times the charm I guess.

After not receiving a bill for months but paying what we estimated as due and not getting a requested bill we closed our two Embarq accounts. They immediately sent it to their in-house collection company. When the bill was received we paid it that day--after two weeks of 8 calls a day from Triangle. Finally they stopped--until today. I called Embarq and they said it was NEVER sent to collection. I simply am at my wits end.

On Jan 8th 2009 I made several attempts to speak with a representative of Embarq. The recording placed me on hold. After several minutes the phone rang and I could a pick-up and someone working in the background but no one picked up and spoke to me. I hung up and repeatedly tried reaching someone. This went on for approximately 1/2 hr.
Finally I just gave up.
