After being a Dish Network customer for over 10 years and tried to negotiate better deals with customer service, I decided to switch to AT&T Uverse. For $10 more per month I will have better internet, and TV channels that I can actually watch, not the deceitful commercial that advertise so many channels but do not mention that over half of them are Shopping TV channels. When I called to cancel my account, they advise me that I would have to pay $17 to return the box or pay for shipping myself. They do not offer drop off locations and could not care about my complaint. They are also refusing to remove my dish and told me that I should remove it myself! I wish I had made the switch to a different company a long time ago and at least have TV during storms or rainy days in Florida!

It really sucks that our local co op can keep the electricity running through our most recent snow storm, no falling limbs, my vehicle can navigate the terrain. Dish can't keep the DISH working properly and we have to endure a 4 day wait for a service tech. Dish was however able to offer me add-ons. I couldn't see them if I wanted them. BS. Maybe Direct TV next time!!!!

Worst lying company I ever dealt with just keep raising bill during two year contract will advice all to avoid dish network
Anonymous 2/4/14 10:00PM
I have never seen a network that is so hard to get to in order to pay your bill, it used to be very simple , I have tried for about 30 minutes or longer and everytime I bring up a window it kicks me out to something I do no need to go to.

Canceling my dish service today why you ask oh I got them here! For the past 4 years I have had the best service oh but that changes now! I have been given wrong information not once or twice but FOUR TIMES! REALLY! I fell on hard ship this month and could not pay my bill I asked them to take a partial payment to keep my service on they said okay bill is 110 monthly) so I paid 85 and would pay the rest later I called them and told them I'll pay the rest of my bill now. NOPE YOU HAVE TO PAY 135 now or we cancel you service! I complained and they said we'll put you on promised to pay call Monday to extend it for another week. I call them today. NOPE YOU CANT EXTEND IT BECAUSE YOUR OVER THE AMOUNT NEEDED. I gave them the list of people who helped me last time and he has the audacity to tell me "well you better find a way to pay it you have to pay you have a responsibility" EXCUSE ME YOU GAVE ME WRONG INFORMATION! AND ON TOP OF THAT ISNT IT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GIVE RIGHT INFORMATION!
I'm glad I RECORED that conversation so I can let the whole world know how this supervisor Steven *blank* is towards customers and how terrible information is relaid to customers! Good bye dish!

It sucks!! To put it bluntly! The first options on the menu do not cover everything-where is the "other" category???? Secondly, it would be nice to speak to a customer service representative who at least could speak English!!! I couldn't understand her at all. I think I was told that when I was transferred that all I had to do was press 1. Either the recording was stuck or there was another problem because I couldn't get anywhere doing what she told me to do!! So Check on the menu & hire Americans & all will be well!! If you are an American company serving American customers - your customer service representatives should at least speak English!!!

I received an email that my returned equipment was received and now received another email saying I'm being charged $400 for unreturned equipment. If this is an example of DISH service, I will never return to DISH!!!
I do not agree with the terms and conditions I was forced to check below in order to send this communication - I just want my communication with DISH to be delivered!!!

Will you please put The Sprout Channel On Dish Network
Bill 1/16/14 9:07AM
It is my opinion DISH does not have department communications, when ending my service with dish I was informed I did not have to return part on the Antenna after 5 calls I am now informed that I will and have been charged with the part I was told not to return after asking for a shipping container I was informed they would not provide one (and by the way the equipment was and is outdated)
I WILL NOT RECOMMEND DISH AS A PROVIDER of SERVICE.
ljajga 1/16/14 8:57AM
I absolutely will never use nor do I recommend anyone to use Dish Network. I am on hold for a supervisor for the second time because the first time the associate on the line hung up so she wouldn't have to transfer me to the manager. I will never again use this service provider.

Hey, I've had Dish Network for twenty years and they just keep getting better. I called customer service three times and got my problems fixed each time. I guess it is dep[endent on whether or not you have enough sense to understand what they are saying to you. If you don't get it you might just be stupid. I don't know.
Paul 1/5/14 11:33AM
Dish may be one of the most awful stupid company there is. I just got a new tv and my stepfather is trying to set it up but he couldn't so he called dish and the told him to unplug everything and reset the cable box and they told him he could link the cable to another room so he did everything they said and it still wouldn't work so he called them back and they said oh you can't link the cable to another room so it was a complete waste of time now they have to come Tuesday and do it themselves. So dish is the most crapiest tv company there is.

It seems like a waste of time to even express my dissatisfaction in the service that dish attempts to provide . In a day and age where television viewing has evolved I can't believe you have the brass to put this terrible service on the market . What a disgrace ....... programs blacked out because dish wants more money.......I figure you will lose more money in customer loss and anguish than youll gain by your antics.....I'm so disgusted that I gave this incapable, incompetent company a dime of my money ......this company will never suit anyones TV viewing . Just fold and choke on it .

I have called all the numbers I can find for Dish Network and I keep talking to Direct TV...what gives? What i want to say is that I'm through with Dish Network and ask that you come and get the satelite dish and the receivers from my home. I am officially giving up Dish as of tomorrow (December 11,2013) and request that you send me a final bill.

I just dropped Dish for all the reasons below. When I called to cancel after 8 years the CS offered 465.00 of savings. I had the same problem with Fox Sports Detroit. They said that the send what ever Fox Sports sends, LIE. Fox simulcasts 24-7 in SD and HD. I had HD only after 6:00. When I called to cancel they wanted me to pay to return their equipment. WHAT? I guess I will see if they send me the Box's and return labels. I told them I took the Satellite off the roof. So they could send a truck out to pick it up. I see them all over the place around here. They said no they can't do that? Really? Why? I'll find a new company soon. Happy, Happy they are gone. Oh, and My contract ended 6 years ago.

dish network customer service is the worst in the industry period. just stay with cox or go the way a lot of people are going these days. info on whatever you need to know about can be found on your computer.these companys are getting more and more arrogant everyday. They all suck and it will only change when we unplug the TV's from their grip on us and stock pile movies because lets face it,we only watch when we have time and need to be entertained. there is another way.

We have been DISH customers since 2006. Have had one service call since the installation. We are removing one TV so will only have one left. Under the one being removed is the dish box which I presume is for connection, recording, etc. I would like this equipment moved to a less noticeable location as it will sit on the floor in a corner of the room if left in its present location. I understand there will be no change in our monthly charge--no problem; however, I was quoted a price of $50 (later changed to $25) to have this done. I can have new service with another company put in for no charge so I do not feel that I should be charged to make this minor change. This is rather disappointing as we have been very happy with DISH and probably would even consider your internet service after it has been operable for about a year. We will notify you when a change in suppliers is made. Thank you! William F.

I HATE this company. They promised several services that the tech wanted to charge extra for doing. He was rude and nasty. When I told him deal off, he scratched our 60 inch TV. Dish will do nothing about it because they say he's an independent contractor. They are the ones that sent him to my house, they should be responsible for it. All we have gotten is the runaround and them denying responsibilty and accusing me of lying about it and telling me that people have junk and want to blame the installer. I doubt they even did a background check on this tech. He stood in my kitchen yelling at me, I finally threw him out, but turned my back on him and found my TV scratched when he left. Don't let them in your house. I should have thrown him out sooner and kept an eye on him the whole time. I won't make that mistake again.

i had dish for a month and had to leave my home due to a threat on our lives. i returned the equipment and they charged me a 400.00 early disconnect fee!! what kind of business is this dish network???
Anonymous 10/16/13 11:42AM
I discontinued my service with dish in July. I was out of my contract period so there were no fees associated with that. However, they asked for me to return the equipment and they asked if I would like for them to supply the box. I told them I would like for them to supply the box for the equipment. I waited for a while on the box and never thought much about it not arriving, I work 65 hours a week and want to spend time with the family not worry about dish getting a box to me. Then I get $463.02 taken out of my account one day. I call and they say it is for unreturned equipment. I tell them I am waiting on box. They check on that status and tell me they sent it to the wrong address. But, They will not return my money until they get the equipment. It has been 10 days and still no money returned. I returned the equipment as soon as I received the box. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen. I will never do business here again. FYI cable has adjusted their rates to become competitive with dish and direct and it doesn't go out with bad weather

Dish Network is horrible, don't ever sign up for service with them. The channel line-up changed all the time, the signal went out all the time, and it's expensive. I cancelled my service, and two weeks later they took $380 out of my checking account for cancellation, no notification of any kind, put my account in the negative. When I called them to try and at least use a different card they refused, saying there was nothing they could do; my bank said that was a lie, they could have taken the pending charge off easily.
Anonymous 9/27/13 1:26PM
Dish is horrible. Their technicians never show up for scheduled appointments, and they refuse to credit accounts even after they don't provide service! It will take months to cancel an account. They cost twice as much as DirectTV, and they constantly change the channel line-up. You will lose everything from A&E to Fox Sports periodically for months at a time. They cannot compromise with their cable networks, and so the customer ends up being stuck in a two year contract with channels missing here and there. Dish is not the company they advertise to be. Do not trust them, and do not get yourself stuck in a two year contract.
