I just dropped Dish for all the reasons below. When I called to cancel after 8 years the CS offered 465.00 of savings. I had the same problem with Fox Sports Detroit. They said that the send what ever Fox Sports sends, LIE. Fox simulcasts 24-7 in SD and HD. I had HD only after 6:00. When I called to cancel they wanted me to pay to return their equipment. WHAT? I guess I will see if they send me the Box's and return labels. I told them I took the Satellite off the roof. So they could send a truck out to pick it up. I see them all over the place around here. They said no they can't do that? Really? Why? I'll find a new company soon. Happy, Happy they are gone. Oh, and My contract ended 6 years ago.

dish network customer service is the worst in the industry period. just stay with cox or go the way a lot of people are going these days. info on whatever you need to know about can be found on your computer.these companys are getting more and more arrogant everyday.They all suck and it will only change when we unplug the TV's from their grip on us and stock pile movies because lets face it,we only watch when we have time and need to be entertained. there is another way.

We have been DISH customers since 2006. Have had one service call since the installation. We are removing one TV so will only have one left. Under the one being removed is the dish box which I presume is for connection, recording, etc. I would like this equipment moved to a less noticeable location as it will sit on the floor in a corner of the room if left in its present location. I understand there will be no change in our monthly charge--no problem; however, I was quoted a price of $50 (later changed to $25) to have this done. I can have new service with another company put in for no charge so I do not feel that I should be charged to make this minor change. This is rather disappointing as we have been very happy with DISH and probably would even consider your internet service after it has been operable for about a year. We will notify you when a change in suppliers is made. Thank you! William F.

I HATE this company. They promised several services that the tech wanted to charge extra for doing. He was rude and nasty. When I told him deal off, he scratched our 60 inch TV. Dish will do nothing about it because they say he's an independent contractor. They are the ones that sent him to my house, they should be responsible for it. All we have gotten is the runaround and them denying responsibilty and accusing me of lying about it and telling me that people have junk and want to blame the installer. I doubt they even did a background check on this tech. He stood in my kitchen yelling at me, I finally threw him out, but turned my back on him and found my TV scratched when he left. Don't let them in your house. I should have thrown him out sooner and kept an eye on him the whole time. I won't make that mistake again.

i had dish for a month and had to leave my home due to a threat on our lives. i returned the equipment and they charged me a 400.00 early disconnect fee!! what kind of business is this dish network???

I discontinued my service with dish in July. I was out of my contract period so there were no fees associated with that. However, they asked for me to return the equipment and they asked if I would like for them to supply the box. I told them I would like for them to supply the box for the equipment. I waited for a while on the box and never thought much about it not arriving, I work 65 hours a week and want to spend time with the family not worry about dish getting a box to me. Then I get $463.02 taken out of my account one day. I call and they say it is for unreturned equipment. I tell them I am waiting on box. They check on that status and tell me they sent it to the wrong address. But, They will not return my money until they get the equipment. It has been 10 days and still no money returned. I returned the equipment as soon as I received the box. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen. I will never do business here again. FYI cable has adjusted their rates to become competitive with dish and direct and it doesn't go out with bad weather

Dish Network is horrible, don't ever sign up for service with them. The channel line-up changed all the time, the signal went out all the time, and it's expensive. I cancelled my service, and two weeks later they took $380 out of my checking account for cancellation, no notification of any kind, put my account in the negative. When I called them to try and at least use a different card they refused, saying there was nothing they could do; my bank said that was a lie, they could have taken the pending charge off easily.

Dish is horrible. Their technicians never show up for scheduled appointments, and they refuse to credit accounts even after they don't provide service! It will take months to cancel an account. They cost twice as much as DirectTV, and they constantly change the channel line-up. You will lose everything from A&E to Fox Sports periodically for months at a time. They cannot compromise with their cable networks, and so the customer ends up being stuck in a two year contract with channels missing here and there. Dish is not the company they advertise to be. Do not trust them, and do not get yourself stuck in a two year contract.

Ok second time I try this, I tried to set up new service. I have two receivers on a 311 with green bars on the signal meter and a 501 showing a signal of 102 and 103 ( 110 and 119 ) but the bar is in white and says its the wrong satellite. I deal with 5 different people the first one reconnects me to customer service , this guy is beyond rude and says I need to set up an account before it can work, after 10 minutes he say he can't directly connect me to tech service but gives me their number which turns out to be a nation wide insurance company. I call back get C.S. again finally they switch me to tech service , I guess they know more than the last guy. This person also tells me that the reason it is showing up in white and is saying there is an error somewhere is because I have not activated it yet and have to start a account first. I ask why is the 311 showing me a green signal strength and the 501 showing me a white one. I know she does not know and just wants to get me off the line and insists I call back and talk to customer. service. Its beyond me how they can hire so many stupid people and still keep the company running. I guess I'll try DirecTV.

i have ben with dish network for 12 years but if you drop chanel 7wspa spartinburg, s.c. and the program ncis, i will drop you and go to direct. i do not the policy in that if i try to get the discovery or learning chanel i must also get msnbc and other left wing political chanels. why cant i get fox news with discovery, history, or learning chanels. you have gotten to left wing political. i've just paid my bill so i know my service isnt off but i have no channels, and i have called every single number and no one answers just get busy tones... so tired of this i swear im bout to switch to direct tv asap i'm so mad right now....

I lost all my channels... I've been with dish for years. I can't get through on a single phone number, even requesting new service... they are all busy!!! What's going on?

Had an installation scheduled, I have tried for two hours to reach them.every number is down...guess what...We're not doing an install....that's not a good way to start DISH....

After getting Dish installed a year ago, and spending money on their receiver, it has been a year of only getting 60% signal, so signal loss with a slight amount of rain. We talked to the original installer about the fact that the roof was getting redone, and he suggested they would be back to reinstall. Now we got told it will cost $150 for "special services", and when the appointment was made, they did not call or show. Contacting customer service resulted in them telling us that there was no appointment, and they would reschedule at the cost of $150 again. We cancelled our account at this time. DO NOT deal with DISH, their customer service does NOT exist.

I love Dish. There are only 4 programs that I watch on TV, and Dish has them all. They are NCIS,partial signal loss, total signal loss, and my alltime favorite, acquiring satellite signal. Service is great as well. If you need to call for service, you only have to wait for 5 min. while you listen to a soothing conglomeration of half sentences, before they hang up on you. I guess things could be worse.

went online after being with dish for almost 2 years and always paying 94.04 when the bill was due, never being late. paid 94.04 on 08/31/2013 they took 200.33 refused to credit my account back the 106.29 which was not due yet, lied to me for 5 straight days and stated that this has been taken care of. guess what that extra 106.29 had been written out in checks to cover other bills they all bounced and the bank charged me 35.00 NSF for each one, thanks to dish not giving me back what they were not authorizaed to take. I hate dish, wish me luck in small claims court.

Just had DISH installed today & installer left house. Trying to locate Smithsonian channel but couldn't locate so did Google to find out its no longer available. So now 2 of my favorites I can't see. This is very discouraging especially when bill per sale paper says cost is $39.99but already $83.00.
will try for two weeks & if no better, will go back to Directv.

I will NEVER use Dish again. Calling DishNetwork Liars and thieves is an insult to liars and thieves. I signed after their authorized agent assured me that if I moved I could get out of my contract. Well I'm moving and now Dish is charging me over $700 termination fee. Then they threaten me that there will be another 400 if equipment isnt returned. I spent most of the day being hung up on by customer service before ever talking to anyone. I spent several minutes on hold only to have the call terminated before anyone ever spoke to me. I am goingvto do my partcto expose Dish on every site I can find.

Both Direct TV and Dish are terrible. Both liars and thieves. I have had Dish for about 5 months and they over-charge both in price and for a sub par service. I owed $100 for a bill and they charged my account for $273. They said it was their mistake. Even though it took 2 whole seconds to steal my money, they said it would take 5 days to get it back. Not like I had plans for that money, like gas to get to work or anything.... Unfortunately I'm stuck, for the immediate moment, in what amounts to a third world country in Alabama so my options are limited. Can't wait to get back to civilization. If you can, go with Charter or TWC you will be happy you didn't go with these thieves.

I have been 3 weeks trying to get an itamized bill for the fees they charged me after canceling their service. All I ever got was that they had received payment frm my credit card. After reading these comments, I guess I am just wasting my time and energy so might as well just give up.

I Started With Them Late Last Year, I Wish I Didn't . The First Was Not Bad ,then Came My Bill, It Had Blockbuster On It Without Me Ordering It. My Bill Had 15 Dollars Extra On It Which They Swear I Ordered It . Took Me 3 Months Before They Took It Off And Credit My Account Which Had Late Charges On It Because I Paid The Amount Of My Monthly Bill Which I Agree On Instead Of The Blockbuster Fee That I Didn't Know . So 3 More Months Went By My Bill Had A Late Fee On It Even Though I Paid Them. Icalled And The Rep Said Someone Put Some Kind Of Sports Package That Again I Didn't Order , So I Didn't Pay This Time So It Took Them 2 Weeks Before They Finally Said It Was Mistake And They Took It Off And Gave Me 5 Dollars Off For 3 Months ,great Right ,well No A Week Later I Got A Email Saying My Bill Was Overdue And To Pay All Of The Back Pay Or They Was Going To Turn Of My Service, Wow Now Thats When In Got Bad , I Called Them And The Customer Service Act Like They Could Not Find Any Thing On My Account That We Had Fixed The Problem So That Pissed Me Off, So I Asked For Her Supervisor Which She Put Me On Hold For 25 Min. Well Ms. Gail24a Perceeded To Talk Down To Me And Said I Just Wasn't Paying My Bills And It Was My Faught That This Happen And That People Like Me Should Just Pay The Bill. I Kept My Cool Then Asked Her To Transfer Me To Her Supervisor, She Said She Didn't Have One ,so Ask For Customer Care, She Gave This E-mail That Was Not Right, So Now I'm Stuck With This Rinky Dink Company Because They Wont Let Me Out Of My Contract. Do Anyone Know What I Should Do.
