Been a member for many years: Was severely poisoned while forced to spend 3 days in a hotel room that was full of raw sewage. The hotel had been hacked and were not aware the room had been blocked off. They refused 3 times to move me. 3 days after returning I developed a serious strangling cough. 6 days after returning home I had many severe stomach symptoms which lasted, at first 3 1/2 weeks. 2 visits to primary, antibiotics and stomach cramping meds help, I could not sit up. It has returned and when I saw a GI specialist today, he realized that I have a very serious situation. Exposure for so long to raw sewage can cause DEATH! The medicine he prescribed IS NOT COVERED by you and my charge was over $1k for the necessary, needed for life, medicine. My pharmacy called the Dr. and asked for another med. It WAS NOT COVERED either! Why do you not cover necessary life saving medicine. Do you wish to be held responsible for my death? I guarantee you will be heavily sued. When I called this evening, I was on the phone over an hour with totally incompetent employees. Especially Kirn, a supposed supervisor. Worst supervisor I have EVER spoken to. She was mean, rude and provided no compassion or any kind of assistance, just made me angrier and not wanting me to do business with you anymore. I also spoke to a very young black woman in the pharmacy dept. She could not understand english but is not a foreigner just lacks intelligence. I had to tell her 4 times to connect me to an agent and she would only respond by speaking of the pills, she does not have a clue about her job and does not belong in such a sensitive area. She also wants me to find a company that will cover necessary meds for life!

There is a huge language barrier. Every time I call I cannot understand anything. It's not the person's fault, they are nice. It's United Healthcare fault for hiring people that don't have a good command of English yet. Customer Service is extremely important when you're talking about your Health, your medicine, etc...I'm not getting critical health information I need because I can't decipher what's being said. It's been going on for years and there does not seem to be a way to speak to someone in charge. UHC needs to screen prospective employees and make sure their English is up to par. I get a knot in my stomach every time I call because I know what's going to happen. Completely unacceptable. For a Covid shot she told me I had to go to the doctors office to get it. For the RSV vax she told me I needed a doctors note. Do you realize the confusion I went thru? I need help right now to get a waiver on a Rx refill because im going out of town. I called 3 times and could not understand what she's saying. Im getting nervous now, im leaving soon. This is totally unacceptable. I seriously need help about that waiver. Im sure the customer service people are nice, this is in no way their fault. You're doing a pretty bad job, UHC.

@askUHC To you we're just another pair of angry customers. To us, we're a loving husband and wife who have been trying to conceive for 4 1/2 years. We tried an abundance of natural remedies, exercises, diet changes, and nothing worked. We then started taking prescribed medications that would help us to conceive. Nothing worked. It was after 1 1/2 years of being on Clomid, being told that IUI would more than likely not work for us, and another year of being told that our insurance did not cover IVF, and couldn't even afford the payment plan, that we finally caught a break. We had new insurance, a better insurance. So we thought. I called the insurance company on 6/3 and I spoke with a representative. I asked her specifically if IVF was covered and asked her to repeat herself (3 times at least). As soon as we heard that, we scheduled our consultation with a Reproductive Endocrinologist 9 days later. We acted immediately. We received a binder that went through every single step of our IVF process. I had to receive clearances from a cardiologist due to past health issues, we scheduled multiple appointments for multiple testings. We paid $30 per visit. We were only a couple weeks away from starting medications to prepare my ovaries for stimulation. The doctor even said we may be able to have our procedure in September. Just a short two months from now. But this morning, I received a message that said we would have an estimated out of pocket cost of $11,262 with additional incurred costs because IVF is not covered under my policy.

There I was. Sitting on our bed. Staring at the wall with a billion thoughts in mind. I called the insurance company. I told her about my previous conversation with the representative who told us that IVF was covered. She placed me on hold. I could tell by the tone and speed of her voice that she was going to tell me something completely opposite than that I was told. She told me IVF was not covered. The moment she said those words, I felt the biggest lump in my throat spool out into tears on my face. And then she said the words that I have heard so often. Words that should comfort, but are more like a knife cutting you and a constant reminder that you and your husband are still no closer to having a baby of your own. Stammering with empathy, "she said "I'm so sorry. I'll pray that things get better for you".

I asked to speak to a supervisor before I could no longer speak, hoping that maybe the representatives were wrong. Maybe the supervisor could tell me something different. By the time the supervisor came to the phone, I had calmed down. With my voice going from a shaky feeling to a rattle that you could barely understand, I asked her to verify if this information was correct and told her that it was not fair that we were provided this information, proceeded with the procedure, and are now being denied because the information we received was wrong. I told her how painful it was to continuously try month after month to conceive only to read a negative on a pregnancy test every month. To go from excitement to test every month, to not bothering to buy tests at all anymore. To have to hear someone say "we weren't even trying!" or tell us "just keep praying, it will happen". To hear your daughter tell you she wants a brother or sister.

Her response was, "I'm sorry that this has happened, but it's not covered. We can give the representative a write-up if you would like".

Our dreams of having a baby were given and taken by United Health Care Insurance, but she gets a write-up. And we walk away with nothing but more heartache.

I expected more from United Health Care. I expected more compassion. More something. Instead, we're left trying to figure out where to go from here when we have no other options.

I'm disgusted by you United Health Care.

Yes the service is awful, we all are unhappy we all post our comments and thoughts but nothing change! We keep paying GOOD MONEY for a bad service.
Same story with physician services. Very unprofessional for something so important as our health and well-being

I need the name Lawrence Wagner removed from my phone number

No one on your customer service team has any other solution other than adding my number to your no call list.

Unfortunately, I am a client of yours also.

After reading the first couple of comments, I now know I am not alone in my negative, incompetent service from United Healthcare. They have messed up my account 2x already. They fail to rectify, nor expedite any WRONG they do to a customer. Talk to 3/4 different people, departments, get a different answer from each one! Between phone transfers and HOLDING time, my phone battery died and the call was lost....NO one bothered to call me back to finish the LONG call. The whole company is not working together on the same page. It's very, difficult to find Corp.phone numbers and they are NO better either! I will be looking into OTHER companies for better service, lower premiums and more competent people and answers in this open enrollment. Sad....the bigger they are, the worse the service is.

UHC hires people who don't even know how to speak or read English. They're extremely unprofessional and lack ethic. Every time I call to have a problem solved I obtain a different answer from every representative and they transfer you several times. Not to mention this insurance company is the biggest thief of them all every time I call they inform my balance is cleared and then I get a message stating I owe more money and I haven't even been to the doctor they state is coming from my past due premium which is a complete lie I always make all my payments on time and the correct amount. I will do everything in my power to inform every single soul of this horrible insurance company I sincerely hope it closes all its door for good. As I can see other several people agree because the reviews are horrendous. If an insurance company can receive an award for the most corrupt insurance company UHC is definitely the winner.

I am a professional. switched from Humana to United Health Care. Optim rx and united health care are the worst service providers I have ever seen. I have dealt with medical providers for 50 years. They are polite. However, you cant get meds filled. you cant talk to a pharmacist. They argue with Drs. about prescriptions. They appear to me to not follow professional guidelines in their behavior.

OMG! after looking at the comments of other people having problems with United Healthcare it doesn't look too hopeful for me Iv'e been trying to get them to pay for my surgery since July9th and I keep getting the run around too. Have to make them do something before the hospital turns over to a collection agency and ruins my credit

I don't think you can get any worst service than United HealthCare. You send the payments and they can't keep track of them and then you have to prove that you made the payments. In the meanwhile we have to pay out of our pocket in order to get reimbursed. It is their fault and they don't take responsibility. This has to be the worst Insurance company in the world not just in the US. They love for that money to be coming in but they find every excuse to deny, deny, deny healthcare. A bunch of thieves.

I Have Been Trying To Get A Payment For A Hearing Aid For Over Three Months(it Will Be Four Months Since The Service With An Audiolgist On August 3, 2015) Recently I Received A Letter
From Unitedhealthcare(greensboro Service Center In Utah) Stating That They Need A Copy Of The Prescription For The Service From My Doctor. I Have Been Calling To Find Out Exactly What Is Needed And All I Get Is People In North Carolina That, In My Opinion, Are The Most Uninformed
That I Have Talked To In Years. I Always Have Trouble With United. I Think Its Time For Att&t To Find Another Health Service Company.what Is It That You Want? Specifically.

I have been waiting for 25 minutes at this time to speak to a supervisor relating to a prescription they no longer cover. This is ridiculous.

My wife and I currently looking for a Medicare Advantage plan starting from July 1. I talked with 6 UnitedHealthCare representatives and each of them gave me different answer. My question is about drug cost. With AARP MedicareComplete Plan 2 at aarpmedicareplans.com Vytorin 10-80 costs at the local CVS $95 for 30 tablets( $95 x 12= $1140), total annual cost is $1305. With Preferred Mail Service 90 tablets cost $275 ( $275 x 4= $1100), annual cost is $1360. Why is my calculation different from the total annual cost and why does Mail service costs more than local pharmacy? Currently we have a United Health Plan from the employer, and we order our prescription drugs from OptumRx mail order, it costs less than from a local pharmacy.

Health4Me app for the iPhone does not work as designed. I reported the problem on March 24, 2013. I was assigned a case number. I received a reply via e-mail on March 25. I was given instructions to follow. These are the same steps that I had already tried three times. The problem: there is a missing BUTTON on the screen. Now the issue has changed. I cannot repeat the steps required. I replied to the e-mail but have not had a response - one week has passed.

I have tried over and over to change my mother's doctor with no success. Unfortunately, my mother has dementia and I have power of attorney and am her medical attorney of fact Your customer service representatives have poor communication skills and when they do not know what to do they simply terminate the phone call. Per your rep's instruction I have had my mother on the phone to tell them that she needs a new doctor in an area close to her new assisted living facility. Your people told me on my latest attempt that I need to phone the new doctor and tell them that they need to update their information. I called the doctor's office and they said this makes no sense.

I changed my insurance from Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) to United Health Care (UHC) on Jan 12 2015 through Healthcare.gov and waiting for UHC to call or to sent me letter of confirmation like BCBH did 2 days after the change . But till Jan 22nd 2015 I called UHC they said I should pay first in order to received Id and right away I went to my Chase Bank on line to pay them Stil now today 01/31/15 I received UHC letter telling me to pay in order to get insurance. If I don't pay I will get penalty. I called my bank and they said UHC has cashed the check on 01/27/15 I called UHC they said they needs tie check account I gave to them They said the money is not on their systems yet and they will do the investigation. I really have a newvous breakdown by UHC. They should do the better job

the last of 3 times on hold first time for 45 minutes and was still holding. this company is run like a third world operation when it comes to contact someone live. It so frustrating to try to resolve a problem when you can't get through. I'm sure there are plenty of excuses but for God sake the CEO should do something to run this company better to justify his pay.

6-12-14 -non-existant doctor at West Los Angeles VAMC - I did not receive any service from this doctor and checking with cardiology, he is not a physician there. Yet you paid him as providing a service to me on the above date. This could be fraud. Robert John Brady - Thank you.

Amanda Haluptzok was very helpful in locating and responding to an old claim in a very timely manner.

Oh my goodness. If you have any other option, please do not use United Healthcare. They are the rudest, most unhelpful customer NON-service folks. Over a period of days, I have tried and re-tried contacting someone who could cancel an automatic debit that was being taken from my deceased father's checking account. I have been put on hold for lengthy periods of time, transferred to other departments, cut off. Oh dear. If you are reading this, good luck. I'd take my money and run somewhere else!

I saw a PA today to get a renewal on a prescription which she gave me. This is my problem: she asked me if i wanted a paper script or should she call it in, I said call it in. So I go in to CVS to pi k the script up at 5 pm several hours later. CVS does not have it never called in this not the first time. The last time was a couple of months ago same thing I ended up back three times before I had to talk to the office manager. That was my Metiformin. I was mad then now the same thing is happening again. Originally I thought it was the pharmacy but before CVS I used Wallgreens but its the same thing. I have filed a compliant with Nevada Dept of Insurance
