citi mortagage sucks. if you send you payment on time it doesnt matter. One payment was 2 cents short. never missed a payment and I received a letter that i was going to be foreclosed on until i pay that 2 cents. Then i send them checks to be endorsed to get my hurricane monies so I can fix the house. not at all helpful. one person tells me one thing, another person contradicts that person. Two weeks later still waiting on them to send me back the checks.

I have been working with homeowner "support" specialist" Tony Williams and Short Sale "negotiator" Steven Schierbecker to stop a foreclosure through a short sale.

I submitted my request in mid December and did not hear anything until second week of January. At that time Mr. Williams sent an email asking me to call. I called and was told the office was closed. I called back the next day and was told I needed to schedule a time for him to call as he was unavailable. I received no call at the time it was scheduled. I sent emails asking for the info he had wanted to discuss. When we finally spoke, he didn't know why I was calling. When I had questions he raised his voice as though I were stupid, called me "Miss Cynthia" and was very demeaning. When I asked for help, he basically told me it was too late, the negotiator had closed my application because there was "no valid offer". He said "good luck" sarcastically,

I have been trying to reach Steven Schierbecker via email and phone. His voicemail box is full so no message can be left. I'm waiting for a response to my email. My house is scheduled for auction TOMORROW (1/24/17) but these jokers waited until 1/19/17 to tell me I didn't have what was needed for the short sale to be considered... at least that's what Tony said...

My feeling is that the auction should be postponed until this can be addressed.

Terrible customer service. Will not follow through with commitments. Will not return phone calls. For seven weeks I have been working to address the same issue - with not resolve.

It is difficult to imagine any more inconsistencies, runaround and complete and total lack of answers or action in efforts so few.

My home is financed thourgh CitiMortgage. It burned and was a total loss on May 20, 2014. I recieved the check for the insurance company 5 days later. I sent it to CitiMortgage for endorsement and received it back because their "policies and procedures" dictate they will release the money in increments to "protect their vested interest." They then sent a packet that had to be returned with the check. The packet was clearly geared towards a site built house. I called and explained that this was a manufactured home and as such several of the items simply did not apply and could not be done until I had my money. Returned the packet completed to the best of my abilities. They released 1/2 of the monies. The bank then held the payment for 10 days. (Federal banking laws). So about a month later, I finally had access to part of the funds. About once a week during this time, I would receive calls/letters asking for paid receipts, signed contracts, etc. Each time, I would call, explain again that it was a manufactured home and that I would not have this information until certain things happened. The middle of July, after looking at several homes, I placed a purchase order for a new home to be built. I made a down payment. I sent a copy of the down payment and the check and receipt to CIti. The purchase order clearly states that the home will NOT be delivered until it is paid in full. I was told by Nathan that when I needed the rest of the money, just call and it would be released. Well, my new home is finished, so I called last Monday to get my money released. I was told they would need to do an inspection. I AGAIN went over the whole manufactured home situation, and that the house could be inspected at the factory. (It is local) I was told they would inspect in a couple of days and then it would be another couple of days before the check would be released. Okay, that put the move in out another week. No problem. I'm in a rental and have to be out September 30. Doable. So then, I get a call from the inspector who did not tell me who she was or why she needed to look at my property. I explained the manufactured home situation and that the house would not be placed until it was paid in full and that could not happen until I received the money from Citi. I started to tell her where the house was so she could inspect it, and she stated, I don't do those kinds of inspections, I have to get back with my office. Haven't heard from them again. Got to thinking and called Citi yesterday. AGAIN reiterated the whole scenario and was told, this has to go through a committee and that takes 7 days. So, another week and a half before I receive payment. Can I move by the end of September? Who knows, with the major screw ups that Citi are. Don't get involved with Citi. If I could, I get my loan moved.

Jean Baker of your loss mitigation department has given my soon to ex wife a loan modification even though I have signed nothing. my soon to be ex-wife and I have not even been to court yet.
I will be contacting a real estate atty. today.
My step daughter has cooked meth in this house, that's why I moved out.
I informed Jean of this fact and she smarted off to me and doesn't have a problem with forgery either apparently. See you soon.

Citi Mortgage 2 months ago took over our mortgage from OneMain. Our payment is due on the 20th of each month. I just today received the statement for the month of March. Is this the way this company try to collect past due amounts from their customers ? I check the Post Office daily. is there a reason that makes sense for this fowl up ? We are located in New Mexico, it's not that far from Arizona is it ? Can your company reply to this?

amazing I have had all the problems that are listed below, whoa be to the dummies that deregulated banks to begin with. This mortgage company needs to go under. I talked to Quicken extremely nice helpful people, they wanted to do my loan but cant cause Freddie mac is too tight, Lucy Haddad is horrible, sends same stuff over and over and never returns calls. There has to be some organization out there that can make this bank get their stuff together, they are awful awful and I did not have a choice, they bought my loan. Nobody should willingly do business with these people

Please be advised that CitiMortgage or Citibank does not have actual loan officers they could not pass the state tests that are required by mortgage brokers or Mortgage bankers they hide under the federal charter laws and they use collection agents to submit refinance applications with zero training and or mortgage knowledge go to a local broker or banker for a refinance or purchase money mortgage do not waste your time money or sanity with Citi. As far as concerns regarding modifications, same story from upper management to supposed titled Support Specialists they have no idea of what they are doing!!! When the assistance programs were first enacted they were modifying mortgages based upon unemployment income which is non-sustainable and a year later was reprimanded by US Government should had only gave reduced payments for up to 6 months under Unemployment program. Then started giving modifications to a divorced couple, with only 1 signature and a quit claim deed. No good since quit claim deed only relinquishes that spouses claim to ownership of the home will remain legally liable for debt until satisfied. Now Citi is trying to get the other spouse's signature on the modification agreement by sending a $100.00 gift card!! Wow let me locate my dead beat abusive spouse to sign these documents 2 years later, I don't think so!! All these stories are 100% true and amazingly it is with every lender since they do not want to pay a decent salary nor do they want knowledgeable employees since they do not want to be held accountable?? It is pass the buck around here!!! Your documents that you faxed in always missing? Fax servers and e-mails are uploaded off-shore in Manilla Phillippines, Mr Jones's paystubs were uploaded into Mr Smiths account that is why they say we never received them. Now all the lay-offs and servicing will be predominantly handled off-shore to save these too big to fail Banks reduce their costs and show a profit for their investors at the hands of the US tax payer whom bailed them out is just amazing

this company has completely ruined the experience of buying my first home and now apparently im stuck in it for life.. two years ago they tried to foreclose on my home but it was there fault by miss applying my funds to somewhere else.. Lucky for me I am a 100% disabled vet from wounds I received in Iraq so the being a VA loan I had them get involved and do their own investigation. The VA kept them from foreclosing and auctioning off my house every month.. this caused me several medical issues along the way.. finally after a year and a half the investigation concluded I was right and citi was wrong.. It only cost me my credit and they added on a $10k modification fee onto my account when it was their fault to begin with. They also want me to pay for $5k attorneys fees, but again because they are complete idiots they want me to pay the price for their incompetence. I was even part of the class action law suit and was paid a check because of their scams... I think citi mortgage is the devils work and they are now holding me and my mortgage hostage. I bought this house brand new in 08` and owe more now than when I bought it 6 years ago. how does that happen.. im referring my case to the dept of justice and will be getting an attorney..

I will never recommend this company to anyone. They are horribly unorganized and no one seems to have a clue what they are doing or what is going on. I have a current mortgage with them for ten years now and wanted to refinance my loan for lower rate. Well it has been almost 4 months now and still are yet to close. I have never been late on a payment nor have I ever missed a payment mine and my husband have great credit..But they have been dishonest and told me things they never went through with. Has been nothing but a huge headache wished I had went through any other loan company!!

I, too, am fed up with Citi Mortgage. It took me almost a year to get a modification, and the modification is more than what I was originally paying. The bank that secured our loan with Citi refuses to do anymore business with them, and when our roof was damaged, my insurance company refused to send the check to them to cover the damage. We are looking to refinance with another company and get away from Citi. They still do not have the correct address for our property on their records.

I have had a horrible experience with Citi while trying to pay down my principal. They apparently can not locate a wire transfer of $14,000.00 and have been virtually useless in terms of trying to help me resolve this. All calls to customer service have lead to dead ends and no one can seem to trace these moneys. How can you not trace a wire transfer. As of right now my money is floating in the ether and I am relying on this transaction in order to purchase my next home. Screw you CIti Mortgage! i will never bank with you ever again!!

I have called CitiMortgage short sale specialist Emerita Lopez and left voice messages many, many times. Never has my call been returned ! It appears we consumers are not important to CitiMortgage. Does anyone have an email address for the powers that be at CitiMortgage?????

I'm not a fan of citi either. For the past 3yrs. Or so I have been trying to get my mortgage modified. I was assigned a cust. Care rep. I was asked to send in documents over and over. To this day I have not been given an answer yet. I received several letters stating due to internal changes you have now been assigned to.... It was one customer care rep. After another. My loan is now under Fannie Mae. I'm still trying, working with an advocate thru Citi. No difference. Started in Apr 2013, I'm constantly being put off month after month and sending documents......useless

I would not recommend Citi to no one.For the last 5 years I have been in chapter 13 bankruptcy and the trustee's sent my payments to Citi every month. My bankruptcy ended 2/2013 and my mortgage was deemed paid and current through 2/2013 and I started paying the payments myself and have not missed a payment. So now Citi is trying to say I am behind and that the trustee's missed payments. I have proof they are wrong. I have the "mortgage deemed current" paper from the United States bankruptcy department and copies of every payment made. For some reason not one compadent person at Citi can help me get this straight. If anyone out there can help me with this, let me know. R Jenkins

I paid off a mortgage with Citi Mortgage in August of '09. It is 4 years later and they have still not released the lien at the Clerk of Court. I have made numerous phones calls and all they can say is that that the mortgage is in an old system and will have to be transferred to the new system before anyone can help me. This is absolutely ridiculous. They refuse to let you talk to the support department and say that do not have phones accessible. I even have my FM 1098 from 2009 to the IRS showing my prinicipal balance is 0.

OMG......trying for almost 2 years to do a short sale, numerous documents, over & over, no one is authorized to talk to you....so frustrating so I go to court mediation every 4 to 6 weeks, sounds like its all good with Attorney & someone who actually does talk on speaker phone from Citi, say what they need, I do it within 24 hrs, then out of the blue get another letter saying can't approve short sale, missing documents.... Can't get info out of Citi or their attorney. Already lost buyer after 8 months, now have another but REALLY, Can they get their act together & help people.....

We had a fire. Our insurance company sent the checks for repair to us (the homeowner), the contractor and Citi Mortgage. We had to sign the checks and allow Citi Mortgage to disperse at their convenience. They have procedures that we have to follow but they don't. After everything was complete they refused to send the last 26 thousand dollars to me. For 15 months they said they "had sent the money" and "were going to send the money" but never did. I withheld my mortgage until they sent the money they owed. After 15 months they finally sent the 26k. The day I received it I sent the amount I owed for withholding the mortgage. They are refusing it saying Im already in foreclosure and now they want the back payments plus attorneys fees and late charges. They had my 26 thousand dollars for 15 months after we were 100% complete (according to their inspector) but they aren't paying interest or late payments for having my money for 15 months!

As co-signers we were blindsided by CitiMortgage's collection attorneys with a civil summons. Common sense and common courtesy should have moved CitiMortgage to advise us well in advance of their intention to foreclose.

My questions is: Which government agency has oversight to hold CitiMortgage responsible for neglecting to advise co-signers of late and missing mortgage payments resulting in charges, fees and costs and threats by civil summons of foreclosure?

CitiMortgage, in my opinion, acted underhandedly in this situation. So much mental distress, not to mention thousands of dollars in questionable fees and charges, could have been avoided simply by communicating to us as the co-signers.

Everyone is entitled to what is due them. That is not the issue here. The issue is a lack of common courtesy bordering on pre-meditation to collect fees.

We felt for the safety of our family it was necessary to walk away from our home which Citi Mortgage holds the lien on. We were unable to make both a house payment and a rent payment so therefore needed to stop making the payments to Citi Mortgage in order to put a roof over our families head where our safety was not an issue. We tried to work with them to obtain a deed in lieu but was denied and told the home had to be on the market for 90 days. We obtained a realtor and placed it on the market in Feb. 2013. We have had 3 to 4 offers for a short sale but of course each one was denied by Citi Mortgage because the offer price was a couple thousand under the price they want to receive. I am pretty sure that they have spent more than that difference in lawyer fees by keeping the process in an ongoing state. We have tried to be extremely accommodating in providing every piece of information that Citi has asked for. It has been an extremely frustrating and stressful ordeal, like having to make the decision to walk away from our home was not stressful enough!!

My husband and I were looking to refinance our mortgage with Citi. They hold our current mortgage, and we have been customers for many years. The process has been an absolute nightmare. Originally there wasn’t supposed to be closing costs, but since we put our home into a living trust, the title was not the same as our original mortgage and that wasn’t possible. Then, there was an issue with the living trust containing a life estate. According to my attorney, the home could be deeded back to my husband and I before closing, and then deeded back into the trust after closing. Or we could have signed additional paperwork guaranteeing the loan on behalf of the trust. There was no attempt on the part of Citi to work with us to resolve the problem. Worse yet, the title company rejected the loan application because of the trust on January 8 and notified the loan coordinator. We didn’t find this out from our loan coordinator until March 14. And we have consistently called and emailed asking for updates during this time and up to the present day. The coordinator has been very responsive to the e-mails and phone calls. I even cc’d her manager on some of the messages, and she has been silent during the entire process. Meanwhile, Citi has been collecting the extra interest we are paying, since our current mortgage is at a higher rate. Today the coordinator directed us back to our salesperson because of the trust, and she made no attempt to resolve the issue with the trust at all. I could have my attorney deed the home back to my husband and I today to proceed with the loan, but the coordinator and her manager won't even open dialog with us about it. My advice? Do not use Citi. Ever. For anything. If I could put zeros, I would.

I have been out of work since February 2012 and contacted Citi mortgage regarding my lay off. I called specialist after specialist at Citi Mortgage till May 2012, I finally had enough of Citi Mortgages' run around. I contacted Fannie Mae and I can say they are no different. I had to jump thru Citi Mortgage and Fannie Maes' hopes sending paperwork numerous times. Last contact I had was September 2012 Fannie Mae said I didn't qualify for a hardship modification. I have now received an email in February 2013 saying my hardship has been approved and to call for my new payment. So I called I have spoke to four different departments and no one can discuss the account with me and was directed to call Castle Law Group. So I did. I have now been directed to call back to Citi Mortgage!!!!! Does this vicious circle ever end! CITI MORTGAGE and FANNIE MAE drag there feet with paperwork and not being able to speak to their representatives that they have caused and continue to cause Americans to lose their homes! They are so corrupt I have wrote to President Obama, White House, New Mexico Gov. Susanna Martinez's office and Senators. No response! I am now contacting District Attorney's Office. I encourage all of you don't stop and give up. Call, send letters to everyone. We have to stop this corrupt system even if its too late for us maybe we can save someones home!

This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. I applied for a modification that took 9 months plus having to re-send the same information many times. I was turned down in the end because my alimony was not to continue for long term...really that should have been a simple answer from the start. Citi mortgage is a disgrace!
P.s. I worked in the mortgage industry for many years so I know what the process is.
